Open House Butterfly

Card three from Open Houses last weekend. A nice, yet very simple one! Inspired by Mary Fish here. Thank you again to all the Demos out there who so freely share their creations!!!

Here is my version.

Love Rich Razzleberry!! Card base Rich Razzleberry. Designer Paper on the sample is from the Polka Dot Parade pack. My stampers used the FREE SAB paper in two prints, the chevron and the dots. The top layer is Whisper White. We started by punching the Butterfly (Elegant Butterfly Punch) at an angle. Once punched, we pierced around it with the coordinating template from the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack. Next we stamped a saying from the Sassy Salutations. Thank You, Feel Better and Thinking of You all worked well! We attached the Whisper White over the Designer Series Paper. Finally, we punched a Bitty Butterfly from Whisper White and attached it in the center of the larger punched butterfly with a small piece of dimensional. A few rhinestones in the center give it some bling!

Open House Oh, Hello!

Happy weekend all! No snow flying here yet-yeah!! Here is the second card from Open House last weekend.

Not a color combo that I naturally go to, but I really like how it came out!! As I mentioned in my last Open House post, none of these cards were original creations. This one I found on LeeAnn Greff's blog HERE. Turns out she cased it too from Yvette HERE. Love all the sharing that goes on among fellow SU! Demonstrators!! I completely changed up the colors because I wanted to use the Tangerine Tango ribbon that was free during Sale-A-Bration. I was already using the Indigo on the previous card.

The card base is Tangerine Tango with a Chocolate Chip accent layer behind a background of Very Vanilla. I textured the upper part of the background with the new Honeycomb folder. I left the bottom untextured so we could stamp the saying there. Both the "Oh Hello" and "Thanks So Much" from the Oh, Hello set work wonderfully on this card.We sponged the edge of the Very Vanilla background with Chocolate Chip ink and also over the texture just a little to accent it. Above the saying we attached a strip of Chocolate Chip with Old Olive stripe Designer Series Paper. Around that we had knotted the Tangerine Tango ribbon. Next we stamped the Just Thinking stamp (page 21 Spring Mini) in Chocolate Chip on a square of Chocolate Chip. We cut it out using the coordinating Window Frame Framelit. Onto that we attached a Tangerine Tango 2-3/8" Scallop Circle. The Very Vanilla circle was cut with the Circles #2 Die in the Big Shot. I think it was the next to largest circle on there, it fits the scallop a little better than the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. Onto the circle we stamped the flowers which were inked with markers, Tangerine Tango for the flower, Old Olive for the stem. There are dimensionals between the Tangerine Scallop and the Chocolate Chip Window, and behind the Chocolate Chip Window.

Thanks for stopping by today! Sale-A-Bration ended yesterday, but there is still plenty of time to get these GREAT products from the Spring Mini!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 032213

Happy Friday all! Not such a nice start to Spring here-lots of cold/snow in the forecast for the next few days! Oh well, we need the moisture, but my preference would be rain!!

OK, on to the reason you're here! Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation of the week

based on this sketch by Maria Vanderform.

My card base is Gumball Green with an accent layer of Midnight Muse behind the background print. The Designer Series Paper is from the Print Poetry Stack in the Spring Mini. On the right side is another print from the pack in a stripe format. It is layered on Summer Starfruit. Around that I knotted some Gumball Green ribbon and attached the "Happiness" saying from the Loving Thoughts set. My center element is two flowers from the Secret Garden set layered over a Scallop Punch of Gumball green. Final accent, a Large Rhinestone in the center of the flower.

Thanks all for stopping by today!! Make sure to stop over at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see the creations of the rest of the team, and to play along!!

Open House Bloomin' Marvelous

Howdy all! Finally-a card from Open Houses last weekend! Great to see those of you who were here!!

A reminder to all that Sale-A-Bration is ending Friday. Wow, that went fast didn't it?? I don't feel like I got near enough time to play with these goodies!! But there is still time to order if you haven't yet taken advantage, or if you found you need more :)

You have until 11:50 pm MT Friday, March 22 to place your order online. If you prefer to have me place it, I need to hear from you by 6 pm Friday. Thanks!!

