Lovely as a Tree Father's Day

2nd card of the night, meant for the Stampin' Royalty Masculine theme of the week, but missed Mr. Linky. Oh well, you can still see it! And just like the last post, it can easily be a Thinking of You or Birthday card. This one was super quick and easy!

Colors here are Garden Green, Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft) and Chocolate Chip. This background was also textured with the wooden craft frame in the sandwich to leave the center untextured. The texture around the oval is very light but noticeable in person. I used the other side of the wood-grain plate on this one, it's kind of a plaid. The main tree was stamped first, inking the stamp with markers. I then masked that one and stamped the two behind after stamping them off once to lighten the ink. Saying again from Teeny Tiny Wishes on oval punches. Edges on the background layer were sponged with Chocolate Chip, and the texture lightly with Garden Green.

Storm's a rolling in, time to move away from the windows!! I'm ready for a change in the weather pattern!!!

Autumn Days Father's Day

Stamping & posting in a rush tonight, trying to beat another storm that is coming. My stamp room is upstairs in our two story house that sits alone on a hill-not a place to be when the weather isn't looking good!!! I got two cards made though, here is the first for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge of the week-Father's Day.

Card base is the new Cajun Craze. Coordinating colors by the Color Coach, Perfect Plum & Always Artichoke. The background layer is Confetti Cream textured with the wood grain like texture plate and craft frame so that the center is not textured. The pheasant was inked with Cajun Craze, then thumped with the Perfect Plum & Always Artichoke markers. It kind of blends all the color together, but it also breaks up the solid look of the Cajun Craze. The textured was sponged lightly with Always Artichoke. The leaves were stamped with all three colors around the non textured oval. Ribbon along the bottom is Very Vanilla grosgrain with Build a Brad on the edge of each. In the center, Happy Fathers Day from Teeny Tiny Wishes on ovals.

I missed Fathers Day, but this would be a great Thinking of You or Birthday card as well!

APP3 Fast & Fabulous!

I did manage to sneak in a little stamping time tonight. I should be sleeping, but oh well!! Here is the sketch from Always Playing with Paper for their challenge this week.

And here is what I did with it. Definitely a Fall feeling card, not summer, but that's just how it came out! Pumpkin Pie is the only wide ribbon I own at the moment!

Card base is Chocolate chip, background is Pumpkin Pie textured with the Petals a Plenty embossing folder. The images stamped are from the hostess set Fast & Fabulous in Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Chip. The Daisies#2 die was used to cut flowers from both Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Chip and a 5/8" Chocolate Chip brad atttaches them all together. The saying is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is punched with the Word Window & Modern Label.

That's all for tonight!!

Welcome

This is a decorative plate that hangs out on the bar in my kitchen. I decided over the weekend it was finally time to get rid of the hearts on it (from February-YIKES!!). This is the new summer look!!

I wanted something bright and cheery for summer. I found the roll of yellow dotted ribbon in my closet and started there. My kitchen has greens in it, and my decor has sunflowers so this coordinates well. Its the Flower Fancy set stamped with Craft ink in Yoyo Yellow, outlined in Summer Sun and Always Artichoke leaves. If I had new color craft spots it would have been Daffodil Delight! The welcome is done with the retired Well-Worn Alphabet. The plate was a gift from a friend many years back (thank you Lisa!!) and I love changing it with the seasons. I know this particular plate was from a party plan company and I'm not sure if they are still in business, but I have seen similar items in the major craft stores. Once in a while it gets put away, but never for long.

I had every intention of stamping today, but so far it hasn't happened. I've been cleaning and running errands and am heading out soon for baseball. Not looking forward to that, but need to go support the 2nd Crete Pony team then be there for Kyle's game. It's warm out and horribly humid. Yuck, but Good Luck to BOTH Pony teams!!

Flower Fancy SSC156

My creation tonight while waiting up for #1 son's arrival home. He's been helping with the South Nebraska Shrine Bowl team all week, and the game was tonight. This is his 3rd or 4th year of helping and it's a great experience for him! He's in need of some rest though after a busy week!!

For the Stamping 411 sketch of the week:

Here is my creation, using a new to me stamp set, Flower Fancy. I've always liked it but didn't own it until recently! I waited to redeem my SAB earned sets until the retirement list came out and this one made the cut!!!

Card base is the new Daffodil Delight. Background is a piece of Whisper White layered under Old Olive top and bottom pieces that went through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder. The Whisper White in the center was stamped with the small flower and leaf. To get the lighter image I stamped off the Daffodil Delight once before stamping onto the cardstock. The edge of the Whisper White/Old Olive is lined with the new Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. The main image is the large flower, again stamped off once for the solid image. Saying from the hostess set Occasional Quotes punched with the large & scallop ovals.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Cut Above

Apparently late night inspiration was a good thing for me this week! I was chosen as one of the top picks at the new blog I found, Always Playing with Paper for the card below. YEAH!! It's always such an honor!! and an inspiration to go create something!!

Studio Sketch swap card

I made 21 of these last night, finishing them early this morning for my monthly package headed to Minnesota. Turns out I didn't need to kill myself to get them done, I was a day ahead of schedule, but now I can move on to other tasks!!!

