Royal Blog Tour-For All You Do!

This post was a stop on the Royal Blog Tour April 30-May 3 2010.

I am featuring projects made with the For All You do set, shown here in the catalog (p. 118):

And, following is what I did with it! This is a very versatile set with lots of options from the different elements. I tried to use the different elements so you can see the versatility! Make sure you make it all the way to the bottom for Blog Candy!! Click any of the pictures for a larger image so you can see all the details!!

First up is this bright Mothers Day card using Melon Mambo & Crushed Curry and featuring the flowers from the set. The card base is Melon Mambo textured cardstock. On the Whisper White Top Note, I stamped the large flowers first using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get perfect placement. Then I added stems in Old Olive and the smaller flowers. Then, I stamped all the flowers again on another piece of cardstock so I could cut them out and layer over the original ones for dimension. I used a sponge dauber to add ink to the edges of the cut flowers for extra dimension. I sponged all the white edged, added Vintage Black brads to the flowers, tied a Melon Mambo ribbon around and added they saying from Well Scripted on Scallop Ovals.

Second we have this Elegant Eggplant creation featuring the flower block image. I embossed the blocks by stamping on Whisper White with Elegant Eggplant craft ink and embossing with Clear embossing powder. I cut the squares out and layered onto a strip of Basic Black. I tied a Black Gingham ribbon around the strip at the bottom and added Black Vintage Brads at the edge & between the squares. The background is textured with the Finial Press embossing folder. Saying is punched withe the Word Window punch and layered onto the Modern Label punch & die.

Third we have this Scallop Bag in Regal Rose-sorry the color isn't good. The sun doesn't shine here when I need to take a photograph! Anyway, this is a great die for the Big Shot! I just started using it and absolutely LOVE it! Regal Rose Cardstock, rolled first with the Kindness Jumbo Wheel in Regal Rose. Edges were sponged for accent. White Taffeta ribbon at the top. For the flowers and butterfly, I stamped first on Whisper White and cut out. I stamped over with the dot image in Craft Whisper White ink. Cut out and add Black Vintage brads to the flowers. The medium flowers were attached to the scallop flap with mini glue dots. The saying was stamped on Whisper White and punched with the 1-3/4" circle punch. Small flowers were stamped randomly around the edge. Others were cut out and attached. Edge is sponged. The decorated circle was attached with dimensionals. The large flower and butterfly were attached with a double (thick) dimensional so they would stand out further than the circle.

Fourth, we have this Top Note Quilt Card. I hadn't done one of these recently and thought this set would work perfectly! I think it did! Click the picture to see all the details close up!! Card base is Rich Razzleberry Textured cardstock. The quilt blocks are from the Cottage Wall DSP pack. After cutting the Top Note, I ran it through the Big Shot a 2nd time using the Petals a Plenty embossing folder. I sponged the edge of the Top Note with Rich Razzleberry ink. I tied a White Taffeta ribbon around the Top Note and layered the saying, this time punched with the Wide Oval punch, over the ribbon. The small flowers were stamped once in Rich Razzleberry, then again with Versamark and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The butterflies were stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White and cut out. I them stamped the dots image over them with Versamark and embossed with Iridescent Ice EP. Love it!! Butterflies were attached with a small piece of dimensional below the body.

Lastly, for you Blog Candy! The Picnic Parade set is from the Occasions Mini, a Level 2 Hostess set. Leave me a comment expressing interest with your name and email address. If comments don't work for you, email me at jennifer@sunflowerstamper.com. I will pool all and draw a winner after the tour. Please make sure I have your name and email address to contact you!!

Click on this to enlarge it, it's almost too small to read, but thought you would all like to know the winner, and the names of the tour paths! I can't make it any bigger without it getting blurry.

Top Pick!

Top Picks

Woohoo!! I got a Top Pick choice from Stampin' Royalty for my card from last week!! So excited!!! Here is the card again just in case you didn't see it.

