Sassy Birthday

Hey all, back again! I've got the creativity going and there are at least 5 unfinished projects on my desk! And I've made a little headway getting things organized better! Still more to do, but progress! I'm also back to sending birthday cards so I'm continually adding new ones to my stash. And, since I've been going through boxes of stamp sets, I've found some old friends!!

My apologies for using so many retired items lately, but it is what is in front of me! And a goal I have is to use up much of the "stuff" I've accumulated over the last 24+ years! Inspiration is inspiration so I hope I give a little of that. Take the idea and work with something you have!! I know I've said many times before that I expect most of you have stashes just like I do! Hopefully not as much, and I hope you never have to move it :)

Here is one made with Sassy Stems! I also need to work on my pictures - sorry for the bad angle! I will put the light box on my to do list and figure out somewhere to set it up!!

Card base is Early Espresso, background Crumb Cake with a background stamped over in Espresso. Flower image was stamped in Espresso, then I used sponge daubers to apply Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Old Olive inks. Ribbon on the side is Crushed Curry as is the accent panel. Metallic accents on the side and center flowers. Happy Birthday is from a current set, Simply Said.

Quick and easy! I made 2 this morning very similar, I will post those is a few days! Hoping to knock a project or two off my desk this afternoon, or get back on track with the Christmas card challege! So far I'm failing that spectacularly!

Sassy!

Time was very limited again tonight, and I'm up late again! Therefore, this is not a new creation, but something I created last fall for the Nebraska Mini Convention shoebox swap. The swap was a great time and this card was a hit. It also made the Stampers Showcase (for SU!® demos). The colors, Ruby Red, Always Artichoke & Creamy Caramel were inspired by the ribbon.

The flower set is Sassy Stems. The Linen background was used and a sponge for the edges. The circle stamps were from Little Pieces and Simple Shapes. Notice that a couple of the circles were stamped off once to give a different effect. The word set is Warm Words. Enjoy!