Card base is the new In Color, Concord Crush. My brain keeps trying to make grape something out of that, but Concord Crush is the official name!! The image is from a new set called Studio Sketches. Since I like wine, this image called to me but then I struggled a little with what saying to use. Until I stumbled on this one from Hope Happens. I thought it worked great, kind of a stop and smell the roses message!! The image and words were stamped with Jet Black Stazon on Naturals White cardstock. The image was colored with a blender pen using Concord Crush, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso & Basic Gray ink. It looks a little faint in the scan, but in real life it's not. Black grosgrain around the center and a Mini Library clip for a final accent. I'm feeling very challenged right now with few accessories and ribbons. Think my first full new catalog order is going to be very few stamps and lots of accessories & ribbon!!

Have a good weekend all!!

Top Pick!

Top Picks

Ok, so maybe my day is looking up, now that it's almost over-LOL! Just checked the Stampin' Royalty blog and my card was a top pick for the week!!! COOL!!! Here is the card again, click here for details.

Because I Care APP2

Found another challenge I couldn't resist. And, I tried to post this card this morning but Blogger was not cooperating. and it was my only chance today until now!! Long day, ugly baseball game. A loss on the road sure makes it a LONG trip home!!

Anyway, the challenge was a color one, and the picture was just too pretty not to play along!! And the colors were perfect for a stamp set that I hadn't tried yet. Here is the color challenge from Always Playing with Paper.

Pacific Point, Old Olive & Bashful Blue, perfect for a hydrangea!! Well, at least I think, I've never grown one but I've seen lots of them colored in blue shades!! The stamp set is Because I Care, an awesome Level 1 set from the new catalog. Love it!

Card base is Pacific Point with a Square Lattice textured background of Bashful Blue. The Top Note was cut from Naturals White cardstock, then stamped with the hydrangea image in Jet Black Stazon. I colored the flower with classic ink & a blender pen, first going over most all of it with bashful. I came back over to accent with Pacific Point for shading. Finally I used my white gel pen in the very centers. The leaves/stem are Old Olive. Edges of the Top Note are sponged with Bashful Blue. Gold brads were added at the top 3 points, and the saying at the bottom. Quick and easy!

Royalty Inspiration

Wow, another card! and I spent the afternoon taking my soon to be thirteen year old and two friends to the movies & dinner. I probably won't post tomorrow though as it's Kyle's birthday. We gave him his present tonight because we were all here (& Grandpa)-not sure if that will happen tomorrow!! So, I'll be helping him get his new iPod set up-its charging now!!!

OK, on to the card! This was for the Stampin' Royalty challenge this week-an inspiration challenge. Here was the inspiration:

And here is what I did with it. More new & returning colors. Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose and Peach Parfait. I started with color inspiration, and then the pot/flowers.

Card base is Wild Wasabi. Background is Peach Parfait that I ran through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. It still needed something, so i dabbed my Craft White ink on lightly to just color the raised dots. It smudged just a little onto the background, but it's barely noticeable. The pot is made from the Wide Oval punch by cutting off the top and bottom. The images are all from For All You do, including the dots on the pot. I cut the flowers out and attached with clear rhinestone brads. A white taffeta ribbon is knotted around the Peach layer and around the pot.

Happy Monday all!!! It sure feels good to be back to stamping!!! Need to get to work on that swap though and quit playing!!

Hello Again FTL 94

Hope you are all having a good weekend! Some productivity here yesterday in the stamp room both in organizing & sorting, and in stamping! Today we are making movie plans for #2 sons birthday (which is tomorrow) since he isn't playing baseball. Here is another card I made last night, this time for the Clean & Simple sketch FTL 94. Here is the sketch:

And here is what I did with it.

Color is Melon Mambo, because that is the DSP that I have. The set I used is Hello Again, newly mounted & first time inked!! The strip of DSP on the right is layered on Whisper White that I stamped the butterfly & burst image on. I punched an Extra Large Fancy Flower from Melon Mambo & added a Whisper White 1-3/8" circle in the center. I stamped the flower image & butterfly on Whisper White, cut the out and attached with dimensionals to the white circle. The flower punch was attached with dimensionals. The hello was punched from Whisper White with the small oval punch and layered onto a Melon Mambo large oval. Pretty quick and simple!!

SSC155 Greenhouse Gala

More sneak peeks!!! This card was created for the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch using new goodies from the new catalog!! Here is the sketch:

And here is what I did with it. My first thought was to grab the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch, but then I realized this new DSP is full of big flowers!!! I chose the more muted colors in the set! Colors here are Pear Pizzaz, Baja Breeze & Chocolate Chip. Pear Pizzaz is a new In Color (that will be around for 2 years!!). Baja Breeze is a returning In Color.

Card base is Pear Pizzaz with a background layer of Chocolate Chip and then half layers of printed DSP in Pear Pizzaz & Baja Breeze. The top edge of the Baja was edged with the Scallop Trim border punch which has made its return in the new catalog (YEAH!!). The flowers were cut from the DSP page and attached with dimensionals. A Chocolate Chip satin ribbon is layered around the Baha, under the flower. The saying is from the Full of Life set.