OK, on to the card which happens to use one of the GREAT FREE sets from SAB! I must first say that I was a little lacking in time and therefore creativity, so all the cards are based on an idea that someone else shared! This one was CASED from Dawn Olchefske HERE. Loved the colors, and it got me to try the Lace Tape!! Here is my version

The card base is Pool Party with an accent of Rich Razzleberry behind the Whisper White background. The stamp set used is Bloomin' Marvelous, one of the FREE choices during Sale-A-Bration. We stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry, some off once. Leaves in Pool Party. The butterflies were stamped with Island Indigo on a separate piece of Whisper White and punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch. The Lace Tape is in the Spring Mini. Delicate Details Lace Tape to be exact! It comes in two patterns. Quite fun, and easy to work with! We attached it to a strip of Rich Razzleberry and knotted a piece of Island Indigo ribbon (also a FREE SAB item from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack) around. The strip was placed just above the lower flowers. We added a saying above that, then butterflies. The butterflies were attached with a small piece of Stampin' Dimensional and we added small Rhinestones for bling!

Catalog Items used: 129651 Bloomin’ Marvelous Set (FREE SAB) * 122924 Pool Party Card Stock * 126950 Rich Razzleberry Card Stock * 100730 Whisper White Card Stock * 126892 Pool Party Classic Ink * 126950 Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink * 126986 Island Indigo Classic Ink * 119246 Rhinestone Basic Jewels * 104430 Stampin’ Dimensionals * 130966 Delicate Details Lace Tape “Lace” * 129406 Bitty Butterfly Punch

Sketch Frenzy Friday 031513

Happy Friday all! Supposed to be a nice Spring Day here-yeah!! Still some mud to deal with after snow last weekend, but sunshine is AWESOME!!!

Friday means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation of the week

based on this sketch, also by me!

If either look familiar, it's because I based the sketch on a card I did at Club last month. You can see it here. We've done other similar ones in the past too with the Blossom Punch.

My card base is Melon Mambo. A DSP layer of Daffodil Delight Polka Dot parade sits behind the Whisper White background. On the right side, center, I cut the largest flower with the Secret Garden framelit through just the Whisper White. I then stamped the saying in the lower left corner before stamping flowers all around in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise. I stamped two more flowers on a separate piece of Whisper White and cut with their coordinating framelit. The Melon Mambo one was attached in the center of the cut out flower, the Turquoise one off to the side. In the center of each is a Rhinestone. The ribbon is Melon Mambo Scallop Dots.

That's it for me today! Back to getting ready for Open Houses this weekend! Make sure you stop over at the main SFF Blog to see what the rest of the team created, and to play along!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 030813

Happy Friday all!!! Hope you have a GREAT weekend on the agenda! National Robotics tournament on our agenda-very much looking forward to it!! Good Luck Crete Robotics!!!

OK, on to the reason you are here!! Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation of the week

based on this sketch by Deb Currier.

As usual I was rushed to do this, so I tried to keep it simple!! I flipped through a couple of new packs of DSP looking for something bright and cheery. Think I found it!! This is from the FREE SAB pack of Designer Series Paper, Sycamore Street. The card base is Island Indigo with a Rich Razzleberry accent layer behind the DSP print. I cut the tag shape from the Apothecary Accents Framelit set from Whisper White and stamped the 'Happy Birthday' from Sassy Salutations in Rich Razzleberry. For the 'banner' elements in the sketch I chose the FREE SAB ribbon from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack. I accented the tag with Rich Razzleberry buttons also from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack. In the middle of each I knotted some Pool Party Baker's Twine.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!! Make sure you stop over at the main SFF Blog to see the creations of the rest of the team, and to play along!! Happy Weekend All!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 030113

Happy Friday all! Hope your week was a good one! Can't believe how fast they go sometimes!!

As you know, Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Tammy Fite.

I decided it was time to use some punches I hadn't tried yet! First, the butterflies! Papillion Potpourri has been around, but not the punch for the smaller butterflies. I decided to layer both together! First, the card base is Elegant Eggplant with a Melon Mambo accent layer behind the Very Vanilla background. I textured the Vanilla with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder. Four 1-1/4" Scallop Circles were punched from River Rock. I stamped two large butterflies in Eggplant, and one In Melon. The reverse in the small. I scored them down the center and curled the wings slightly over my Paper Piercing Tool. They are attached in the center with Snail Adhesive, then with a small piece of dimensional to the scallop circle. The 'hello' is from a fun FREE Sale-A-Bration set, Pretty Petites, and coordinates with the new FREE Petite Curly Label punch.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you stop over at the main SFF blog to see what the rest of the team has created, and to play along!! We love to see what you come up with!
