This was my post for the Royal Blog Tour. The links are now gone, the Blog Candy drawing is closed. You may visit the Royal Blog Tour site for one month to see the list of castles if you missed the tour!
Welcome to my Castle!! I'm so glad you accepted our invitation for this wonderful adventure! I am featuring samples using the Contempo Christmas set which is found on page 45 of the Idea Book & Catalog. I have also combined it in a few instances with the Jolly Holiday DSP. Don't forget this is one of the Bundle Specials that SU! has out right now! And, if that bundle interests you, make sure you read all the way through my post and find the Blog Candy at the bottom! Now, on to the fun!

First up is this fun Scallop Square card. The base of the card is actually a Very Vanilla square card that you can't see, it sits just inside the scallops on the back. The Old Olive square was cut with the Scallop Square die. I attached a square of the stripe print from the Jolly Holiday DSP and then attached another Scallop Square, this one cut with the new Scallop Squares Duo Die. Inside that is a Very Vanilla Square with the saying stamped at the bottom and Silver Tinsel attached across the top. The Ornament is 3D, made by punching 3 ornaments, scoring in the center and attaching together. I tied a small piece of Silver Tinsel around the top, added MANY Rhinestones and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The ornament is attached with Mini Glue Dots.

Next up is this Side-step card. I highly suggest trying one of these if you haven't! They aren't near as tricky as they look. I included two views of this one so you can see the steps on the side and how I added the extra items to them. This is regular card size when folded down so it will fit in a regular envelope.
Card base is Cherry Cobbler, cut and scored to be a Side Step. The large panel has a Metallic Gold Layer behind Very Vanilla. The Vanilla was stamped with two Trees in Cherry Cobbler before I added a third in the center that was heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I also added Sticky Strip across the top and bottom and applied Champagne Glass Glitter. Love that stuff! The side steps have the greeting on the front, and three ornaments with lovely little Vanilla Taffeta ribbons. The center ornament was embossed, the other two are Cherry Cobbler.

Next we have a quick and easy card of Glittery trees! Card base is Old Olive. Background is the small dotted print from the Jolly Holiday DSP. I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch across the bottom. For the trees, I stamped them first on a strip of Very Vanilla, alternating Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler. Next I inked the entire strip of Very Vanilla with Versamark and applied Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Heat and you have wonderful iridescent trees! The trees are layered on Cherry Cobbler and I added a small Rhinestone to the star of each tree. That's it!

Finally, this Ornament Trimmings card. Card base is Cherry Cobbler, background is the wide stripe print from the Jolly Holiday DSP. I cut a Top Note from Very Vanilla and stamped the evergreen tree from Lovely as a Tree sideways on it, trying to just get the top, not the bottom, so that it would like like branches. Then I strung Silver Tinsel Trim across it three times. I added 3 Silver Glitter brads at the 3 top points of the Top Note. The Ornaments were stamped on Very Vanilla and punched with the Ornament Punch. I tied a small strip of Tinsel around each and attached with Dimensionals. The saying was stamped in Cherry Cobbler, punched with the Modern Label and layered onto a Modern Label Punch Window cut of Cherry Cobbler.
