Inspired Butterfly Basic

Hey all! Happy weekend! No football for us so we're hanging around home. I made it to the stamp room last night and hope to spend more time there the next few days. My other abilities are limited since I have 3 stitches in my left hand - kitchen incident this week - nothing major! But that takes out yard work and too much cleaning. Oh darn! :)

Anyway, back to the stamping! There is a new challenge that I came across this week and I really like the colors! Here is my card

Based on this color challenge from Inspire. Create. Challenges. Basic Gray, Calypso Coral & Whisper White.

I resisted the urge to pick up Painted Harvest and instead went to the stamp cupboard. I looked through a few and decided on Butterfly Basics. I knew I could do a background with the elements, and that the butterfly worked with the Butterflies Thinlets.

The background is Whisper White that I stamped the elements in Basic Gray and Calypso Coral, some full strength, some off once. I sponged the edge lightly with Basic Gray and then ran the entire background through the Big Shot in the Sparkle embossing folder. Next, I attached the background to an accent layer of Calypso Coral and knotted a double ribbon, 3/8" Basic Gray Stitched Satin and 1/8" Calypso Coral Sheer around both before attaching to the Basic Gray card base. For the saying element I used my new to me Layering Ovals Framelits to cut the Happy Birthday from Whisper White and an accent scallop oval of Calypso Coral. The butterfly was stamped in Calypso Coral and cut with the Butterflies Thinlet. Both are attached with dimensionals.
