Beauty Abounds Butterfly

Happy Monday all! Decided to start with a little creativity today! Have to go out later and NOT looking forward to that. The wind sounds terrible. Hopefully it dies down some!

Here is the card I came up with

Based on this color challenge from Color Throwdown #CTD527. They always inspire me!!

Challenge colors are Navy, Gray and Green. In Stampin' Up! colors I chose Blueberry Bushel, Smoky Slate and Granny Apple Green. I grabbed a couple new sets from the Occasions Catalog, Beauty Abounds and Butterfly Gala. Beauty Abounds will definitely be a favorite - I love sets with elements like that. Spatters and dots! Card base is Granny Apple, accent layer of Blueberry, background Whisper White. I inked the larger dot image with Blueberry and stamped full strength and off once and again full strength. Smaller circles in Granny Apple, and splatters in Smoky Slate stamped off once. The butterfly from Butterfly Gala was stamped in Memento Black, punched with the coordinating punch and colored with markers. Hind site, blends with ink might have been better for a slightly lighter look. Butterflies are attached with a dimensional. Ribbon is Granny Apple Green 1/2" Textured Weave. Saying is from Butterfly Gala and stamped bottom center in Blueberry. Lastly, a few Glitter Enamel Dots in Granny Apple Green.

**Note: Supply of the Butterfly Duet Punch has been depleted and it is currently unavailable, but it will return!

Dandelion Wishes

Hey all! Wow, two weeks gone since I checked in! January equals lots of book work for me and therefore limited time in the stamp room! I have two cards here to share, similar to the last one I shared. And two more soon. And I just spent some time looking through challenges for ideas in hopes of some time upstairs later today, we'll see!

I did take some time last night and mount almost all the new sets sitting on my desk. So now there is no reason NOT to pick one up and use it :)

Here are two similar cards using Dandelion Wishes. I'm trying to make cards that I will actually mail. These two are Thank You and Get Well.

Both have a Lemon Lime Twist card base with an accent layer of Basic Gray behind Whisper White background. I used the "D" clear block again for the square image. Lay it down and take the ink pad to it so you can see that you have good coverage. Basic Gray dandelions and sayings at the bottom of the square. Thank you is from the Thankful Thoughts set. Accents are from the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins pack in the Occasions Mini. Round and flower shapes in 5 colors! Note: the colors of these are listed as Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist. The second card has the Lemon Lime Twist. The top card has to be Balmy Blue. I literally just went back upstairs and looked because I don't see blue, more of an iridescent color. I think I thought they were neutral or I wouldn't have used them on a Lemon Lime card!

Flirty Well Wishes

Hey, all! Happy Monday. I'm dragging today but still trying to get things done! Too much snow and desk work over the weekend. And not enough stamping - was too tired! Maybe later today if I can cross a few more desk things off the list.

Here is a card I made and actually mailed last week! Goal for this year - make and mail!

Fairly quick card! Card base is Flirty Flamingo, accent layer of Basic Gray and Shimmery White background. I inked my "D" clear block with Flirty Flamingo and stamped on the Shimmery White. Hint, lay the block down on the table and take the ink to it. You'll be able to see if you've got good coverage or not. Over that I stamped the group of dandelions from Dandelion Wishes in Basic Gray. Black would have worked on this card too, I just thought the Basic Gray would give a slightly softer feel. Saying added at the bottom left, and accent droplets. 3 sizes of the clear from the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplet set from the Holiday catalog - still available. This is a good basic card that can be replicated with other colors, sayings and accents. I have a few more done that will share later!

2019 DONE!!

The calendar anyway!! :) Feeling accomplished here, and ready to tackle more projects! I actually mailed a card today too - WOW!!

So following are October, November and December. This was fun! Great set to use for so many different looks!

October. I loved the one I did last year using Merry Merlot, and October is the month we usually go to Napa when we go. So perfect combo!!

I took notes on what I used but they have vanished, so we'll give it a good shot without! Merry Merlot base, accent layer, center petal stamp, October, center dots and background dots. Crumb Cake back petal layer, ribbon, background dots and sponged edges.. Mossy Meadow stamped leaves, some full strength, some off once. Soft Suede center. Love!

November says Thanksgiving. And that to me says brown, red, yellow and orange.

Real Red base and accent layers, stamped center petal and November. Daffodil Delight back petal and ribbon. Soft Suede center and leaves. Pumpkin Pie center and background dots.

December of course says Christmas. And the perfect time for an alternate use!

I've seen many great cards using Painted Harvest as a wreath. Perfect for December! I tested out several greens before settling on Shaded Spruce for the center petal, Pear Pizzazz for the back petal and Cherry Cobbler for the "berries". My most favorite part may be the ribbon! So did NOT expect it to come out as well as it did! I took the Silver Metallic-Edge ribbon (Whisper White satin with Silver edge) and colored it with my dark Shaded Spruce Blend. WOW!!

Thanks for stopping by again today! We're hunkered down for the weekend but hoping we don't get too much snow! Office work and hopefully stamping are on the agenda!! Back soon!! Product details and shopping links below!
