Thursday!! Sorry this is late, Blogger is giving me fits! Hopefully this is working, though it may not be perfect!

Ready for another challenge at the ColorLab!??! It's a great one this week-ties in perfectly with the Fourth of July holiday this weekend!! Here are the colors

Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler &
 Not Quite Navy

and here is the card I created! Not quite where I was going when I started, but I like it! Very masculine!!

Card base is Night of Navy with a Cherry Cobbler layer behind the Naturals White background. On the background I stamped images from both Extreme Elements and Grunge Rock in all three colors. Some images are full strength, some are stamped off once. The edge was sponged with Not Quite Navy and then I textured it with the Square Lattice folder in the Big Shot. Across the center is a Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon. The Happy Birthday was inked with the markers and "split", Happy at the top, Birthday at the bottom of a Decorative Label punch. A few light accents were added, and then an Antique Brad in the center. I layered two more Decorative Labels in Night of Navy behind and attached over the ribbon with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today! Do stop over at the ColorLab and play along!

Sweet Postage Royalty

Another card for a challenge! I have new packs of DSP and this sketch fits right in with it! I had been contemplating getting the DSP Patterns Packs in each of the color families because I have the In Color one and love it! When I realized the price is going up in the new catalog, I ordered them all! Paper heaven :)

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge by Stampin' Royalty. Here is my card

based on this sketch

My card base is Rich Razzleberry. The background print is from the Brights Patterns DSP. Along the top and bottom edge I layered a Scallop Trim Border. Small pearls accent the scallops. The image is from Pretty Postage and was stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched with the Postage Stamp punch. It is layered onto the Extra Large Tag Punch. I added a Scallop Trim Border to the bottom here as well along with a couple of pearls. A Vanilla Taffeta ribbon also accents the bottom. At the top is a clip from the Clips Assortment with a Vanilla Taffeta ribbon knotted around. The tag elements is attached with dimensionals.

It's Your Day!

A card made just to play! Finally!!! I spent some serious time in my room yesterday, putting things away and sorting. With the upcoming change of catalog, I always go through and pull retiring sets and accessories. All done and ready to work!!

I combined two challenges for this card, the Clean & Simple sketch FTL146 and the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge Starts & Stripes.

The card base is Night of Navy. Across the top and bottom I stamped the stars from Extreme Elements in Night of Navy. Across the center is a striped print of Cherry Cobbler DSP. Behind the top and bottom edge is a Cherry Cobbler Scallop Ribbon Border. The stars were cut with the Stars #2 Original Die in the Big Shot. I layered together Cherry Cobbler & Night of Navy stars. In the center of each are silver brads. "it's your day!" comes from a new hostess set, Happiest Birthday Wishes. The stars are attached with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by! Heading back upstairs as soon as this thunder storm we're currently having blows over. Nothing major, just home wind, heavy rain & small hail. Just another day in Nebraska!!

Faith in Nature

Here is a sneak peek card made with a new Hostess set, Faith in Nature. I really liked the look of it so chose to buy it to play with early! This card was my swap creation for my regular monthly group.

Another sneak peek-we have Chocolate Chip ribbon! and more variety too :) Love that!! I've felt very limited this last year with only certain colors. No more!! And check out that cool scallop dotted ribbon. Fun!!!

Card base is Chocolate Chip that I "dotted" with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder in the Big Shot. The Pear image, which has the script as part of the image by the way, was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Naturals White card stock. To color it, I created a reverse mask, two actually. By that I mean I stamped the pear image on scrap paper and cut out inside the pear. I lined that over the stamped image and used a sponge dauber to apply More Mustard classic ink inside the pear. More around the edge, leaving the coloring spotty and very light if any in the middle. I repeated the technique with the leave and applied the new color Lucky Limeade. . I knotted the Chocolate Chip ribbon around under the pear and stamped "Thank You" (also from this set) in Chocolate Chip near the bottom. The Naturals White is layered onto Lucky Limeade and More Mustard then attached to the dotted base.

Pretty quick and easy-it had to be as I ran myself late (imagine that!!) to get 20 made and in the mail on time.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope to be back more often in the upcoming weeks, but no guarantees as I get ready for Open Houses!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 062411

Friday!! Always ready for the weekend! Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge and mini tour!! Here is my card

based on this sketch by Kim Innis

I went with Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight as I love those two colors together. And of course, the Sunny Garden DSP. Going to miss it!! My card base is Poppy Parade with a background layer of the Daffodil Delight dot print. Thank You from Thank You Kindly was stamped in Poppy Parade in the bottom left corner. The  two corner accent pieces are Poppy Parade Card Stock with a DSP dot printed layered. The DSP is white with Daffodil dots. On that I stamped the flowered flower from Printed Petals. Those flowers could have been a little more towards the outside corner, but oh well!! The top panel has an accent of Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon. In the center is a 2-3/8" Daffodil Scallop Circle with White Gel Pen accents. Centered in that is the more solid flower from Printed Petals that was stamped in Poppy Parade and punched with the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle. In the center is a Daffodil Delight button with white embroidery thread knotted in the center. Dimensionals attach the scallop element to the background.