Wanted to let you all know I've just finished a Design Team commitment for SUDSOL that has been taking away from the projects you see here. It was a very positive experience for me and I'm so very glad I did it. SUDSOL is a demo only online group that I've been a member of forever. It was good to be able to give back after many years of taking! So hopefully I'll be able to get something on here more regularly! But, it's also getting very nice outside and flowers are calling my name, and baseball season is starting... I will try though!!

Don't forget too that the Royal Blog Tour starts tomorrow! Click the link to get to the main site listing all the paths. My post is loaded and ready to go!!! Excited to see what everything thinks of my projects, and what everyone else has come up with to share. You don't want to miss it!!!!!

Royalty Watercolor

Made some time tonight for fun stamping! Came back to the Watercolor Trio from the upcoming Summer Mini. Lovin' that set!!! This card is for the Stampin' Royalty challenge #16, this sketch:

And, here is what I did with it! I can tell it's just about time to plant flowers! I keep doing flower cards in bright colors! Almost time!!

Card base is Elegant Eggplant. Background is Certainly Celery DSP. I did stamp the long stem image from this set, but you can barely see any of it because it's all behind the Top Note. The Top Note was cut from Shimmery White Cs and is stamped with the floral/stem image. I inked the image using my Certainly Celery & Elegant Eggplant markers. The edges of the Top Note were sponged with Elegant Eggplant. I tied Certainly Celery satin ribbon around the bottom. LOVE all the satin ribbon!!! I added Silver Vintage brads at each point and a saying from the set on ovals. Quick and easy and I have a card on hand for the next birthday that comes up on my list!!

Thanks all for stopping by!

SSC148 Watercolor Trio

Another sneak peak for you from the Summer Mini. Well, I guess maybe not a sneak as you should have your Mini by now!! This is for the Stamping 411 weekend sketch. Here is the sketch:

My color choice looks a whole lot like the sketch also! That wasn't planned. I actually started with Celery Satin ribbon, and went from there, and ended up switching the ribbon to white! That's how the creative process goes, especially after an afternoon working a concession stand!

Card base is Whisper White. Background is Certainly Celery that was textured in the Big Shot with the new Square Lattice embossing folder in the Summer Mini. Love it!! Over the texture I lightly sponged Whisper White craft ink. The focal image in stamped on Whisper White, first with the center image inked with Certainly Celery, So Saffron & Rose Red markers. Then I came back around the edges with the 2nd image in Certainly Celery. Corners are Ticket Corner punch. Layered on Rose Red. I added an element for the saying below the ribbon. Large Oval & Scallop Oval punches. On the Thanks so much I added a flower brad from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware. The brads on the flower image are Vintage Silver brads. White Satin ribbon finishes it off! Let me know if you have any questions!!

Sneak Peak-Elements of Style

The Summer Mini should have arrived in the last few days, or will be arriving soon! Here is a recent swap creation using the new set Elements of Style. I think this set has lots of potential!!

Card base is Chocolate Chip. I stamped around the edges using the scroll image in Chocolate Chip. The Top Note was cut from Naturals Ivory Cardstock. The flower image is stamped in Basic Brown so it was waterproof to color. I used a blender pen and classic ink to color. Flowers are Pretty in Pink, leaves Old Olive, centers So Saffron. The edge of the Top Note was sponged with Pretty in Pink. I attached a wide Chocolate Chip striped grosgrain ribbon behind the Top Note and added Vintage Brads on each side at the point. Saying is also from this set, stamped in Chocolate chip on Naturals Ivory, punched with the Large Oval, layered onto a Pretty in Pink Scallop Oval. Both ovals were sponged with Chocolate Chip.

I'm not a big fan of coloring, but like how this came out. And imagine all the other color combinations that would be just as pretty!

Bermuda Awash with Flowers

And, finally the third club card AND another card with the featured set this month, Awash with Flowers. Remember it is available this month as a welcome to spring and a sneak peak from the upcoming idea book and catalog.

