Gorgeous Grape Dragonfly!

As I typed that Title for the post I wondered....WHY did I wait so long to try this NEW color??? We ALL know I LOVE purple. LOVE this color!! Look...

Click to enlarge !! :)  I'm now on a mission to try out MORE New Colors!! If only I didn't have to work. And keep up with my garden. and Yard. Oh, and that garage sale I promised...

This card was fairly quick and easy. Card base of Gorgeous Grape. Accent layer of Basic Black behind a background of Shimmery White. I stamped the Dragonfly on a separate piece of Shimmery White a cut with the coordinating Thinlit. I tried stamping with the "2 step" stamp, but thought the Grape was too dark, so I reached for my Marker and a Blender Pen. I did very little with the marker, mostly used the Blender Pen and the ink pad (squeeze the pad to get ink on the lid). Once done I went over it all with the Wink of Stella pen. Again it's very light because my pen is almost empty. I attached the dragonfly with some Mini Dimensionals. The saying was stamped at the bottom with Gorgeous Grape. Check out that new ribbon - more LOVE!!! And those Glitter Dots!!

Hope you like it as much as I do!! Product details and shopping links below! Thanks all for stopping by today. Back soon, I hope!

Beautiful Poppy!

Hey all! Hope your weekend has been a good one! Pretty low key here! Some work done, some resting done :)  I was very productive today so made a point to get to the stamp room tonight!! Here is one of the cards I came out with.

After hanging out with some stamping friends last week and talking about the new colors of Stampin' Blends, I decided to play with at least one of them. I also had the new Brights 6x6 DSP. The combo of those led me to Poppy Parade! I'm not a huge fan of red anymore, but I did like Poppy Parade when it was an In Color. And I really like how this came out! I started with Thick Whisper White cardstock and stamped the flower from Beautiful Day with Memento Tuxedo Black. I then colored with the Poppy Parade, Pineapple Punch and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. Generally for shading, I color the image all in light, then come back in and edge the dark. Grab the light again and blend where they meet. LOVE!! The saying is from Dragonfly Dreams and was stamped in Poppy Parade on a banner of Thick Whisper White. The banner was cut using the Lakeside Framelits. I layered a second banner under of Basic Black.

The card base is Poppy Parade with an accent layer of Basic Black behind the striped DSP Poppy Parade background. After coloring the flower with the Stampin' Blends I went over it all with my Stella Wink of Glitter pen. It is almost empty so it is a little light. The flower was cut out and attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. A Basic Black 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon is knotted around between the flower and the banner.

Springtime Garden

Hello all! Happy weekend :) Hope yours is going well! Pretty nice weather around here, but I haven't yet felt the need to spend much time outside. That may change yet, we'll see! I did make it to the stamp room last night, and hope to get there again today as well. Should be working on pricing and sorting for garage sale, but did this instead!

I always go to challenges when debating what to try, but this time none of those really jumped out at me. Actually, I was debating one color challenge when I picked up the Garden Impressions DSP stack and flipped through it. This background popped out at me so away I went. I love this new butterfly too, and I've also seen really neat things done with the flowers. Those are both in the Springtime Impressions Thinlits set.

So we have Melon Mambo card base with an accent layer of Whisper White behind the DSP. Colors in that are Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink. The flowers are cut from Whisper White and attached over the background. The butterfly is Mango Melody and I brushed it with my Glitter Brush. I attached pieces of dimensionals under the body to attach it over the flowers. The saying and flower stamp are from Abstract Impressions.  I punched the Pretty Label from Mango Melody, added the saying in Melon Mambo and the flower in Mango Melody and brushed lightly with the Glitter Brush. Attached with dimensionals.

That's it! Wish me luck getting back up there, and feeling the need to be productive!! :) Product details and shopping links below!!
