Whoops! More Club Cards

Sorry for the long delay in posting! Life really gets in the way sometimes-LOL!!! So much for it slowing down after school got out. We've started baseball games, so there went two evenings last week. The rest of my time has been spent trying to get things in the ground! We've been so rainy that we are very delayed in getting the garden in, and my annual flowers. Finally though, we did the garden last night and I finished flowers today. Next, to get the house back in order!!

Back to the cards!! I'm going to post both of the other two cards from club last weekend. That way I have to go stamp more!!!

First up was this one using Elements of Style and the emboss resist technique. The Top Note was cut from Kraft (soon to be Crumb Cake) cardstock. We stamped on it the floral image with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The hummingbird and saying were also heat embossed with Clear powder, but the ink was Not Quite Navy Craft. The saying is directly on the Top Note, the hummingbird was on a small piece of Kraft so that we could cut it out and attach with dimensionals. In the center over the embossed floral image we sponged Classic Not Quite Navy ink. Were it's embossed, it resists the ink! Too cool, and quick and easy! We also sponged the edges with the Not Quite Navy. On the edges of the Top Note we punched a slot with the Horizontal slot punch and threaded a Kraft Taffeta ribbon through. Here is the trick: Attach your Top Note, with the ribbon threaded under, to the background layer with adhesive across the top and bottom but not in the center. This allows your ribbon to slide and you can get your bow tied where you want it to be. The background is a Soft Suede piece that was textured with the new Square Lattice embossing folder. Adjust your ribbon so that your bow can be knotted on the side. Attach the background to the Not Quite Navy card base and you're done!!!

This last one is also a quick and easy card! I completely cased it from another demo, Deann Oliver. She shared her version on SUDSOL recently. I added the brads, but otherwise it's exactly like hers!! Card base is textured Soft Suede. Melon Mambo DSP with a cardstock accent at the top, punched with the Scallop Edge punch. Vintage brads in the bottom corner of the Melon Mambo, placed using my Mat Pack. Watercolor Trio is the stamp set, flower colored with Melon Mambo & Soft Suede markers.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope to be back soon!!!

Easel Watercolor Trio

Here is my most recent swap creation. Love the way it turned out, even if it was a little stressful getting 20 in the mail last week!! I never give myself enough time!! I also did this with my club girls yesterday and it was very well received, even though we had parts going every which way for a while!! Didn't help that I forgot the markers too, but we made it work!!

Here is the front, which looks like a regular card from this vantage point. Card base is Chocolate Chip, background accent is Regal Rose, and background Naturals Vanilla. I stamped the tall stem image from Watercolor Trio across the lower center of the card, some full strength, some off once. Then I came back over with the curved stem/flower image in Regal Rose. Butterflies across the top in Regal Rose, and a Chocolate Chip satin ribbon knotted at the bottom. The focal point is cut using the Ovals die for the Big Shot. A recent acquisition for me, and I'm wonder why I didn't notice & get it earlier?? Perfect size for this flower image from Watercolor Trio. The flower was colored with Regal Rose & Chocolate Chip markers. The Naturals Ivory edges are all sponged with Regal Rose.

Here is the inside of the card. I don't normally do much with the inside, but for an easel card it needs something to lean against! So, we set another piece of Regal Rose cardstock inside, and added a strip of Chocolate Chip that we had used the Eyelet border punch across the top, and another piece of Naturals Vanilla. On this we stamped one of the sayings from Favorite Thoughts, and a few more butterflies. When we attached this, we put half dimensionals across the top, regular snail on the bottom. This gives it just enough lift to catch the card front, see below!

This is a view from the front when standing up. I got the directions I used here on Splitcoaststampers, and I went with "optional" measurements for a traditional sized card. The card base here starts out 11 x 4-1/4, and you score at 5-1/2 & 8-1/4. The 5-1/2" fold gives you the back of the card, fold the 8-1/4 up. To this we will attach another piece of Chocolate Chip, card front size (5-1/2 x 4-1/4) with Sticky Strip. From there you add your layers and embellishments and you're done!

Let me know if you have any questions!!!

SUDSOL Blog Tour!!

This was my post from the first ever SUDSOL blog tour. The links have been removed, but the benefits of SUDSOL remain for those of you who are demos! Click any of the links in the following post and take the 2 week free trial!!!

