Love What You Do

Here is a card with a set from the upcoming NEW catalog! It is actually part of an early release that you can buy next month! I'll post full details on that soon!

This is the NEW In Color Grapefruit Grove with the returning color Basic Gray. The ink on Basic Gray will be different - no longer Archival. But the color is staying. All the inks are different I guess, in that they have added a no foaming agent to the inks. I did like this one but haven't used many of them yet! I don't yet have much cardstock to match so it's a little tricky to use them!

I stamped the background splat image in Grapefruit Grove, then added the flower outline image twice over it in Basic Gray. I added some smaller splat images over the flowers to darken them. There is a larger one and a smaller one. Lastly for the flowers I added some Clear Wink of Stella.

At the bottom I stamped the "thank you" in Basic Gray and then added small flowers in Grapefruit Grove. The ribbon is Basic Gray Satin that is retiring.

Product details and shopping links below! Remember, this set is not yet available to you - but will be part of a promotion next month!

Thanks for stopping by today!

New Ink Pads, In Colors and Retirement List Notes!

Hey, all! Happy weekend!! Hope yours is going well!

I have a quick look at the new Ink Pads for you. And they just happen to be the NEW In Colors!

Grapefruit Grove, Blueberry Bushel, Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover & Pineapple Punch. The new ink pads are slightly smaller, thinner and more compact.

The view from the side, new on top of old.

And from the top, old on left, new on right.

Open. Old on left, new on right. The new pads just pull open and have a much tighter fit than the previous ones.

Lastly, a view of some old and new in the Color Caddy. They do still fit, just not a snuggly as before. They don't "catch" quite like the old ones. Jury is still out on whether I keep using this, or find a new solution!

A few notes on the retirement lists. Items are starting to sell out so if there is something you NEED, get it ASAP! If you have questions, contact me!

I also wanted to mention that several Bundles are retiring. But that doesn't mean the stamp and everything is retiring! When something is new, Stampin' Up! often gives us a package deal and a price break on a stamp and die pairing. That package is going away but take special note on the list. The stamp and die likely are not.

Thanks all! Back soon!

Watercolor Wings CTD#488

I spent some time yesterday going through my catalog with the retired list. I did great with the Occasions Catalog, and pretty good with the regular catalog, but there are a few sets I was sad to see on the list. This creation uses one of those - Watercolor Wings! I must say I haven't used it all that much, but it is very fun to put together butterflies with different colors! Here is my creation

Colors chosen the The Color Throwdown challenge of the week. Yellow, Green and Aqua in my world equates to Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Pool Party.

http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2018/04/color-throwdown-488.html

Card base is Wild Wasabi, accent layer of Daffodil Delight with a Whisper White background. The butterflies were stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White. I figured if I used the base of the butterfly as yellow, the other two colors would blend to a degree. Wild Wasabi held its own better than Pool Party-it became fairly green! To get more Pool Party showing, I decided to use it in the background and ribbon. The dots in the background are from the same set. I stacked rows of dots, then added a few scattered larger ones in Daffodil and Wasabi. The butterflies were cut with the Bold Butterfly Framelit. I stamped the body after cutting, then curled the wings a bit over a pen to make them stand out. Attached with Mini Dimensionals. The ribbon is Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon. Just for you at the bottom in Basic Black.

Thanks for stopping by today! Going to try and be back soon, and use more retired sets!! Contact me if any questions!! Product details and shopping links below!

Heartland

I was browsing challenges yesterday before heading up to the stamp room and found 2 that I knew I could put together. Masculine is the theme at Inspire.Create.Challenge. And Global Design Project had a color challenge using Crumb Cake, Night of Navy and Tranquil Tide. Sounded like a good combo!

http://inspirecreatechallenges.blogspot.com/2018/04/inspirecreatechallenges-015-theme.html

http://www.global-design-project.com/2018/04/global-design-project-133-color.html

Below is what I came up with. Maybe not a wow, but it works!

I used the tractor image from the Heartland set stamped in Night of Navy on Crumb Cake. Behind that is a Stitched Frame square cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. The background is Very Vanilla. I stamped the Burlap background at an angle in Crumb Cake after stamping off once. I also ran the background through the Big Shot with the Woodland Embossing Folder. Note: I didn't put it all the way in so the words would not be embossed. I sponged the edges lightly with Crumb Cake, and over the trees just a bit to accent. The Very Vanilla is attached to an accent layer of Night of Navy. The Burlap ribbon is attached on each side before layering onto the card base of Tranquil Tide.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope to be back soon, but can never say for sure! The weather has kept us home this weekend (cold with ice and snow!) but we do hope Spring arrives soon and we can work outside! Also trying to make progress in purging the stamp room!

OK, before I get to lists I need to let you know 2 things.

1) There is a Color Refresh happening with the new catalog. That means some existing colors are going away, some previous In Colors are returning, and some brand new colors are appearing. Still adjusting to this, but I think it will be good!

2) The Stampin' Up! exclusive ink pads are being redesigned. I've not seen it in person yet,or even on video but it sounds great! Along with the more intuitive design is an improved ink formula as well!

So, you will see LOTS of ink pads on the retirement lists, along with lots of cardstock and other things for the colors going away.

Southern Serenade Razzleberry

Hello all! Hope you had a GREAT Easter! We had snow which made it feel more like Christmas! But the sun came out about 3:00 and started melting. Dreary out today but it isn't snowing!

Needed to create something last night after working on taxes for awhile in the afternoon. Reached for this new to me set, Southern Serenade from the Occasions Mini. I've seen some cute stuff with it! Here is my first attempt.

May have to do another as this isn't quite what I was after! It's OK, just not Wow! The lace background was stamped with Crumb Cake and came out darker than I wanted. Probably in part because I recently reinked the pad. Should have stamped off once, or gone with Smoky Slate. I then stamped the flower over in Basic Black. I was going to color with regular markers, then decided Blends might be better. So Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive, light and dark. Hint of Stella in the center of the flowers. Black Shimmer ribbon and Thank you at the bottom. This set has several useful sayings in it!

Thanks for stopping by today! Product details and shopping link below. I'll be adding a host code this morning for April. remember the Occasions Catalog goes through May 1.

Retirement lists are coming out soon! The 2016-2018 In Colors we know are going away so if you want any of those items, get them now! They sometimes sell out VERY quickly!!
