Workshop Samples

Here are the two cards my customers made at the workshop last Sunday. Thanks to all of them who came!!! and especially thanks for your patience! I hope it was worth the wait!

First was this one using the Happy Heart Day set:

You'll notice it's very similar to the Real Red version I posted the other night but on this one I used the Regal Rose color. I stamped the background with just the flower from this set. And I used the ticket corner punch on all the layer corners. I like that extra touch! Card base is Basic Grey. Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to the hearts using 2-way glue-it's hard to see that in the scan.

It's not too late to get this set as part of the special bundle! We have thru Thursday so contact me ASAP if you NEED it!!!

This second card uses the new Just B set. Everybody loved this cute new set and the saying combinations it has!

Card base is Ballet Blue, then Real Red under Whisper White. The background was wheeled in Ballet Blue with the Scatter Sunshine wheel. The NEW striped grosgrain in Real Red is tied around the background layer. The 'B' is stamped in Ballet Blue, 'happy' stamped over in Real Red. The flower was stamped in Real Red then cut out. We attached it with a silver brad. Fun and Easy!!!

Unforgettable friend

Here is a card I created last night while trying to come up with workshop projects for this weekend. This isn't the actual project we'll be doing, but a variation! I'll wait on the actual project as I don't want to ruin it for any attendees!

The workshop attendance is projected to be quite a few so I've kept it simple. This features the Happy Heart Day set that is currently part of the Valentine's Day Bundle promotion. Card base is Basic Gray. The Whisper White layer is stamped in Real Red with the butterfly and heart images. I colored the small hearts with the Real Red marker. The elephant is stamped in Basic Gray on Whisper White and layered on Basic Gray, then Real Red. I edged the elephant with the Going Gray marker. Hearts are colored with Real Red and the grass with Certainly Celery. Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to the hearts with 2-way glue. Both Whisper White layers were sponged with Read Red. The 5/8" Red grosgrain ribbon was tied in a simple know in the center, and attached at each side of the Whisper White.

Sunflower Seed-Oh So Lovely!

A day late and a dollar short should be my theme for life! My swap is finally done (a day late-Sorry Carol!!), and I'm posting this a day late too! I took a quick look around my mess of a room and found this for a give a way:

This is the scanned label for an unmounted set, "Oh, So Lovely". This is a 4 piece set and was a hostess set from the last catalog. It can be yours! Just leave me a comment before NOON Central Time Sunday (January 19). I'll pick a winner then!

Thanks for all you who stop by on a regular basis. Extra special thanks to those of you who comment on a regular basis!
ETA: (12:02 pm, CST, 1/20/08) Entries are now CLOSED for the Sunflower Seed. I don't have time to draw the winner right now, but I'll have one posted this evening when we get home! Thanks to all who have stopped by in the last few days!

10,000!!!

I am working on my swap cards tonight, but took a short break. Just noticed that my hit counter went past 10,000. Small by comparison to lots of other stamping blogs out there, but big to me!!! I think it may be worthy of a give away! Stay tuned, I'll see what I can dig up, probably to post tomorrow night. I'm sure there's something in this room that I can share. I'm thinking I'll call it "Sunflower Seeds". Anyone interested???

Friendship Sample

Here is a card I came up with tonight, a possible swap for one that's due WAY too soon!!! Somehow those deadlines always creep up on me!!

I used the Friendship Blooms set, one that as a customer you can earn FREE during Sale-A-Bration (Feb 1-Mar 17). Base is Wild Wasabi, background is Whisper White. I stamped the flourish image on the Wasabi ink pad, them removed the color from the flowers with a blender pen. Then added Lavender Lace ink with my marker. The center flower was stamped once on the base, then again on an additional layer that I cut out. For the layered flower, I curled the edges slightly over a pen, then attached over the previous image with the huge glue dot for dimension! The new Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain ribbon is across the bottom with the Friendship saying stamped on Wasabi and punched with the Key Tag punch. A flower punched with the Three for You punch was added. You might notice the added sparkle, although it doesn't scan well! All the dark purple centers were done with SU!'s NEW glitter! This is the "Orchid" color from the Fine Cosmo Set (p. 186), applied with 2-way glue.

LMK what you think. I have to decide if I can create 20+1 of these before the end of the week!

New Demo Websites!!!

SU! has finally released the new demonstrator business websites. They are very cool! Just wanted to post a quick note so you could all check it out. My web address is http://jenniferweide.stampinup.net. Feel free to bookmark it! If you happen to have it bookmarked already, please update it to remove the "www". It's not a major thing, but the sites were originally designed to not have that included, and it wasn't working earlier today by using it.