Thursday, again?? Man, the weeks are zipping by!!! I really need to get back to stamping more and I hope to this weekend! I tackled a major outside project last week, but it's done. It's time to focus on the NEW catty and getting my room in order! Ha, yeah right. A girl can dream though right??

Anyway, Thursday means another ColorLab color Challenge. Check out this Color Combo!!??!! Would you naturally put them together?? I admit to not using ANY of these very often! But, at first glance I knew what set went with them, and I love the end result!!

Sahara Sand, Bravo Burgundy & Pink Pirouette

The card base is Bravo Burgundy with both a Pink Pirouette & Sahara Sand layer behind the Very Vanilla stamped background. On the Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand I used my Cutter Kit edging tool to rough the edges. On the Very Vanilla I stamped large flowers in Bravo Burgundy, small flowers in Pink Pirouette and the vine image in Sahara Sand. Then I spritzed on some Pink Pirouette & Sahara Sand and sponged the edge with Sahara Sand. The Friends image was also stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Very Vanilla and spritzed with Pink Pirouette & Sahara Sand. I roughed the edge of this also, as well as the Pink Pirouette layer behind. Those two are mounted on Bravo Burgundy. For accent I attached a small Pink Pirouette flower with an Antique Brad in the center.

Make sure you stop over by the ColorLab and see what the other girls came up with! I always look forward to that on Thursday morning!! Then, play along with us!! We LOVE to see your creations!!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 061711

Happy Friday all! I'm ready for the weekend, even though it will mean lots of work!! Have an outside project I need to get done, and my house needs cleaned!! Such is life :)

Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch and mini hop. Here is my card for this week

based on this sketch by me!

My card base is Early Espresso with a background of Rich Razzleberry that I stamped with the En Francais stamp with Rich Razzleberry. The main image is the flower from Every Moment that was stamped in Early Espresso and colored with Watercolor Crayons in Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Early Espresso. That has a piece of 1-1/4" Rich Razzleberry striped grosgrain attached on the right side. Behind on the left is an Old Olive layer, offset and with Early Espresso brads at the top side. Friend to friend from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped under the flower in Early Espresso.

Quick and easy for me this week! Not really in stamping mode-hope to get back more into it after this weekend. We shall see!! ColorLab45

Thursday!! My head is spinning with all that I would like to accomplish today, but before I get too worked up about that, let's have some fun at the ColorLab!! It's challenge day again! I cranked out a very quick card for this. It's been a crazy week and it's far from over!!

Here are the colors of the week

Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight &
Tempting Turquoise

And, here is what I came up with!

The card base is Tempting Turquoise with a Melon Mambo layer behind the Whisper White background. On that background, I stamped the large scallop flower from Flower Fest in all three colors. Randomly and overlapping the flowers. Love this set!! I knotted a Daffodil Delight 3/8" Taffeta ribbon around before layering the background onto the Melon Mambo. The saying was stamped in Turquoise on another piece of Whisper White and punched with the 2-1/2" Circle punch. I then added a Daffodil Delight flower over the saying. Behind the circle is two punches of Melon Mambo using the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch. I cut each in half and layered behind like we do with the Decorative Label punch. It's not perfect, but it works for me!! Nothing else was working for a layer behind the saying, so I made something up!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Do stop over at the ColorLab and play along. We love to see your creations!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 061011

Friday! That means another Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge and mini tour!! I struggled with this one, not sure why. Think I'm just having an off week!! Finally got something that I can live with!! Here is my card

based on this sketch brought to us by Deb Currier

This card is a sneak peek of two of the new In Colors. Pool Party and Island Indigo. The card base is Pool Party. I chose the set Simple Friendship. The outline flower is stamped randomly on the base with Whisper White Craft Ink. I cut a scallop circle from Island Indigo and layered on a 3" Circle of Whisper White. On the circle I stamped "true friend" at the bottom in Island Indigo. The butterfly was stamped on another piece of Whisper White in Island Indigo and cut out. I curled the wings slightly over my paper piercer and attached with dimensionals under the body. I punched a Scallop Ribbon of Pool Party and attached across the circle element.

ColorLab44

Thursday! Wow, what a week! I was actually thinking last week (and I should know better!!) that summer was going well and not too crazy. Then Monday happened. Late night of baseball and I'm still trying to get back on track!!

The good news is it's ColorLab day!! Grab your lab coat and play along!  Make sure to stop over by the ColorLab and see what the other girls came up with!! That is my first stop most Thursday mornings!!

Here are the colors, selected by yours truly this week!!

I was definitely thinking Spring when Julie asked for colors!! I think we've skipped right over Spring here in Nebraska. We went from cool and cloudy to hot and humid. Oh well! The flowers and things have been beautiful!! Here is my card:

Not the most creative card I've ever done, and probably not the most original (it looks quite a bit like the last card I posted), but I like it. Clean and Simple!! Card base is Concord Crush with background layers of Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight behind Whisper White. On the Whisper White, I stamped the Inspired by Nature flower image. I colored the stamp by using daubers. I was hoping for a softer look, but didn't really get it-guess I had a heavy hand :) It really almost looks like I used markers. Across the bottom I knotted a Concord Crush ribbon. Then I added the "HI THERE" from Fundamental Phrases with a flower accent (reinked the small flower and stamped it off once) on the Large Oval layered onto the Concord Crush Scallop Oval.

