Happy Friday all!! Wow, June already!! Time sure flies, doesn't it??

As you know, Friday means another sketch challenge and mini tour from Sketch Frenzy Friday!!  Here is my card

based on this sketch by Sharon Wheet.

Not much stamping on this one!! Only the saying, from Curly Cute. But, I made good use of the new DSP pack, Floral District. The card base is Rich Razzleberry, with an accent layer of Daffodil Delight behind the print background. On the right edge is a reversed strip of the background, and around that a new 1/4" Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain. The flowers were cut from different prints of the DSP pack using the Fun Flowers Die in the Big Shot. I curled them some with my paper piercer before attaching. In the center of the flower and the ribbon are Razzleberry brads from the Glimmer Brights.

Happy Friday all! Ready for a great weekend?? Start it off by making the rounds at Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Make sure to stop over and play along!!

Here is my card

based on this sketch by Robbie Rubala

The card base is one of the new In Colors, Gumball Green. The accent layer behind the Whisper White background is Melon Mambo. Colors by the Color Coach. The last in the mix is So Saffron. I stamped the "thinking of you" in Gumball Green at the bottom of the Whisper White, then randomly stamped flowers and leaves above that. I stamped a large flower in Melon Mambo on a separate piece of Whisper White and cut it out. After attaching a So Saffron button with White Bakers twine in the center, and sponging the edge with So Saffron, I attached it to the card base with dimensionals. Across the top is the new In Color ribbon-3/8" Stitched Stain-in Gumball green.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 051812

Happy Friday all! The start of summer here as the boys are officially out of school. Looking forward to our first summer without baseball in 12 years!! What will we do?? Trust me, we'll stay plenty busy!!

As you know, Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge and mini tour. Here is my card

based on this sketch by Patrice Herrera.

I decided tonight it was time to break in to the new stamps and goodies! I grabbed a new set, Betsy's Blossoms, and two new In Colors, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit. The card base is Basic Gray with an accent layer of Raspberry Ripple behind the Whisper White background. On that background, I stamped the large flower in Summer Starfruit, and the small flower trio in Raspberry Ripple. The birds were stamped in Raspberry Ripple on Whisper White and cut out. I attached them with dimensionals to a Basic Gray on Raspberry Ripple rectangle. The saying is from Friendly Phrases and was stamped in Basic Gray over the background flower. Lastly, I added small rhinestones to the eyes.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 051112

Happy Friday all! Man, don't these weeks fly by?? They sure are here!! Hopefully with school out next week, things will slow down at least a little!!

As you know Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge and mini tour. Here is my card

based on this sketch by Maria Vanderform.

I had this set and colors out for something else I was working on, and decided they were perfect for this sketch. I'm wondering right now too, why don't I use this combo more often??

The card base is Island Indigo, the background is Pool Party DSP. I stamped the butterfly from Creative Elements 3 times in Island Indigo on Whisper White and cut them out. I split the DSP and put the stripe print at the bottom, and the other at the top. Across the center is an Island Indigo ribbon. The butterflies were attached with a dimensional (just a half in the center), and curled their wings over the paper piercer for dimension. I added a pearl to each body, and three at the top right per the sketch. The saying is also from Creative Elements.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 050412

Happy Friday all! Ready for some weekend time??? First, make sure you stop over at Sketch Frenzy Friday and play along with the challenge of the week!! Make the rounds of the tour for inspiration!! Here is my card

based on this sketch by Kim Innis

Card base is Riding Hood Red, with a background of Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze. The DSP is from the Twitterpated pack. I used some Twitterpated fabric and made the flower element using the Fun Flowers die. I cut two of each size flower, from the 3 different prints in the fabric set. I "roughed them up" a bit and attached them together with a Pear Pizzazz Glimmer Brad. Across the center is scrunched Pear Pizzazz Seam binding. The saying is from Friendly Phases. Not much stamping tonight! My brain was too tired for much :) Note: Many items are still available from the Occasions Mini, including the Twitterpated fabric and DSP. Contact me if you need details!

Daffodil Concord Treat

Card three from Club last weekend! Using a stamp I should have had long before now but didn't-the Triple Treat Flower. Sadly, it is retiring.

The card base is Daffodil Delight with a Concord Crush accent layer behind a background print of Concord Crush DSP. Miss Concord Crush already!!! We stamped the flower 3 times: twice in Daffodil, once in Concord. Both on Whisper White. The first Daffodil, we punched with the Fancy Flower punch. The second Daffodil, we punched just the 1/2" circle for the center. The Concord one was punched with the 5-Petal Flower punch. We layered all the pieces together, adding a solid Concord Crush Fancy Flower punch at the back. Through the center we added a Saffron Glitter brad. Not the exact color of Daffodil, but it blends very well. A Concord one would have worked as well, but mine are all gone. To gather the Wide Grosgrain ribbon in the center, we tied a piece of Bakers Twine in the center. Knot it, and pull it completely tight. Then attach the ribbon to the center of the back of the Concord layer and add the flower over the ribbon with dimensionals. I opted not to add a saying. There just didn't seem to be the right place to do one.

Butterfly Thanks

Card two from the weekend-using the Oval this time from the Designer Frames folder set.

The card base is Riding Hood Red with a Baja Breeze accent layer behind the background layer of First Edition newsprint. The oval was embossed on Riding Hood Red card stock. We then cut it out with scissors around the dotted outside edge. The oval in the center was punched with the Extra-Large Oval punch. On Naturals Ivory card stock, we stamped the butterflies from Kindness matters. We had inked them with markers-Riding Hood Red on the center one, Baja Breeze on the two outside ones. They don't quite all fit in the oval, but that's OK! Before punching, we also Spritzed over some So Saffron ink just for accent. We attached the butterfly oval to the embossed oval with Snail adhesive, then attached the whole element with dimensionals over Riding Hood Red pleated satin ribbon. On the ribbon, we "unpleated" (for lack of a more technical term?!?) the ends just a little and cut a pennant corner into them. We added pearls to the butterfly body, and to the ribbon. Lastly, the saying is done on a small piece of Baja Breeze that we stamped "Thanks" on in Riding Hood Red and manually cut pennant corners in as well. Two small pearls are the final accents.
