Bagelope Basket

This is the project I did with my club ladies Thursday night. Sorry the picture is a little fuzzy-I took several, but none were great. I like it when candy coordinates with the project! I was leaning towards using this Berry Bliss DSP that has Purely Pomegranate flowers on it. When I checked out the candy isle at the store, I found perfect coordinating wrappers on the Cherry Cordial Hershey Kisses. COOL!!! They are pretty tasty too-I went back today and got another bag!!

I found this great project on Cambria's blog-Stamp a Little Love Baby! She is one of the blogs I have linked on the left side, and she always has AWESOME things to share! The tutorial for these bagalope baskets is here. Great project Cambria-thanks for sharing!!!

The bagelope is made from a Confetti White envelope. We stamped the 3 flowers from One of Kind in Purely Pomegranate randomly all over the front and back. We took a piece of the Berry Bliss DSP and punched Key Tag Punch from the center. We layered the Berry Bliss over a Purely Pomegranate piece, and stamped the 'you're one of a kind' in Purely Pomegranate on the Purely Pomegranate. We layered this onto the center front of the envelope before opening it into the basket. We added a Stitched Purely Pomegrantate ribbon around the handle, and filled with kisses!

Club Samples

Last night was my monthly club gathering. I have such fun with my group, and we had a few extras this month so it was even more fun. Thanks ladies for making a bad day a whole lot better!!!

Here are the cards we made.

For this one we used the Paper Piecing technique using the Year after Year set and See You Around Jumbo wheel that are part of the Free Wheelin' special currently going on at SU! My scan colors are still a tad off, sorry! The base of the card is Certainly Celery. The wheel was used on Whisper White with Certainly Celery ink. We stamped the elephant twice with Basic Black-once in the center of the small Whisper White layer, and again on a piece of Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series paper. We cut the elephant only out (left the base, pull string, etc) and layered it on over the white stamped image. The cart and wheels were colored Celery with the marker. We added Black brads from the Vintage brads set to the center of the wheel & the eye of the elephant. The 'congratulations' is from the Phrases for a Friend set from the Occasions Mini catalog. Lastly we layered it all together tying Black gingham ribbon around the small celery layer.

This card uses the Tart & Tangy set from the Occasions Mini, along with the coordinating Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper and again, the Phrases for a Friend set. This was is quite simple but is an awesome look! Card base is Bashful Blue. We stamped the 'celebrate you!' in Real Red on the Bashful. The cherries were stamped using markers on the stamp for a two-color image. Cherries in Real Red, stem in Old Olive. We stamped that on a scrap piece of Whisper White and punched it out using the 1-3/8 circle punch. We layered that on a Real Red Scallop Punch and added dots with the White Gel pen. The Cherry print paper was layered over an Old Olive layer, and a Striped Red Grosgrain Ribbon was knotted around. Quick & easy!!!

I'll be back tomorrow with the Bagelope Basket that we made. Have a good weekend all! I for one am very glad it's Friday and I get two days off from the day job.

Happy Blogaversary and Easter Blessings as well! The umbrellas have reminded me to pack my umbrella because I'm heading for the Oregon coast this week and they are predicting rain:)

And for Seed 2, For a Friend, # 8 was chosen, here is Denise's comment:

I have daffodils in a pot that are all in bloom and my tulips are about six inches high or so...not blooms yet, but it's so exciting! I love seeing the daffodils all around town...they're my favorite part of spring!

Congrats ladies! I will be trying to email you, but please contact me if I haven't been successful. Sets will go in the mail as soon as I hear from you!

Thanks all for stopping by! I'm off to come up with club/workshop samples for Thursday evening.

Thank You

Here is the Thank You card that I decided to go with. Same layout as the Lavender one, different colors, no glitter. I won't say who they're going to yet so it may be a surprise in your mail box!!!

Card base is Apricot Appeal. Thank You is stamped in Pumpkin Pie on the Apricot. The large center flower image was first inked in Apricot Appeal, then "thumped" with the Pumpkin Pie marker. Technique is just as it sounds, take the brush end of your marker and thump in randomly over the Apricot ink. I turned the stamp several 1/4 turns during the process. You don't want to fill it with Pumpkin Pie, just do enough to blend the colors together in places.
Here is a close up of the flower so you can see better what I mean:

I did a similar process with the background. I inked it with Apricot, then colored over the butterflies and small flowers with Pumpkin, and thumped the larger flower images. White layers are Whisper White. Center Rhinestone brads are from the Fire Circle set. I tore the bottom of the background White layer with the tearing edge, and sponged on a little Apricot Appeal. Ribbon is Pumpkin Pie grosgrain.

Thanks for stopping by-hope you all had a Happy Easter! Remember that the Sunflower Seed Giveaways close Tuesday at 1 pm Central time. Scroll down and leave a comment if you haven't yet entered to win one of the sets!

Sunflower Seed 2-For a Friend

Next up is For a Friend, a current Level 1 Hostess set in the SU! catalog.

I tend to not use these hostess sets much, they aren't around long enough! but I know many of you out there would LOVE to have it! Leave a comment before 1 pm (Central Time) Tuesday, March 25 and it can be yours! For this one, tell me something (anything) about Spring. I'm very ready for it, and we're just starting to see a few signs that it might be arriving. I checked tonight, and my tulips are just peaking out of the ground! Has it arrived at your house yet??