Card base is Textured Bermuda Bay. Top Note was cut from Whisper White. We used the stamp-a-ma-jig again to get good placement even though the set doesn't always match up perfect. It got us close!! Tulips were stamped in Bermuda, outlines in Basic Black. The smaller flowers are Crushed Curry. The outside edge was sponged with Crushed Curry. The Happy Birthday was stamped in Bermuda on Whisper White and punched with the Scallop Oval. The Movers & Shapers Punch Window die was used for the larger scallop, also of Textured Bermuda Bay. The white oval was also sponged with Crushed Curry. We tied a Bermuda Bay dotted grosgrain ribbon around the Top Note and attached the scallop ovals with dimensionals. Lastly, we added two-way glue to the small yellow flowers and centers of the tulips.

Back tomorrow with a swap card mailed last week using a new set from the Summer Mini catalog. Happy Wednesday all!!

Masculine Trendy Trees

This great little set is on sale this Month so it's the perfect time to add it to your collection! This is the second club card from the weekend, with a masculine look for a birthday card.

Card base is Always Artichoke, background is Confetti Cream. We stamped on the Confetti with the Woodgrain background using Sahara Sand ink. The corners were edged with the Tag Corner punch to match the tags in the center. The edges were sponged with Sahara Sand and then "roughed" with the distressing tool from the Cutter Kit (p. 191). The trees were stamped using the stamp-a-ma-jig in Chocolate Chip & Always Artichoke on the Confetti Cream and punched with the Small Tag Punch. The edges of the tags were also sponged and distressed. We punched an Artichoke tag with the Large Tag Punch and layered the small one on. To the back we added a small piece of Chocolate Chip ribbon using Snail adhesive and attached the tags with dimensionals. The 'happy birthday' from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in Artichoke on Confetti, punched with the Modern Label punch, sponged & distressed. A second Modern Label was punched from Chocolate Chip, cut in half and layered to each end of the Confetti one.

Enjoy-back tomorrow with card three!

Sweet Pea Bird Punch

Back after another break! Hope to do better this week!! Here is the first of the club cards from the weekend. We did a birthday theme this time, but any saying would do on all of them! This is the last card I came up with, and I wasn't too sure at first. But, it grew on me and I really like it as did my girls! And, any of our DSP would work on this layout!

Card base is Chocolate Chip, DSP prints are from the Sweet Pea pack in the Occasions Mini. The background stripe print was my starting point, and features Taken with Teal and Pumpkin Pie colors. The Scallop circle was cut from a Pumpkin Pie print with the Scallop Circle #2 die in the Big Shot. The edge of the scallops was sponged with Chocolate Chip. The white flower was punched from Whisper White cardstock using the Extra Large Fancy Flower. We stamped two background images from the Sprinkles set (p. 132), one in Taken with Teal and one with Pumpkin Pie. Same for the Wide Oval with the Saying. The edges are sponged with Chocolate Chip on both, and we added Happy Birthday (or another saying) from Fundamental Phrases (p 138) in Chocolate Chip on the oval. The Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch from the Occasions Mini was used on two different prints of paper to get the Bird, wing & branch. We sponged the edge of the wing with Taken with Teal to add a little dimension, then attached to the bird with a dimensional. Lastly, we attached a strip of Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain across the front and added Chocolate Chip brads on each edge. Wide Oval is attached with dimensionals to the card front, across the ribbon.

Need to play more with this bird punch!! NOTE: Most items used on this card are in the Occasions Mini catalog with ENDS April 30. No guarantee that any will make the next big catalog so get them NOW if you haven't yet!!

Back tomorrow with another club card. And, don't forget the Royal Blog tour is coming April 30-May 3. My projects are almost done!! I'm featuring the For All You Do set, page 118.

Awash Thanks

No sketch, no challenge tonight. I'm working on a swap that is, as usual, taking more time than I think it will! And I had great intentions tonight of getting to bed at a decent hour. Not happening! I needed a thank you card for work and decided a break from the swap was in order! Awash with Flowers was sitting by my table so I grabbed it again.

