Think Spring

I have a workshop tomorrow, and Spring has been my inspiration for the cards. Its turning very green here in Nebraska. We've had some Spring rains this week, and more are on the way!

The first, using the You Make Me Happy set was cased from SCS (from a post by JustineMarie) because I love the bright colors and the layout. I try not to outright case very often, but my brain was tired tonight! My week got away from me again. The only change I made was to the ribbon. The original had solid red, with added gingham and white. I liked just the gingham because of the texture of this set.

The second is my own creation using the All Thru the Year set. One of those sets I had to have when the catalog came out last July, and am just now getting around to using! I don't think I've had it since July, but it has been awhile. I'm glad I finally tried it!

I dyed cream ribbon using a sponge dauber on the Perfect Plum Pad to match the background cardstock. I just inked my pad so it's a tad dark, but it still works. If trying this, make sure you give it time to dry or you'll have smudges. And watch your fingers-they will be inky!
Have a GREAT weekend!

Bashful Bear

Here is my creation for today! I didn't get started til late, my afternoons/evenings have a way of slipping away. But, this came together easily. I used the same layout from the SCS challenge last week, just changed the theme and colors to a baby card. Some friends has a baby recently and we wanted to send them a card. The scan did not do it justice, the colors appear off and the bear isn't near as dark as he looks! This is great background paper and the colors work SO WELL for babies!!!

Sorry!

Nothing new tonight. I am back, and we survived the weekend, although it was questionable a couple times!!! And today was Monday thru and thru! I did get a few things done around here tonight, but no stamping. I have a workshop too on Saturday (that I haven't started preparations for), so it may be slim posting this week. But, I did receive a swap in the mail Friday, so go check out my Demo site (link on the left). The theme was Designer Series paper, and there are some great ones! Many soft colors for Spring.

Spring Petal

Here is the card I created for the Sketch Challenge on SCS this week. My scanner doesn't know what's going on-it's gotten much more use than normal this week! This blog has been a needed inspiration! Thank you for checking in!!!

This uses the great sets from the mini catalog and the coordinating papers. I have to say I've used more of this pack of designer paper than most of our others. It really seems to click with the sets and colors!!!

Thanks again for stopping by! I will be offline most of the weekend, so probably won't post again til Sunday or Monday. Check back then to see what I can come up with next week! Have a great weekend!

2 for One, Coffee & Cream

Another SCS Challenge this week was to use only Brown tones & Vanilla. Here are the two cards I came up with:

I'm not overly wowed by either, but they aren't bad. It was my first real attempt at a Cuttlebug Embossed background and trying to apply ink/color. The Brown one I embossed the Close to Cocoa layer, and then smudged over it with the Vanilla Craft pad. The pad is fairly dry, but it still smeared more than I would have liked onto the background. I then tried again and lightened it up by emobssing on the Vanilla. I applied Pastels to the embossed image this time. Better, but tedious. I'm thinking, and will have to try, a more solid image. This one is very open. And, I hate that I have to cover the flowers, my favorite part of the image, to add the words! It just didn't look right to go up or down with them!

Doodle This Color Challenge

The color challenge on SCS today was to use Brocade Blue, Really Rust & Marigold Morning. This is what I came up with using the great Doodle This from the Spring Mini.

I stamped the flowers in Really Rust classic ink. I then went over the lines with my aqua painter, and then came back inside the lines with Marigold Morning. This is my first card with this set, and my first SCS challenge! I hope to do more with the set and more challenges! They always have such great ideas and suggestions.

You Make Me Happy

Here is my post for today. Nothing new, but a card I created for a recent swap. Weekends generally fill up with chores and such, but I'm hoping to find time to stamp this evening. I'm also still learning all about this and codes and such and finishing up our taxes. I hope you are all having a great weekend! The sun is out here in Nebraska and it's starting to look a lot like Spring-finally! If you're dropping by, leave me a comment and say hello!

My latest creation

This is my most recent creation, for a swap I mailed on Monday. Created with items from the Sping Mini. I like the way it turned out!

Welcome!

I'm going to give this blog thing a shot! Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with it. I've been reading lots of them lately, and I'm inspired!