Pretty simple really. Hope you are all having a good weekend! Rained out here from baseball so getting bonus time at home. Made some more progress on sorting out my stamp room today, now need to go work up a swap card and make 20+! Thanks for stopping by!

Ordering Retiring Items

Hello all, just wanted to send a quick note and say I'll be putting in an order on Monday for retiring items. If you're close to me and would like to add something, please get in touch with me before Noon Monday. This is a great way to avoid the minimum shipping charge! And those of you in Beatrice or from Stamp Heaven, I am going to try very hard to get down there on the 25th so I can deliver then!!

Take a second look at the lists as they did add at least one stamp set, and the accessories list is being updated as product sells out.

Here are links to the retirement lists for :

Notes for the Accessories list: make sure you check the far right column. If it has a red X the item is no longer available. Also make sure and check the "reconfigured" column. If that is marked, the item will be available but in a different format. For instance, most of the punches are in that category. Only a few are actually being retired. If you have any question as to what is or isn't in the new book, contact me-I have it!!

Thanks all & hope to hear from you!!

6/13 Edited to add: the stamp set that I know was added is Music Expressions. Seems like I saw mention of a few others that aren't in the book, but I can't find that list now. You can always email me and I will look it up in the new book if there is something specific you wonder about.

And note, when you pull up the stamp set list, there should be a way to increase the size of it on your screen. At the top of my screen I have plus & minus buttons with a percentage beside them. Click the plus to enlarge it!!

Two in one night!! FTL 93

Made time to stamp tonight, whether I really had it or not!!! Sometimes, ya just gotta!!!

This sample is for the Clean & Simple sketch challenge, FTL 93. Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with, using NEW things from the NEW SU! catalog!!

The color here is Concord Crush, one of the In Colors for the next 2 years. I love it, but of course I'm a purple fan!!! Card base is Basic Black, background is Concord textured with the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder for the Big Shot. The flowers are from the new Level 2 hostess set, Fast & Fabulous. LOVE 2 stamp flower sets!!! The flowers are stamped on Shimmery White with a Basic Black layer behind. The "inside" of the flowers is in Concord Crush, the outline Basic Black. 5/8" Basic Black grosgrain ribbon is accented by Filigree brads. The saying is from the new Level 3 set Occasional Quotes. Should have punched a Concord scallop oval, but used black instead. Oh well!

Enjoy, and I hope to be back soon!

Finally a Post!!! CCMC102

Sorry again, seems like I'm always apologizing lately for not posting!!! This is a tough time of year with baseball & summer chores. And, I've been sorting out my stamp room to deal with all the changes! Retiring colors + stamps + accessories = MESS!!! My room is always organized chaos, but it's a little worse than normal at the moment making it a little tough to stamp! I have successfully pulled my retiring colors and added folders for the new colors though. Ink pads are sorted, just need to pull out the retiring. And I've started sorting through stamp sets. But the even better news is I have in my possession NEW items!! Colors, sets, ribbon! YEAH!!

The first card up tonight is for the Create with Connie & Mary weekly challenge. The challenge this week is a color one, and here is what we were given.

And here is what I came up with. I changed up the colors a bit because I've already retired my retiring colors!

My colors: Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi & Daffodil Delight. Background is textured with the Square Lattice folder. The image is from the Very Thankful set, the Ronald McDonald set of the current catalog. What a great cause that set supports! I've neglected it this year, but decided I needed to at least get the set so $2 goes to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The turtle was stamped on Whisper White with Jet Black Stazon. I colored him with blender pens and Classic ink. No markers yet in all these new colors. The ribbon you see behind the turtle is the Daffodil Delight in the NEW 1/8" Taffeta ribbon.

Simple & Sweet!!! Don't miss your chance to own this Very Thankful set!! Time is running out!!

Chalkboard Ovals

Hello all! Let me start by saying-I will stamp again!!! It's been a crazy few days. I spent the weekend getting my flowers and garden in. It looked great around the house Sunday when I was done. Then Tuesday evening a thunderstorm worked its way through and hailed & poured 2+ inches of rain! Not so pretty now, but nothing is destroyed just beaten down. It should all come back!!

I did do a project over the weekend that I've been wanting to do since I first saw these Chalkboard Decor Elements. Here are my coffee jars with their new style!!

A little background. For Christmas I bought my boys a "Cocomotion". It makes hot chocolate or instant coffees in a matter of minutes. I thought they'd like it for hot chocolate, turns out they prefer cappuccinos and such! (Looks like I need to work on spelling cappuccino correctly-oops!) I ordered some of those in bulk online and found these square jars to store them in. The jars are about 7 inches tall, 4 inches wide. These are the medium oval from the Oval Chalkboard Labels set (page 18 in the Summer mini). I couldn't find chalk in my local stores so I ordered some Chalk markers (who knew there was such a thing??) online and they are perfect! I tested one while writing these and it wipes right off with just a little water.

Back soon with retirement lists!!
