Happy Moments Birthday

Hello all, WOW, what a week! Too many stresses, too little time!!! Making time today to stamp! Actually that's all I've planned! For this first card, I combined the Color Challenge from Stampin' Royalty with a sketch I stumbled on over the weekend from Lisa for her Bloggers Challenge group. I'm not part of the group, but knew the sketch had lots of potential. Here are the colors, and the sketch.

Here is what I came up with, for a stamping friend with a birthday tomorrow!

Card base is Green Galore, background is Summer Sun. The background was textured with the large polka dot Texturz plate. The strips are Only Orange & Pixie Pink. They were textured with the small polka dot Texturz plate. The presents image is from the SAB set Happy Moments. I stamped it in Black Stazon on Whisper White and colored with the coordinating markers. I then grabbed my Versamark pad and inked all over it to apply Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Now it's all sparkly! Unfortunately hard to see via scan. The saying is from the same set, stamped in Pixie Pink and punched with the Word Window punch, layered on an Only Orange Modern Label punch. Two yellow Rhinestone brads are the final accent.

Enjoy, and play along with either challenge if you'd like. Back to stamping for me!!!

CCJC6 Glitter Sweet Pea

Last minute as usual, entering the weekly challenge at Create with Connie & Julie. I had the inspiration yesterday while on my elliptical, but couldn't find the time to create until tonight. Here is the sketch:

and here is what I did with it:

I realized when I went to scan that I didn't stamp anything on here! Oh well, guess that's OK. I just didn't think a saying was going to look right anywhere. Card base is Chocolate Chip. Background is Sweet Pea DSP from the Occasions Mini. For the stripes, first I added the two horizontal stripes by putting down Sticky Strip and applying Chocolate Stampin' Glitter from the Fine Supernova set. Next I put the Chocolate Chip satin ribbon down then added Sticky Strip stripes on each side and applied Aqua glitter to those. I have glitter everywhere and will probably still be sparkling tomorrow! Of course I can't find my Embossing Buddy or it would have been less sticky!! The Chocolate Chip flower was punched using the new Extra Large Fancy Flower punch on Textured Chocolate Chip CS. The Cherry Blossom Embosslit was used on Taken with Teal CS for the next layer of flower. Lastly, I put a jumbo Glue Dot in the center and applied the Pink glitter from the same set, Supernova. The leaves were cut from Old Olive CS with the Little Leaves Sizzlet.

That makes it a day for me! Hoping I can sleep as 5:30 will be here all too soon!!! Happy Friday all!!

SSC138 Razzle Butterfly

Even though I'm very tired tonight, I dug up just enough energy to play along with the Stamping 411 sketch of the week. Probably only succeeded because I had started last night and had most of the idea already. I like the sketch though, not so sure about how my card came out. So I may have to try again when it hasn't been such a long day!! Here is what I came up with.

Card base is Rich Razzleberry textured cardstock. DSP strip from the Cottage Wall set, edged with the Scallop Trim Border punch. White Satin ribbon. main image flowers stamped in Orchid Opulence around the edge, some full strength, some off once. Small Razzleberry flowers added in. Layered on Orchid Opulence. Butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit in Rich Razzleberry were layered over. The gems on the butterflies are the stones out of clear Rhinestone brads. Needed a little bling! No sentiment added, but plenty of room too if I decide later.

Short & Sweet tonight. Have a good Wednesday all. I'm calling it a night so I can be up and ready to get #2 son to BB practice at 6 am. YUCK!!!

Abundant Hope Easter

Here is my swap creation for this month. I had an inspiration a few weeks ago while playing, and decided to try the craft frame in the Big Shot with a Texturz plate to see if I could get a look similar to what we've all been doing with the Embossing folders. It took a little time to get the sandwich right, but I finally got it, and LOVE all the options I now have for embossed backgrounds with the open oval!!

For this one, I used the SU! exclusive plate, Perfect Details. Card base is Pretty in Pink, background is Whisper White. I rounded the corners and sponged the edges with Pretty in Pink. I stamped the Abundant Hope daffodils in the center of the nonembossed oval with Black Stazon. I colored with my Pretty in Pink and Mellow Moss markers. The Easter Blessings was punched from a scrap piece of Whisper White with the Modern Label punch, and layered on a larger Modern Label of Pretty in Pink cut with the Punch Window die. Final touch is the Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon.

Here is what I did for the sandwich: from the bottom up: 2 cutting plates, 2 sheets cardboard, 1 cutting plate, texturz plate, cardstock, silicone rubber, craft frame, impressions pad. PLEASE remember every Big Shot is a little different and what worked for me may NOT work for you. If it feels too tight, don't do it-modify the sandwich! You can add pressure with another sheet of cardboard or cardstock.

Let me know what you think! Comments are ALWAYS appreciated!! Thanks for stopping by.

CCJC5 Bright Neighbors!

The challenge this week over at Create with Connie & Julie is a color challenge. The colors: Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry & Pumpkin Pie. Oddly enough, they are fun colors together! The Welcome Neighbor DSP pack that is FREE during Sale-a-Bration right now has those colors in it so I started there. And I decided if I was going bright, I was going all the way!

