Updates!!

As promised, updates! Lots of info, read all the way through!!

http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=30579

First, with the end of the year will be the end of the Holiday Catalog. Actually, it goes through January 2 so there is a little time. Some items are retiring, some will be carried over, some are on sale! My suggestion is to CLICK INTO my store here, then on the Year-End tab on the left side. You'll then see a link for retiring, and discounted. If something isn't on either list, it should be carrying over. For instance, all the Stampin' Blends that were introduced in the catty will still be available. Any questions on that, ask me!

Next, Stampin' Up! announced at OnStage in November that going forward Wood-Mount stamps will no longer be available. And, that the current "Clear-Mount" will be upgraded to Cling stamps. So choices moving forward will be Photopolymer and Cling. The current Annual Catalog still has wood through May. After that those that carry over will transition to Cling. Cling starts with the NEW Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catties that are headed your way NOW!! Here is a fun video from the home office!

More details soon on this as you'll want to be very careful how you adhere your label so you don't damage them. These are the same GREAT Red Rubber you love from Stampin' Up! but new and improved Cling!!

Third, if you've been around Stampin' Up! for long you know that January brings a NEW Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration!  Catties should be arriving in your mail box. I got my SAB one before Christmas, and the Occasions just this week. Here is what the Sale-A-Bration catalog looks like:

As in the past, earn FREE items from this catty with a $50 or $100 purchase! Earn EXTRA Rewards as a Hostess ($25 more with a $250 party!!), and get SUPER deals ($175 of product for $99) when you sign up as a Demonstrator! Sales period starts January 3, I will post a link to the catty that day! Ask me if you need any more details on this!

Extra special deal this year if you join. An exclusive Craft & Carry Tote is an available option for your Starter Kit. This bag is only available to new Recruits. $175 of product Plus the Tote for just $129!!

And, here is the Occasions Cover:

Great new Cling Stamps, coordinating Dies, Punches, Designer Series Paper, etc! Again I'll post a link on the 3rd!

That is it for now! I'll be back on January 3 (if not before!) with links to the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. If you need paper copies let me know, I'll be ordering those on the 3rd as well. Contact me if any questions!! Happy New Year!!

Beautiful Day!

Hey, all! Long time, no see! Hope your Christmas was Very Merry!! and, Best Wishes for the New Year! We had a good one, both boys here for a few days and good times all around.

Watch for an update on all things SU! a little later tonight or early tomorrow. Year end is here and NEW things are on the horizon!!

I made it up to the stamp room last night and whipped out a few cards! A while back I had colored a few flowers from Beautiful Day with my Stampin' Blends. Tonight I made those into cards. I'm going to share all 3 here. Very similar really, but see what a difference a background or ribbon choice can make!

First up, Flirty Flamingo.

This picture looks a little busy, it really isn't that bad in real life. Jury is still out on that ribbon though! I like it, just not 100% sure it works here! The flower was colored with both the light and dark Flirty Flamingo. Leaf is Granny Apple Green, center Daffodil Delight. The flower was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Thick White Cardstock. After coloring, I went over the entire flower with my Wink of Stella (clear) glitter brush. The card base is Flirty Flamingo cardstock, accent layer of Basic Black and a background of small dotted Flirty Flamingo Designer Series Paper from the 6x6 Brights pack. The flower was cut out and attached with dimensionals. Thank You at the bottom is from Thankful Thoughts.

Next up, Mango Melody!

Same flower technique. Same DSP 6x6 stack. Flower was colored with Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Soft Suede for the center. Finished once again with Wink of Stella. Card base is Basic Black, accent layer of Mango Melody, background of Mango Melody white stripe from the Brights 6x6 stack. Ribbon is the Basic Black 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon. Thanks again from Thankful Thoughts.

And, lastly, Bermuda Bay.

Flower again on Thick Whisper White using Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green. Finished with Wink of Stella. Maybe just a touch to heavy on this one! Card base is Bermuda Bay, accent layer of Basic Black and background DSP in Bermuda Bay, white stripe. Same ribbon above and another saying from Thankful Thoughts. This one using the Classic Label punch.

Let me know if any questions!! Thanks for stopping by. Hoping to be back soon and much more often!! Happy New Year!! Product details and shopping link below!!

Thinking of You Sheltering Tree

Good Morning all! I was inspired by another color challenge this am and came up with two cards. Very similar, and I'll explain why I did two below! My Maple trees in my front yard look very similar to this right now!

Here is the color challenge from Color Throwdown that was my inspiration, their current challenge CTD514.

I started by flipping through my catalog to find a set other than Painted Harvest to use, although it would have worked very well! Sheltering Tree was my choice. The challenge Orange, Brown, Rust and Yellow becomes Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry in Stampin' Up! colors.

On both the tree is stamped in Espresso on Very Vanilla. On the top, I started with Crushed Curry and stamped the leaves over the tree. I then added Pumpkin Pie by turning the stamp slightly to the left, and Cajun Craze slight to the right. As I was doing that I wondered if the order of the colors made any difference in how the finished tree would look, so I did a second one and reversed the stamping order. There is a difference, but I think it is as much about the image placement and accents chosen then which color was first.

The top card has an accent layer of Crushed Curry and a Copper Trim bow. The bottom has Pumpkin Pie ribbon and accent layer' Blend. The Pumpkin Pie ribbon is the Whisper White Classic Weave that I colored with my Pumpkin Pie Dark Stampin Both card bases are Early Espresso. Thinking of You was stamped in Espresso at the bottom. Two very quick cards with unlimited color possibilities!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm off to household chores and office work after taking most of the day off yesterday to rest. The snow outside is melting-yeah! Hopefully we can get back to Fall!
