Desk Calendar 2022

Howdy all, Happy New Year! Cold and miserable here and about to get worse overnight through tomorrow. Yuck! But after a dinner out this evening we have no plans but to stay home :) Wish  me luck in getting time in the stamp room. I do also need to take down Christmas, but that's about it for this weekend!

Yeah me, I got my 2022 Desk Calendar done. For those that may not remember, this was inspired by a Paper Pumpkin way back in 2015 I think. The stamp set has a 2016 in it, so I assume I received it late 2015 to be made and used in 2016.

And here, here and here to see some of the others I've done!

Mostly a monochromatic look this year using a new set from the upcoming mini catalog called Flowing Flowers. Love the watercolor look of it! I debated whether to show all the months or not, they really aren't anything fancy. But I think you can see some things about different layouts and colors.

Even different ribbons make a different look. This stamp set has 3 different flower images which I rotated, one per background.

I tried to keep my colors seasonal, sort of. This is just a thing for me, what can I say? January is always Blue. Cold and snow = blue. February red for Valentines. March? generally would be green, but I couldn't do green flowers. Not that we don't have lots of pretty ones, they just don't work for me and flowers. March does look somewhat green but it is Coastal Cabana - a very pretty light aqua. April is pastel for easter. May bright for spring. June varies. I've done red, white and blue. This year I went purple. Purple is us and both our anniversary and #2 son's birthday fall in this month. July light purple, Just because? August dark yellow for the start of Fall and sunflowers. September dark red this time, fall or apples? October brown. Yes I know, can't do green but I did brown! The cider in the name got me and I had to try! November Razzleberry. Late Fall, Thanksgiving. and December Merlot. Because wine is always the right answer :) No, it really is a cranberry like color!

Most of the ribbons are retired. I had fun digging out many different white ones, then decided on a few colored ones too!

Misty Moonlight, small flower, 1/8" sheer ribbon wrapped 3 times around

Poppy Parade with a very old "sheer" white ribbon. Believe it was organza or something like that.

Not green :) but Coastal Cabana with a White satin ribbon. LOVE satin ribbons!!

Fresh Freesia with a current iridescent ribbon - officially named Glittered Organdy ribbon (linked below). The dots look pink in the scan but they change in person. This is in the current Mini Catalog AND carrying over!

Melon Mambo with a 1/4" Cotton ribbon

Gorgeous Grape with a current Gorgeous Grape 3/8 Sheer Ribbon

Highland Heather with an also current Highland grosgrain ribbon.

Crushed Curry. White Flax ribbon with a Bumble Bee 1/4" over

Cherry Cobbler. Also a ribbon current in the Mini Catalog but retiring, Cherry Cobler 1/2" metallic.

Cinnamon Cider - it works! Nice White 3/8" Taffeta ribbon on this one.

Rich Razzleberry with a coordinating Stitched Edge Razzleberry ribbon

Merry Merlot with a White Satin Silver Metallic Edge ribbon.

OK, still alot! But updated with current/retiring items. Current are linked below. Mini Catalog items available through the 3rd.

I was asked to post the PDF of the calendar. Let's try it

Wow! - a card!!

Back in the stamp room AND a creation to share!! I made myself go to the stamp room yesterday and I worked on the most recent Paper Pumpkin to try and get the creative juices going. Progress made there and I will share details of that later when all done. Tonight I browsed some of my favorite inspirational sites (aka challenge sites!). Lots are on break this time of year, but I did find something I liked!

This combo from Color Throwdown (challenge closed!) was likely meant as a Christmas color inspiration but I decided it could work without being Christmas! Here is the inspiration

Colors are Red, Pink and Mint. In SU! colors, I chose Real Red, Flirty Flamingo and Mint Macaron. Here is the card I came up with!

It might look a little Christmassy, but I think it can work for an all occasion "happy for you" card!

This is a "triple stamping" technique card. Message me if you have questions on that! Pretty quick and easy really. Card base and accent layers are Real Red. Background layers Basic White. You layer all the white layers together and stamp. Using the Color Contour set, I did the flower "outline" stamp in Real Red. The flower "solid" in Flirty Flamingo. Leaves in Mint Macaron, and also some dots. Also some dots in Flirty Flamingo. And the saying in the middle is Tuxedo Black Memento. Ribbon is from the Holiday (July - December Mini), Real Red Ruffled.