That's it!! Thanks for stopping by today. I'm off to bed, not early by any means (baseball again tonight), but I hope to sleep in tomorrow and catch up.

Fabulous Florets SR74

Squeezed in a little stamping time this morning after my plans changed! Sneaking this one in just before the deadline for the Stampin' Royalty challenge of the week. Here is my card

based on this color challenge:

Love these colors together!! My card base is Wild Wasabi with a Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight layer behind the Whisper White background. On the background I stamped the stem image 3 times, and the saying across the bottom. I knotted a Daffodil Delight 3/8" Taffeta ribbon across just above the saying. The flowers were stamped twice on scraps of Whisper White, once is Melon Mambo, once in Daffodil Delight. I cut the centers out of Daffodil and attached to the Melon Mambo flowers before attaching with a dimensional.

Retiring Items

Sorry I haven't shared anything for a few days! Spent some time outside this weekend, working on my landscape. When it got to hot, I came in and rested or read a book. Hope to get into stamping mode here shortly today.

I wanted to pop in with a quick reminder of retirement lists. I noticed after I did the last post that the color update kits are all on the list. So, if you haven't updated your Stampin' Pastels, Watercolor Crayons, or Stampin' Write Markers-do it now!! Of course you'll always be able to buy the new set of each, but these kits update your old set with only the new colors. Markers are always available individually, but the Pastels and Crayons are only available in sets. The Pastels, one big set. The Crayons, by Color Family.

The link to the pdf file that shows them all is HERE. And I should also note that on retiring list, the Pastels Kit and the Watercolor Crayons kit are listed at 25% off!!!

Here are the links again to the retirement lists.

**Note the Availability column. If it has an asterisk (*) the item is SOLD OUT.
This list should also update daily if you need to check something later.

Contact me if you have any questions. I am putting in an order this afternoon, so let me know if there is anything you need. Probably around 3:00. Have to be on the road to baseball by 4:30. Thanks all!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 060311

Friday!! Time for another Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge and mini tour! Are you ready????

Here is my creation of the week

based on this sketch brought to us this week by Angela Walters.

My card base is Rich Razzleberry. Background layer is Whisper white on which I stamped the scallop flower from Flower Fest in Rich Razzleberry after stamping off once first. I wanted it a shade lighter than the saying. I sponged just a little Rich Razzleberry ink in the center of some flowers. I knotted a Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon around, and added Rich Razzleberry buttons from the Brights Designer buttons set. They have a knot in the center of white embroidery thread. The saying is from All Holidays and was stamped full strength in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White and layered onto Rich Razzleberry.

That's it-pretty quick and simple!! Thanks for stopping by. Continue on our mini tour by clicking HERE to see what Kim came up with this week. Remember, all member blogs and the main blog are linked in all of our sidebars in case you get derailed along the tour!!

Every Moment

I've been wanting all week to play along with this sketch challenge, but just finally made time tonight. Connie & Mary's special Summer Mini edition is currently in full swing and each week they have a challenge. This week, a fun sketch! Here is my card

based on this sketch

My card base is Early Espresso. Blushing Bride DSP was used for the background strip and elements. The flower is from Every Moment and was stamped on Naturals Ivory Card Stock with Early Espresso ink. I colored the flower with my Blushing Bride marker (carefully so as not to make the Espresso bleed!!). The center of the flower and stem were colored with a blender pen and Early Espresso ink for a lighter effect. The dots on the flower were added with the fine point of the marker. A strip of Blushing Bride card stock that was punched with the Scallop trim border bunch is across the bottom, and an Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon is knotted around. The edges of the Natural layer were sponged with Blushing Bride. I didn't add a saying, but I'm sure there is room for something from Teeny Tiny Wishes beside the flower stem.

ColorLab43

Man, where do the weeks go?? Time seems to zipping by me! The good news though is, Thursday means it's time for another ColorLab Challenge! Do stop over and play along with us this week! The colors of the week:

Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red,
& Early Espresso

I decided to go masculine. And I resisted the "urge" to grab Sail Away again. Instead, I grabbed the Countryside set and my Watercolor Crayons. The card base is Early Espresso with a background of Riding Hood Red. On that background I stamped the apple image randomly. Then I spritzed it with Early Espresso ink before texturing with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. The truck was stamped on Naturals White with Early Espresso ink. I added color from my watercolor crayons with a blender pen. Because I used my classic Early Espresso instead of Basic Black or Black Stazon, I need to be fairly careful when coloring or the Espresso will bleed. And, actually, I discovered when it did bleed, it just contributed to the antique look of the truck. Otherwise known as a happy accident :) The truck is Not Quite Navy, apples and sign are Riding Hood Red, baskets and grass are Early Espresso. I added a little spritz here too with Early Espresso before attaching to a Not Quite Navy later, adding an Early Espresso 1-1/4" Grosgrain ribbon to the side, and attaching to the background.
