Positive Thoughts!

Hey all! Here are my first cards with new toys!! Despite trying to be good and not get it all, I had to get a few more from the Mini and SAB catties :)  This first one is something I completely overlooked until I saw a few cards online. Positive Thoughts, page 23 in the Mini.

Super simple, basic stamping! Card base is Thick Very Vanilla. Accent layer of Mango Melody and background of Very Vanilla. I stamped the leaf image first in full strength Pear Pizzazz, then off once to the left and again to the right off once. Butterfly and saying in Basic Gray and flowers in Mango Melody. The Mango/Vanilla top layer are attached and mounted to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. The color possibilities here are endless! The saying too could be changed to any occasion.

Now, something I haven't yet mentioned. Want to step it up?? Stampin' Up! is bringing out some Coordination products February 4. Mostly dies and one set of Designer Series Paper to coordinate with some of the SAB and Mini Catalog items. Guess what, there is a set of dies to go with this set!! Nature's Thoughts. **I will post the details on these items in a separate post, likely tomorrow.*

Again inspired by something I saw online, here is the stepped up version of the above card.

Same colors and basic layout. But I textured the background Very Vanilla with the Basket Weave Embossing folder and die cut the butterfly, leaf and flowers. This can be a bit tedious, but the end result is generally worth it!! Sure gives it a pop! The die cuts were attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. Wow, right?

Happy Birthday To You!

Hey, all! Back tonight with a card. Love this new *FREE* Sale-A-Bration Happy Birthday To You set! Perfect fit for my mission of making and mailing birthday cards!! Colors were inspired by the Birthday Celebration challenge over at Just Add Ink! Birthdays are always a celebration!!

Simple stamping really! Card base is Flirty Flamingo, accent layer of Basic Black and a Shimmery White background. Cake is also on Shimmery White with a Basic Black accent layer. The cake was stamped with Black Memento ink and colored with Stampin' Blends in Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake (light). I haven't colored for a while so it took a few tries to get it right! The cake layer is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals and I added some small pearls for accent. I will be trying this again with other color combos :)

Fall Colorful Birthday

So, this one has been awhile in the works! Last Fall, somewhere around November I gave something away via Facebook and asked for a Fall Stampin' Up Color Combo. The winner chose Pretty Peacock, Terracotta Tile and Crumb Cake. I was very intrigued and decided to give it a try! Fast forward to this week, and the parts were still sitting on my desk. I decided it was time to finish it! Here it is

Love the way it came out! It's no longer Fall, but I have two birthday cards that will be awesome to send next Fall!

Card base is Pretty Peacock with an accent layer of Terracotta Tile behind the Crumb Cake background. On the background, I stamped the Crackle Paint background in Crumb Cake, large leaves in Pretty Peacock, small leaves in Terracotta Tile and open leaves in Crumb Cake. That is where I stopped in November and I wasn't real sure where it was headed or how I was finishing. Picked it up this week and decided the new tag die would be perfect. From the Painted Labels die set, page 26 in the Mini Catalog. I've used this several times already - it is perfect for adding sayings to cards! So I cut the label from Crumb Cake, stamped the Happy Birthday from Peaceful Moments on the right side and cut a Terracotta Tile leaf for the left side. That is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals over Pretty Peacock 1/2" Scalloped Ribbon which was knotted around the background/base layers.

Thinking Merlot

That sounds a bit like wine doesn't it :) Imagine that coming from me!!

Here is a card I'm sending this week to someone who's been a bit down. I was hoping for cheerful and I think I got that. Not bright, but happy I hope!

Painted Harvest is back! I literally flipped my ink storage around looking for inspiration on this one, and settled on Merry Merlot. I wanted to do this layout like the previous "Sorry" ones I did. Thinking of You is from Rooted in Nature and the largest I could find. Still have some wood background DSP sitting by the desk so grabbed one of the lightest. I am running out of options for this type card, the ones left are mostly dark! The stamping is done directly on the wood DSP. Background of the flowers is Crumb Cake, inside petal in Merry Merlot. Center is Early Espresso, leaves Mossy Meadow. Random dots and center flower dots in Merry Merlot. Card base is Merlot, accent layer of Early Espresso behind the DSP. Linen thread accent on the side. Fairly easy and very soft and pretty! I should have made two, may not want to mail this one!!