They still don't have online customer ordering, but we can hope for someday! You can sign up to be a demo thru my site though, you just have to contact me for a password. How cool is that??? If you'd like to discuss the reasons you should do that, please contact me!

I don't have a lot of personalized projects on there yet, but I will as time goes by! LMK what you think and if you need any project instructions or supplies!

For those of you in this area, I'm still looking for club members too! I'll be emailing again soon about it!

Weekend Sketch Challenge

I spent some time this evening trying out Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I'm so glad she's back stamping-she's such an inspiration!!! I knew I wanted to try it as soon as I saw it posted!

Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

I think it's another that's going to need to grow on me! I did break into another pack of new DP-the Bali Breeze. That's a record for me-usually they sit untouched on my shelf! Love the colors! But not sure I like the overall look. I also tried another new item that we have in the catty-Rub-Ons! I've never used them and I do like how easy they are to use! They seem to me though, to go against the whole concept of stamping! But, some of the samples in the new catty are awesome and I'm sure we'll see some great creations using them from all the wonderful stampers out there!

I started with a card base of Whisper White in 5-1/4 square. I needed to try that out with this sketch. Not sure I've ever done a square one before, but this sketch seemed to ask for it! I added a layer of the Teal print DP, then a strip of Pumpkin Pie DP tied with Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon. The white layer is also DP with added rub-ons. I stared at this for about an hour trying to see what I liked! Finally settled here. The scallop punch Purely Pomegranate is also layered with DP and has rub-ons added. They are quick and easy to use! I'm anxious to try out the white ones also. Click here for the catty page that features the styles we have available. Fun Fun!!

Hope you've all had a great weekend. I for one am not ready for a whole week of work starting tomorrow! It's gonna be a long one after the last few short weeks!

Sketch Challenge

I needed to stamp tonight, so I checked out the weekly Sketch Challenge on SCS. Not my usual style, but I think it turned out OK.

I do like this new Designer Paper-Ginger Blossoms!!! Very Pretty!

I started with River Rock textured CS for the base. Next, I layered a larger piece of the large flower print onto the coordinating Ruby Red CS. The smaller piece of dotted SP was added with the Groovy Guava double stitched ribbon tied around it. The flower was stamped in Ruby Red on Very Vanilla and colored lightly with Groovy Guava ink using a blender pen, then layered onto Groovy Guava. Brads were added by using the Paper Piercing template from the tool kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Day!

Once again today, I have a card featured on the Stampers Showcase at SU! For those of you who aren't demos, this is a daily feature on the SU! site for demonstrators. We send artwork in throughout the year, and SU! chooses several daily to be featured. It's really an honor!

This time it was this swap that I created when the Fall/Winter Catty was new.

Color is Groovy Guava with Chocolate Chip base and accent layers. LMK if you have any questions! Sorry for the reruns, but it's all I have time for!

Well, that's not 100% true. I do have a calendar (planner) that I modified last night that I will share as soon as I find time to take pics of it.

The NEW Catalog from SU! is available TODAY!!! Click this link to view it online if you don't have a copy yet. For those of you who are customers of mine, contact me if you'd like one. I'll be delivering in Beatrice before SH (at the usual place). Those of you in Lincoln I can get one too on my next trip in. If you'd like to be a customer, LMK and I'll make arrangements to get you a catty!

There is also a Sweet Treats special for January! Click HERE for all the details!

Also, a new project feature is available using the new Embrace Life set. Click here to view.

Happy New Year!!!

Hope everyone is off to a great start on the New Year! I'm glad to be off work, and to have been off since Friday afternoon. Who doesn't love a 4 day weekend??? Unfortunately I haven't found much time to stamp, but I have been enjoying some much needed down time. I also managed to get the Christmas decorations down, and some other cleaning done too!

My New Year got off to a great start early this morning when I found I have a card on the Stampers Showcase at SU! today! WOOHOO!! It's been a long time since I sent it in, but I'm glad it made it on. I posted it previously, when I created it back in June, but I'll share here again.

Unfortunately it's made with the In the Spotlight Hostess set that won't be available after today. But, I would bet there are other flower sets out there that would work just as well! Color is Soft Sky, background paper is the Prints DP in Soft Sky. Rhinestone brads to match in the center of the flowers. Tag corner punch on the layered corners. Black gingham ribbon.

Now maybe I'll be motivated to get stamping again!!

Last call for the Fall Winter Collection 2007!! Sales period ends TODAY, well, tonight just before midnight. Get those orders in NOW if there is anything you need! Here is the Retirement list again to check the stamp sets, and scroll down a couple posts for the accessories list. I'll have it updated shortly!

I also updated my demo site this weekend with new swap samples from the NEW CATTY! We demos are able to order the sets from the Preview Mini so those were used for this swap. Go check out my Art Gallery for some great creations!