I'm excited to be a part of the first tour!! SUDSOL has been a part of my stamping career since shortly after I joined SU! My upline was never close, and I'm honestly not sure if I even still have a direct above me?? So, when I want know something, I go to SUDSOL!!! Actually I don't have to go looking very often, the daily messages and samples keep me VERY informed!!! And then there's the website: the database is packed with forms and ideas to help your business; and the gallery has awesome samples, some exclusive to SUDSOL!!

Our mission for the tour was to create demonstratable samples using items from the Summer Mini catalog. Here is what I came up with! Make sure you click each picture for a bigger view to see ALL the detail!!

First, using the Elements of Style set. I started with a Real Red base and textured it with the Square Lattice embossing folder. Love that new folder!!! The Top Note was cut from Naturals Ivory cardstock. I first stamped the saying from Favorite Thoughts in Real Red near the top right. Next I added two swirls to fill in the rest of the space. Most of the swirl was inked with Soft Suede. I used a blender pen to remove the ink from the flower and used a Crushed Curry marker on the petals, and Real Red in the center. The hummingbird was stamped on another piece of Naturals Ivory, cut out and attached with dimensionals. The edge of the Top Note was sponged with Soft Suede and I added Vintage brads at each point on the Top Note.

Next up is this creation using the Watercolor Trio set. One of my now favorite sets!!! Card base is Always Artichoke stamped with the taller branch image in Always Artichoke. Elegant Eggplant layer that was punched on both the top and bottom edge with the Eyelet Border punch. Whisper White top layer was stamped repeatedly with the flower image. I inked the image using my markers: Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke & So Saffron. I also used the Stamp-a-ma-jig for even positioning. After the stamping, I put the whole strip down and inked it with Versamark, then poured Iridescent Ice embossing powder over it and heated. WOW-very pretty!! The saying was stamped on Whisper White and punched with the Modern label punch. Butterflies added in So Saffron. I also embossed this. Quick and easy technique to share with your stampers!!!

Last card creation is this one using the Sweet Scoops set. What a fun set!! Card base is Chocolate Chip, background is Whisper White textured with the Perfect Details plate using the craft frame to leave an untextured oval in the center. I stamped three sets of ice cream cones with Chocolate Chip & Pretty in Pink in the center. Actually I stamped the saying first, as far down as I could fit it, then did the cones just above it. I double stacked the center one. Also for the center cone & double stack I cut out a second image of each and attached with dimensionals for extra effect. The edges of the white layer were sponged with Pretty in Pink and a striped Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon is knotted around the bottom.

Lastly I did this 3D item-a Milk Carton. This die is still available for the Big Shot from the Occasions Mini. The Watercolor Trio set was perfect to use on it! The box was cut from Rich Razzleberry. The taller branch image was stamped on the box in Rich Razzleberry. For the main image, I inked the flower stamp with Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry & Old Olive. But I stamped it off once before stamping on my cardstock so I got a very subtle image. Then I did the saying, Birthday Wishes in full strength. Punched with the Wide Oval and attached with dimensionals. Final accent, a Mini Library clip on to to hold it closed.

That's it for me today. Are you ready to take the 2-week free trial?? Click here if so to sign up now!! I don't think you'll regret it!!! Remember the gallery I mentioned earlier?? Want to see what's in mine?? Click Here to take a peak, but of course only if you're a member!!! It has samples not seen anywhere else! I just completed a three month Design Team term with April so they are fairly recent samples too!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope to see you here again, & on SUDSOL very soon!!!

SSC150 Priceless

Well, I missed Mr Linky, but here is my creation for Stamping 411's last Saturday sketch. Oh well, my goal was just to get something made today! Here is the sketch:

and here is what I came up with. I ended up moving my sentiment to the bottom, but otherwise it's like the sketch.

Card base is Basic Gray with Melon Mambo & Shimmery White using the Priceless set. Background was stamped with the swirl images, both large and small. Butterflies on the main image, Melon Mambo DSP at the bottom, edged with the Eyelet Trim Border punch. Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon and Basic Gray Corduroy buttons. Not bad?

Now, off to the rest of my day! Need to crank out a swap today and haven't even started!! And a few other have to things today too. YIKES!!

Happy Graduation!