Card base is Old Olive with a Whisper White layer. Background is several strips of the Welcome Neighbor DSP-one for each color in the challenge. I grabbed the four ink pads and stamped a row of houses and trees using the Good Neighbors SAB set. I actually resorted to using the stamp-a-ma-jig too. Couldn't get the roof on the tall house straight any other way! Next I added a Crushed Curry ribbon and a layered heart using the saying from Whimsical Words, another SAB set. The heart is layered using the Full Heart punch for the saying, the new Embosslit Scalloped Heart of Hearts, and the Punch Window Heart.

I like it-colors are always welcome this time of year-it's either bright white outside with snow, or very dreary. For some reason though, I have the words "little pink houses" going through my head! LOL! Hope everyone had a good Thursday. Off to fix dinner and work on some laundry.

Bursting Hearts

I've wanted to try one of these since seeing Julie's preview week creation over at Create with Connie & Julie. I finally took time to give it a shot to play along with the Stampin Royalty challenge:to create something with a Love or Valentines theme. It came out OK, could maybe be better though. After looking back at Julie's, I like the different mix of hearts she has instead of the bigger hearts like I did. Oh well, maybe next time!

This is a square 5-1/4" card. Card base is Chocolate Chip with a Real Red layer behind the Very Vanilla background. I punched several hearts from the Sending Love DSP using the Full Heart punch. I cut a few with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit & the Punch Window Heart for layers. The ribbon is the new Real Red Satin and has a Chocolate Chip corduroy button attached. Small Love hearts from the I {Heart} Hearts set are scattered around the bottom.

Off to TRY and be productive with my day! Thanks all for stopping by.

Birthday Turtle SCCSC3

I played along last night with this week's sketch from Stampin' Connection. Here is the sketch:

and here is what I did with it. It would be a great kids birthday card, boy or girl! And most all the images in the set the turtle is from, Fox and Friends from the Occasions Mini, would work with it!

Card base is Old Olive with a So Saffron layer behind the DSP. The DSP is from the Tall Tales pack. Old Olive ribbon around the center, Crushed Curry corduroy buttons below the ribbon. Happy Birthday is from the set A Little Birthday Cheer. It was stamped in Old Olive and punched with the Modern Label punch. I punched a second Modern Label from Old Olive, cut it in half, and layered behind on each end. The turtle was stamped in Old Olive on Whisper White and his spots colored with the So Saffron marker. Layered on So Saffron & Old Olive and attached. Quick and easy! Play along if you'd like!!

You're Too Kind

I also played along tonight with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge for the week. Here is the sketch:

And here is what I did with it:

The card base is Chocolate Chip textured cardstock (click the photo to enlarge & see detail). I grabbed the Sweet Pea DSP stack again and choose a couple of Pretty In Pink and one Chocolate Chip print. The Chocolate Chip I used for the border layer behind the Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon. I punched it with the new Scallop Trim Border punch. The Pretty in Pink Prints I stamped with the Vintage Vogue stamp set vine image in Chocolate Chip. They are layered on Chocolate Chip cardstock for a tone on tone effect. The focal image was stamped on Whisper White, the small flower from Vintage Vogue in Pretty in Pink and "you're too kind" from Whimsical Words in Chocolate Chip. That was punched using the 1-3/8" circle punch and layered on a Scallop Circle punched from Chocolate Chip textured CS. That is layered on a Pretty in Pink 1-3/4" circle punch. Just barely shows, but it's enough for effect.

Busy weekend on tap, but hope to be back soon!! Have a good one!!

Cheep Talk SUDSOL sketch

Made time to play tonight, it's been a long week. And of course we got what we didn't need overnight-more snow. YUCK!! It was very slick out this morning getting to work and school, but slushy by lunch. Guess we'll survive!

First up tonight is a sketch challenge from SUDSOL. I was very intrigued by the layout, and decided to play along. Here is what I came up with.

The original sketch had an oval in the middle. I couldn't think of an easy way to do that (since the Coluzzle is retired), so I opted for rectangle. I started with the Sweet Pea DSP stack and picked two that I thought would go together. Then coordinated all colors from there. The card base is Sahara Sand, followed by a layer of Taken with Teal. I cut the DSP pieces to layer over leaving some of the Teal showing through. On the edge of the top and bottom outside edge I added 3 5/16" Jumbo brads in Chocolate Chip. I used the Mat Pack for perfect placement. I also used the Ticket Corner punch on the outside corners of the layers.

The main image is stamped using the Cheep Talk set. Not one I go to very often, but it seemed like it would work and came out OK.

Happy weekend all!

Sweat Pea Royalty

Home all day, and I can't get anything posted til after 11 pm? Where are my priorities?? he he. Not a very productive Monday here, but I did get this card done for the Stampin' Royalty sketch challenge.

Card base is Taken with Teal. I grabbed my Sweet Pea DSP stack and coordinated colors. DSP layers, Old Olive striped grosgrain ribbon. Tag made using the Tag corner punch not either of our tag punches. I grabbed the stapler and added So Saffron & Rose Red grosgrain ribbon to the top of the tag. Sweet Pea stitched felt accents. And words from the Whimsical Words SAB set. Pretty quick and easy!! Grab your favorite DSP and give it a whirl!