Thanks all. I will still be back with the Thank you card I'm working on. I had a sick boy this week and it got me all off track. For some reason I chose to clean while home with him instead of stamping. Guess the thought of those germs getting one of the rest of us made me do it!

Have a good Easter weekend!!

Sunflower Seed 1-Weather or Not

Finally, I'm back. This week completely got away from me (again, I know!). It is still "this week" though! LOL!

I'm going to do 2 Sunflower Seeds in honor of my blogaversary!! I'll post in two separate posts so comments can be entered separate for each. You may enter each once, by leaving a comment. Since it's a holiday weekend, I'll leave this open til 1 pm Tuesday, Central Time. Winners will be drawn then.

First is the set Weather or Not, new unmounted. This was a Hostess Appreciation set from back when SU! did a special set for Hostesses with $400 or more in workshop sales. It's been hanging out on my shelf for quite a while and needs a new, loving home!!

Let's see, a topic for comments. Tell how you would use this set, or for what occasion. Remember, closing at 1 pm (Central Time) Tuesday, March 25.

Lavender Thank You

I've been wanting to play with this set, Pretty Amazing. The large flower image coordinates with the Pretty Petals background. I need to send some thank you notes, and this was my first attempt. It didn't make the cut, in part because I don't want to have to color 20 ribbons, nor do I have that much White Taffeta ribbon.

The color is a bit off as my scanner still has attitude issues. Guess I'm going to have to dig out my owners manual and see what I can do to straighten it up! Color is Lavender Lace. I stamped the background in Lavender on Whisper White, tore off the bottom and stamped thank you in Lavender, on Lavender. The ribbon was White Taffeta that I dyed with a sponge and Lavender Lace Classic Ink. The flower image was stamped with Lavender Lace Craft Ink, them embossed with Hologram Highlights embossing powder. I'm so going to miss that! I'm ordering some Iridescent Ice this week, but I just don't think I will like it as much. Guess I may have to start mixing my own!?!

I will post the card later this week that made the cut. I will be making quite a few of it, and want to get the cards in the mail first. Also, will be back later this week with a Sunflower Seed (blog candy) for my first Blogaversary, which was the 15th. I'm a little slow on everything right now, but hoping to get back on track. Really hoping that Spring is arriving soon here in Nebraska-the winter has been a long one and I'm ready to see some GREEN outside!!!

Have a great week all!!

Fold Swap

The monthly swap I participate in had a theme this month of "fun fold", using any set. I chose a gate fold for it's simplicity, and the Garden Whimsy set.

Sorry about the dark spot in the scan. My scanner isn't cooperating-it was giving me VERY funky colors, so I had to use our All-in-One. It apparently didn't like the hardware! Anyway, card base is Certainly Celery, background is Regal Rose. I wheeled the Regal Rose with two different jumbo wheels: first in Regal Rose with the See You Around wheel, then in Craft White with the Whimsy Wheel. Top layer has the butterfly stamped on Whisper White with Regal Rose. Edges of both the top White & Background Regal Rose layers are sponged with Regal Rose. I added dazzling diamonds to the spots on the butterfly with 2-way glue. The verse is stamped under the butterfly in Certainly Celery. The hardware is from the Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware kit and keeps the card closed.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Workshop Samples

I had a successful workshop Saturday with a great group of ladies! Some were old friends, some became new friends!! Thanks ladies!! Here are the two cards we did.

First, we used the Happy Birthday image from the So Many Scallops SAB set.

The colors are Ballet Blue & Pumpkin Pie. Have to say I started with the ribbon and went crazy from there! The hostess had also requested scallops. The end result seemed very happy to me, like a birthday card should be!!! The background is the jumbo wheel, Spot On with a Ballet Blue cartridge on Whisper White. The Pumpkin dots were added by dabbing a sponge dauber and applying with a twisting/press motion where needed. We stamped the scallop image twice, once in Pumpkin Pie and once in Ballet Blue both on Whisper White. The stamped Pumpkin scallop was punched with the Scallop Punch. The Ballet scallop had just the center punched with the 1-1/4 circle punch, and was layered onto a Ballet Blue circle punched with the 1-3/8 punch. We added a little "bling" to the candles by using Mono Multi glue & some of the Light Blue Fine Cosmo glitter. We layered the glittered image onto the Pumpkin stamped/punched scallop. We rounded the corners of the Whisper White & Pumpkin Pie layers. The Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain ribbon was tied around the white & all layers adhered together. We used two pieces of a Stampin' Dimensional to layer the scallop over the ribbon.

Next, we used the Bloomin' Beautiful set from the Occasions Mini. We stamped the main image in Basic Gray and colored with Elegant Eggplant & Old Olive watercolor crayons. We applied a little color to the images and blended with a blender pen. The layer behind the main mage is Basic Gray, card base is Elegant Eggplant, white layers are Shimmery White. Very pretty IRL!!! The background has the flower image stamped in Elegant Eggplant & the blossom definition image in Old Olive. Both the flower & definition were stamped off once on scratch paper first, to give a more subtle background. The edges of both white layers were sponged with Elegant Eggplant. The bloom is stamped in Basic Gray. Check out that ribbon slide-pretty cool huh!?! That is from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware. The ribbon is the new Old Olive Poly-twill. Also very cool!!

Don't forget-ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT of Sale-A-Bration!! Don't miss your chance to earn some of those great sets-FREE. They are all great sets. Contact me right away if you need to place an order!

That's it for me tonight, time change is catching up. I'm working on a swap, so I'll try to share that soon!!
