Sketch Frenzy Friday 113012

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a Great week!

Time for another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Kim Innis.

I actually started out thinking bright, but ended up with a very subtle look! Wisteria Wonder and White. Card base is Wisteria with an accent layer of Whisper White behind the Wisteria DSP dotted background. Across the center is a strip of White with a Wisteria ribbon attached over it. The saying from Loving Thoughts was stamped in Wisteria just under the strip. The flower is from Button Buddies and was stamped in Wisteria on White and then cut out. In the center is a Whisper White button with Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine knotted in the center.

Happy Friday all! Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving yesterday! I'm skipping the shopping today and staying home. Maybe we'll do some Christmas decorating!! or I'll continue working on the Christmas cards which I finally started today :)

Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge. Here is my creation of the week

based on this sketch, also by me!

Colors: Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green & Very Vanilla as per the Be of Good Cheer DSP. Card base Cherry Cobbler with an accent of Gumball Green behind the Very Vanilla background. The top portion of the background was textured in the Big Shot using the Lacy Brocade embossing folder from the Holiday Mini. At the bottom I stamped "Merry Christmas" from the More Merry Messages set Above that is a strip of DSP from the Be of Good Cheer pack. attached to that is an ornament from Delightful Decorations. I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler and punched with the coordinating punch. I added small pearls to the image and a medium one in the center. Lastly, a bow of Very Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta attached with Mini Glue dot.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 111612

Happy Friday all!! Hope you've had a good week with a great weekend on tap!

Here is my Sketch Frenzy Friday creation of the week

based on this sketch by Deb Currier.

This one didn't immediately click for me, but once the Sunflower landed in my head I couldn't get past it! The card base is Early Espresso. The background is Summer Starfruit that I textured in the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and then dabbed some Early Espresso ink over (lightly with a sponge). Next I stamped the Sunflower in Early Espresso on Naturals Ivory that I had cut to the desired size. I grabbed a blender pen and added Summer Starfruit ink for the petals. In the center I used a dauber to added some Early Espresso. That is attached to an Early Espresso layer and then to the card background. Over that is an Early Espresso banner that I dotted with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. Lastly, the saying in Espresso on Naturals Ivory from Blessings from Heaven.

Club 3 Gumball Tree

Here is card 3 from Club last weekend! This one was quick and easy!! Inspired by my SFF teammate Tammy Fite.

The card I saw that Tammy made is HERE. She used DSP behind Whisper White that she cut the tree into. I decided to take it up a notch and texture! The card base is Gumball Green. The background is Gumball Green Core'dinations Card Stock that I textured in the Lacy Brocade embossing folder in the Big Shot. When you sand it, you get the lighter green color. The top layer is Very Vanilla that I cut the tree into with the Holiday Collection Framelits. We then stamped the "Merry Christmas" from the Sassy Salutations set in Gumball Green at the bottom before texturing the Vanilla also in the Lacy Brocade folder. Final accent: a Champagne Glimmer star, cut also using the Holiday Collection Framelits set.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hopefully I can make it to the stamp room today to create so I have more to share this week!! This is the end of my stash!! Happy Monday all!!

Club 2 Riding Hood Snowflakes

Howdy all-welcome back!! Hope you're having a good weekend!! Here is card two from last weekend. You've seen me post several cards already using the Snowflake Soiree set. Here is one more. Maybe my favorite so far!!

Isn't this cool?? Several of my girls thought at first look that it was Designer Paper. Nope-we stamped it!! The card base is Crumb Cake with a Whisper White accent layer behind the Riding Hood Red background. On the background we stamped all the snowflakes from Snowflake Soiree. I like to go largest to smallest, so first: the largest in Craft White, next the 2nd largest in Riding Hood. 3rd largest in Illuminate. Last, the smallest in Cherry Cobbler. Remember the Rule of 3 at least for the largest two flakes. The other two you can kind of just fill in or go over the others until you get a look you're happy with! Blend as little or as much as you'd like!!

After stamping the background, we added some piercing and small pearls on the corner. It sort of gets lost in the background though!! But, it seemed like it needed something else. We used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack again and we did three holes on each side of the corner and set a small pearl in the center.

The Riding Hood Red was then attached to the Whisper White and we knotted a Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon around. Again, love the way this ribbon lays and how easy it is to tie. Over the ribbon we added a "Merry" that was stamped on Whisper White in Riding Hood an then punched with the Extra Large Punch. Over the Merry, we stamped an Illuminate snowflake before attaching over the ribbon with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hopefully I've given you some inspiration!!

Club 1 Double Doily

Howdy all! Finally-here is the first card from Club last weekend!

This is another Double Background card as inspired by Dawn Olchefske. You can see my initial creation using this technique HERE along with a link to her blog and tutorial. Basically, it is as simple as it sounds: stamping two backgrounds, one over the other. This is a case of her card as well for the layout. It's so simple, yet WOW!! The card base here is Midnight Muse. An accent layer of Whisper White sits behind the top layer of Not Quite Navy. Chosen because of coordinating ribbon. The taffeta ribbon is perfect for this card but others might work as well. I love that the taffeta lays so flat!