Guess what I found when I cleaned up my room a bit this weekend?? The Happy Grad stamp that I wanted for my last card and couldn't find! Imagine that!!! So, here are two versions of the card I was originally thinking of for the last sketch I did. One for a demo friend's son, and one in local school colors just in case I need one this weekend! Wow, a card made in advance-what a concept!!!

This one is going in the mail. Card base is Pumpkin Pie, textured with the new Square Lattice folder. Stars were cut with the Big Shot in Pumpkin Pie & Basic Black. Happy Graduation is on Whisper White in Pumpkin Pie, layered on Basic Black.

This one is Crete High School colors, Real Red & Brilliant Blue. Same details as above! Back to creating!!

Clean & Simple

A sketch to try and get the mojo going tonight. Not sure if it worked! :) This is sketch FTL89 from the Clean & Simple blog.

And this is what I did with it. Not my original idea, but what I came up with! Not too bad.

Card base is Pumpkin Pie, textured with the Petals a Plenty embossing folder in the Big Shot. Flowers were punched with the 5-Petal Flower punch, in both Pumpkin & Ballet Blue. The saying is from All Holidays. Pumpkin corduroy buttons in the center for the final accent. It was quick!!

My original idea for the sketch was the Happy Grad set from the Summer Mini with Stars, in school colors of course. Turns out I didn't order the set-didn't think I would need it!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!

SSC149 True Friend

My card for this week's Stamping 411 sketch challenge. Here is their sketch:

And here is what I did with it. Still not much creativity here, no time! Such a busy time of year with the end of the school year. My boys will be out in just over 2 weeks! YIKES!!!

Card base is Elegant Eggplant, background Always Artichoke with the new Square Lattice embossing folder. Loving that new folder and seeing it everywhere!!! Images are from True Friend. I stamped the main image on Naturals Ivory using my markers in Elegant Eggplant & Always Artichoke. Background strip inked in Elegant Eggplant. The 'friend' is from the saying in the set, 'a true friend is you friend'. I just inked the top 'friend' with my Elegant Eggplant marker. I added Always Artichoke brads to the center of the main flower, and on the saying on both ends. Pretty quick and easy!!!

Hope you're all having a great week! Thanks for stopping by!!

Royalty Flowers

This week's challenge at Stampin' Royalty was to use our punches. So, that's what I did. I wasn't feeling overly creative tonight after a long weekend, so I went with the flowers using the Scallop Circle punch. I've seen and loved these for quite a while, but never took time to make any. So, here is my card:

Regal Rose again, sorry I can't seem to get away from it! I was thinking Coneflowers, and this is the closest pink I could get. The card base is Regal Rose. Background is Very Vanilla textured with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, leaving the oval open in the middle. LMK if you need to know how to do that! I grabbed the Stem Sayings set and chose the "what can i say? you made my day!" saying for the stems. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the placement I wanted. The center stem has the full saying, the side two just the "you made my day!". The flowers were punched from Regal Rose using the Scallop Circle punch. I also ran them through the Big Shot using the embossing folder. I then cut into the center of each to make petals. In the center is a Chocolate Chip corduroy brad with embroidery thread in the center. I found my "stash" of thread from the cross stitch days and pulled out one that looked Regal Rose! Buttons were attached with glue dots (2 mini) and the flowers were attached with dimensionals.

Hope you've all been enjoying the Royal Blog Tour!! Welcome to those of you who have decided to join me on a regular basis! I'm feeling like a Rock Star with all the comments and hits!!! Have a great week all!!!!!

CCMC1 Watercolor Trio

Made some time to stamp tonight, after spending lots of time today looking at the fabulous items on the Royal Blog Tour! Wow!! Anyway, I've joined another special group, this time Create with Connie & Mary. They posted a sketch challenge today and I wanted to play along! Here is the sketch:

and here is what I did with it! I grabbed my new favorite set, Watercolor Trio. You can order this as of today!!!

Card base is Certainly Celery. Background is Rose Romance. I'm still in the mood for flowers!!! I textured the background with the Finial Press Embossing Folder. The images are stamped with Certainly Celery & Regal Rose on Shimmery White. Corners are rounded. White Satin ribbon was added at the bottom. They saying is punched with the 1-1/4 circle and layered on the 1-3/8 circle. The edges are sponged: the back layer with Certainly Celery, the flower layer & circle with Regal Rose. Fun fun!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you had some stamping time in your weekend!!! Don't forget the Summer Mini products are available as of today!!
