Open House Bold Blossom

Card 3-featuring my favorite set from the Occasions Mini-Bold Blossom. And, the good news? It's in the next mini too-WOOHOO!! Wait until you see the cool new tool that coordinates with it :)

This is a favorite color combo too but those of you who come by regularly probably know that!! Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait. The card base is Concord Crush and was textured in the Framed Tulips folder. We used that folder twice on Open House projects-it's just too cool not to!! Inset in the frame is a Pear Pizzazz layer under the stamped Whisper White layer. On that layer, we started at the top and stamped our way down. Butterflies in Peach Parfait, Flowers in Concord Crush, and stems in Pear Pizzazz. Running stems off the bottom is much better than butterflies off the top! Next, we embossed the entire stamped image by covering it with Versamark and adding Iridescent Ice Embossing powder. Heat, and Wow-sparkly!!

Let me back up there just a little bit. Lesson learned over the weekend is that Sticky Strip pulls off heat embossing. When I made my cards, I embossed it all, then added sticky strip and scrunched the ribbon on the sides. But, if you have trouble and need to back up your ribbon, pulling up on it-which usually works just fine, can pull off the sticky strip. So, I started having them add the Sticky Strip right after stamping. Then add Versamark all above it and add the embossing powder. Heat didn't seem to bother the Sticky Strip at all.

After you've embossed the entire thing, pull off the red top of the Sticky Strip and add your ribbon. I cut the ribbon twice as wide as the layer and most of my stampers had more than enough. We gathered it with a Stylus for a guide as I've mentioned here several times. But this time, we only did a few gathers on each side as the center is under the words. The next thing we did was add the saying element. Stamp the saying on a piece of Whisper White and punch with the Designer Label Punch. Add a Peach Parfait 1-3/8" Circle behind and attach with dimensionals over the ribbon. I find a small piece of dimensional near the top and bottom works just great! Lastly, add a medium Rhinestone to the center of each flower using the Paper-Piercing Tool. Never too much bling!!