OK, first step is to stamp your saying on the right side. I chose the 'kindness' one from Blooming with Kindness. It is stamped in Not Quite Navy on the Not Quite Navy in the bottom right corner. Now you have your "placement" guide. Ink the En Francais background with Not Quite Navy and stamp on the left side of the card. Watch your orientation and direction of your words!! It would be very easy to get them going the wrong way! Over the En Francais, stamp the Hello Doily background that was inked in Craft White. Be careful not to smudge as you finish! Next, add three brads at the top left corner using the Stampin' Pierce Mat, Essentials Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The Piercing Pack is shown on page 181. For this, you want the center template that has the scallop edges at the bottom and just lines of holes around the top. Choose the spacing you prefer-I left two in between each as there was plenty of room.

In the holes, insert three Metallic brads. The Metallic Brads set has 4 different finishes. This one is gold, I also had a Silver and Antique Brass. Attach the Not Quite Navy layer to the Whisper White and then knot the Not Quite Navy Taffeta ribbon around just at the edge of the background stamping.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Let me know if you have any questions!! Stop back tomorrow for the Snowflake card the girls did!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 110912

Happy Friday all! Looks to be a nice day here. Excited for the weekend as it brings the first competition for the High School Robotics team! Good Luck all!!

On to the reason you are here! Friday means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Tammy Fite.

My card base is Rich Razzleberry with a Basic Gray accent layer behind a Whisper White background. I textured the background in the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder. Across the background are 3 strips of paper: two from the Polka Dot Parade pack in Rich Razzleberry and one of Silver Glimmer. On the bottom one I stamped "cheers" in Basic Gray. Not as dark as I'd hoped, but you can see it. Over the strips is a Rich Razzleberry frame that was embossed with the Oval from the Designer Frames Folders set. I cut around the outside of the frame after embossing and punched a Whisper White center with the Extra-Large Oval punch. I stamped the wine glass (my favorite drink!!) on Whisper White in both Basic Gray and Rich Razzleberry. I cut out the Gray Glass and the wine from the Rich Razzleberry and attached it in the glass. The filled glass in attached with a dimensional to the oval frame.

Thanks all for stopping by today!! Make sure you stop over at the main Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see the other girls' creations and to play along!!

Eggplant Snowflake

I had to do it in purple!! LOVE purple!! Not near enough of it in my world!!

This is so quick and easy yet a WOW!! card. I'm thinking my Christmas card may be some version of this!! Wait until you see the one my Club girls did last weekend(we stamped the flakes on color)-check back this weekend!

Details for this one! The card base is Elegant Eggplant with a Whisper White accent layer behind the background of Crumb Cake. On the Crumb Cake I stamped the snowflakes from Snowflake Soiree. I did the largest in Whisper White, the next size down in Elegant Eggplant, then Illuminate, and finally Crumb cake. Click to enlarge if you need to see the detail more clearly. After mounting the Crumb Cake on the Whisper White, I knotted an Elegant Eggplant Scallop Dotted ribbon around. Over that, is "Merry" that was stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Crumb Cake and punched with the Large Oval punch. Over the Merry, I stamped a Crumb Cake small snowflake.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back Friday for sure with Sketch Frenzy Friday and I will try very had to get the Club cards from last weekend scheduled to post starting this weekend!

Triple Snowflake

Every since I saw the Triple Time technique, I've wanted to try it with snowflakes. Here it is!!

Lots of colors would work with this, and I thought through quite a few options before I started. I wanted to use the White Craft Ink, and maybe the Illuminate pad so I needed color as the background, not white or vanilla. I settled on Pool Party for the background, layered with Island Indigo. I stamped the Believe in the center first, at a slight upward angle. The snowflakes by the way, are from the Snowflake Soiree set. I started with the largest first in Craft White. Then the 2nd largest in Pool Party, 3rd in the Illuminate and the smallest in Island Indigo. After attaching the Pool Party stamped pieces to their coordinating Island Indigo layer, I knotted a Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta around the smallest piece before attaching them all together.

Quick and easy, yet wow!! Thanks for stopping by today!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 110212

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a good week and have a GREAT weekend on tap :) Looks to be somewhat busy here, but that's OK! Excited to see the first Robotics team activity on Saturday, even if I have to be up WAYYYY to early!!

OK, on to the reason you are here!! Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge!! Here is what I created

based on this sketch by Patrice.

I'm stuck on Fall leaves so I grabbed Wonderfall! Clinging to Fall really because I'm not ready for Winter but knowing it can happen at any time!!

My card base is Early Espresso with an accent layer of More Mustard behind the DSP print of More Mustard from the Orchard Harvest pack. I textured the background print in the Square Lattice embossing folder. The accent stripe is also from the Orchard Harvest pack and is mounted on Early Espresso. The leaves were cut from Very Vanilla using the Autumn Accents die and I stamped after cutting. Cajun Craze for the Maple leaf, More Mustard for the small leaf, and Early Espresso for the acorn. I decided to use the medium sized leaf for my saying. The leaf was stamped with Lucky Limeade, then I added the saying from Friendly Phrases in Early Espresso. All the leaves and the acorn were attached with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to stop over at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see the other members creations and to play along!!