Card base is Bermuda Bay, layer is Crushed Curry. Guess I'm in the mood for bright colors! These two do go great together! I stamped the flower images first, one in Crushed Curry, one in Bermuda Bay then did Basic Black outlines over. Completely eyeballed. And I have the wood mount stamp not the clear. What I was thinking I'm not real sure?? Anyway, it's easy to line up!! Guess all the years of using wood works for me!! Bottom edge of the Curry was done with the Eyelet Border punch, Bermuda Bay ribbon tied around. 'thanks' punched with the Large Oval then Scallop Oval. Pretty simple & quick!!

Royalty Awash with Flowers

Another challenge, another Awash with Flowers card. I like this set-it's very easy to put the flowers together. And, they don't line up perfectly on purpose so it's very easy to eyeball! Quick and easy is always a top choice! This one is for the Stampin' Royalty color challenge this week. Here are the colors:

And here is what I came up with. I couldn't work a sentiment onto the front of the card, but that's OK. I have the full inside!

Card base is Taken with Teal (one of the colors that is going away). I cut the Top Note from Whisper White and stamped the flowers and butterflies in So Saffron & Tempting Turquoise with Taken with Teal outlines and stems. The edge of the Top Note was sponged with So Saffron. A So Saffron brad was added at the top point, and Tempting Turquoise brads on the side points. The So Saffron striped ribbon was tied into a bow and attached at the bottom point. Lastly, I used my Two-Way glue pen and added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the flowers and butterflies (click the picture to enlarge to see detail).

Order your set NOW, or book a workshop and earn it free with a $350 workshop total. The set is available in clear or wood mount this month only until the new catalog comes out.

Happy Monday all! Off and running to see how much I can cross off the to do list today!!

SSC146 Awash Mambo

Finally, a card! So sorry for the long delay! Life sometimes just gets in the way of my stamping! And then you get out of practice and really struggle to get the creativity going. I even had trouble getting the scan cropped & sized to upload!

This is for the Stamping 411 Sketch of the week. Not the best card ever, but a start back on the creative path! Here is the sketch:

and here is what I did with it using the new Sneak Peak set, Awash with Flowers:

Card base is Melon Mambo. I stamped the large outline flower first in Melon Mambo around the edges, then followed up with the Craft White. A "Thank You" from Thank You kindly is stamped at the bottom. I had stamped it first too in Melon Mambo, and tried to do the shadow effect with the White over, but it pretty much landed right on top of the Mambo. Oh well!

In the center is a Crushed Curry layer that was edged at the top with the Eyelet Border punch. A Shimmery White layer was added and stamped with this fun new set. I did the bold image first in the center with Melon Mambo, then around the edges with Crushed Curry. I did the outline image over in Basic Black. A Melon Mambo ribbon around the bottom of the layer finishes it off.

Remember this set is available this month as a Sneak Peak from the upcoming Idea Book & Catalog as part of the 2-Step into Spring Promotion.

That does it for me today. Hope you are all having a fantabulous weekend!

Color Renovation

After much research and study, Stampin' Up! has decided it's time for a Color Renovation. What does that mean? They are completely overhauling our color families. THIS IS A GOOD THING!!! Very fresh!! Here is a look at what the new colors will be:

The new terminology is Color Collections and we have 4 now, made up of 25 Carryover, 10 returning In Colors and 5 new Core Colors. We will still have In Colors, 5 new introduced each year and lasting 2 years. Yep, I said In Colors will be around for 2 years! YEAH!! I love the look of this new collection and can't wait to see the new colors!

Here is a listing of the colors that will be retiring at the end of this catalog. This all takes effect with the next catalog starting July 1. So, if you have favorites that you absolutely can't live without-stock up NOW!! Ink, cardstock, markers, etc.

Take your time and process all of this. I will admit that I was quite shocked at first, but after taking time to process it all, I am now very excited! Change is GOOD!!! SU! plans to keep it a fresh palette by making necessary adjustments every 3-5 years. They expect those to be much less of an impact than this one.

Let me know if you have questions. And again, don't panic. It's only April. The current colors are all around through June so you have time to get them.

Click on the pictures to enlarge the color charts to see them better.
