Sketch Frenzy Friday 122713

Happy Friday all!! Hope you had a Very Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year!!

Friday means another challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This will be the last one for me. It's been fun the last few years, but it's time for me to step away, get a handle on a few other things and focus more on business!! Keep checking on the group though!!

Here is my card of the week

based on this sketch, also by me!

I'm in a Purple frame of mind as we get ready to cheer on our Kansas State Wildcats in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl on Saturday night so of course I ended up with a Purple card!! Elegant Eggplant and Smoky Slate. I saw these stars in the Simply Stars set and knew they would go great with one of the bigger sayings. Congratulations from Sassy Salutations was perfect! The background is from the Winter Frost DSP in the Holiday Mini. That was layered onto Smoky Slate and then the Elegant Eggplant card base. I stamped the 3 stars and cut them out, adding a Rhinestone to the center of each. The center star was attached with a dimensional to set just above the other 2.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Make sure you stop over at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see the creations of the rest of the team. And join us-Play along!! Go Cats!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 122013

Happy Friday all! Hope it's been a good week! Better here than last is as positive as I can be! Think we are just about ready for Christmas and that is very good!

Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge and I actually found time to play! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Deb Currier.

I've been missing making Christmas cards this year (but NOT the stress of actually getting them in the mail!) so I decided to go Holiday. I knew the Winter Frost DSP would have a good print for the center panel and I landed on this one with the snowflakes. Then I grabbed the smallest snowflake from the Festive Flurry set. The card base is Smoky Slate to coordinate with the DSP. the layer behind the print is Island Indigo. I stamped the snowflake with the Illuminate Glimmer Pad. I stamped the Peace on Earth from the Calm Christmas set in Island Indigo on Whisper White and cut into a banner shape. I stamped the snowflake again in Island Indigo on Whisper White and cut with the coordinating Framelit. It is attached with a Dimensional. Rhinestones were added to the snowflake and under the right side of the banner.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 111513

Happy Friday all! Can't believe it's already mid-November! Not ready for the Holiday season!! Hope you all had a great week!

Friday means another challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Patrice Herrera.

My creation is pretty simple, but sometimes that is what works best! I chose the In Color Strawberry Slush and the stamp set Gifts of Kindness. I stamped the flowers in Strawberry Slush and cut with an Oval Framelit. I cut a second oval of Strawberry Slush in the next larger size. I textured the background with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder to match the dots on the flowers. The saying at the top was punched with the Word Window punch and layered onto the Modern Label. A few Rhinestones for bling and we're done!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 110813

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a great week! Busy here, but good!!

Friday as you know means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Kim Innis.

I decided to dig through the Christmas/Holiday stamps and Designer Paper and use something from there. Need to play with these lots to see if I can figure out a very easy Christmas card, otherwise this may be the first year ever we don't send one!! Anyway, I landed on the Festive Flurry set and Winter Frost stack. I looked at the DSP, but decided the Stack gave me enough options! Card base is Smoky Slate, Whisper White accent layer behind Coastal Cabana background. On that, I stamped the smallest snowflake from the Festive Flurry set using the Illuminate pad. An accent of Bermuda Bay sits behind the Island Indigo that backs the snowflake. I inked the snowflake with Coastal Cabana, then thumped it with Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo. Neither is very prominent!! Either I had a very light hand, or the colors are more similar than they look! DSP accents are below the snowflake, a Whisper White ribbon accents the top, and Rhinestones make the flake sparkle!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 110113

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a good week!! Not bad here :)

As you know, Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge. Sketch by me and I actually found time to make a card!!

Here is my card

based on this sketch

I started with the Sweater Weather DSP, then decided on the Magnificent Maple stamp and Burlap Ribbon. All from the same page (18) in the Holiday catalog! The card base is Chocolate Chip with an accent layer of Tangerine Tango. The background paper has those colors plus Crushed Curry. I attached the Burlap Ribbon around the top two layers before attaching to the base. I did add Mini Glue Dots for adhesive to make sure it stayed. It's a little thicker than the usual ribbon. For the leaf, I first inked it with Crushed Curry, then thumped it with the Chocolate Chip and Tangerine Tango markers. Make sure you turn the stamp when doing that so you get a variety of marks not all going one direction. The saying is from Lots of Thanks and was stamped over the stem in Tangerine Tango. Quick and easy!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 092713

Happy Friday all! Hope your week was good. Not bad here!! Still wish I could find (or make??) more time in the stamp room but otherwise all is good!!

As you know, Friday means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is what I came up with this week

based on this sketch by Robbie Rubala.

I initially thought DSP with this sketch as those backgrounds are always great with something like this. Then I settled on this set Oh, Hello and the pattern on the oval was too much for another background. So, card stock it is!! I stamped the oval and flower on Whisper White and cut out with Oval Framelits. The flower is attached to the large oval with dimensionals, and the oval to the background with dimensionals as well. I added pears to the top right corner and stamped the saying bottom right. Whisper White Taffeta ribbon was the perfect final accent. Colors, Basic Gray, Strawberry Slush and Whisper White.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great weekend on tap! High school football tonight (go band!!), then hopefully some yard work tomorrow unless its raining!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 092013

Happy Friday all! I must admit it's been a pretty good week here. Feeling better than I have in a long time and actually have some energy after dinner to do something! My norm of late has been to just crash on the couch!! Made it up to the room tonight and got a card done for Sketch Frenzy Friday!!

Here is what I came up with

based on this sketch by Patrice Herrera.

I didn't stray far from the sketch did I? Sometimes, simple and sweet is the best way to go!! I love this DSP print and the new color, Coastal Cabana. OK, so maybe this year's In Colors aren't all that new to most of you, but they still are to me!!

I did a Coastal Cabana card base with a Whisper White accent layer behind a DSP Chevron print. Chevron's are everywhere right now aren't they?!?? Around the top I attached a Coastal Cabana 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim ribbon. I find with this ribbon, to get it to lay flat, attach the ribbon at both sides, then knot a smaller piece around that. I did secure the ribbon too with just a little Snail adhesive and a Mini Glue Dot under the knot. The saying is from the new set Chalk Talk and has coordinating Framelit set. I added two Whisper White Candy Dots and attached to the DSP background with Stampin' Dimensionals.

That's it for me today! Make sure you stop over at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the rest of the team created, AND to play along!! Hope to see you here again soon :)

Sketch Frenzy Friday 090613

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a good week. Found a little time to stamp and create a card this week! Really wish I could find time to be doing more!!

Friday means another challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation

based on this sketch, also by me!!

Pretty simple really!! Elegant Eggplant card base, background is Summer Starfruit DSP. Embossed the flowers from Too Kind with White EP on the DSP. Card stock accents of Summer Starfruit, Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant stripe the left side. The new Candy Dots in Elegant Eggplant mark the corners.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 083013

Happy Friday all, sorry no creation from me this week. Though life has been a little calmer, I've come down with the "back to school crud", or maybe the "state fair crud". Not sure which was the source but I've been down and out the last few days. Here is the sketch of the week by Deb Currier for Sketch Frenzy Friday. Stop over and play along!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 082313

Happy Friday all! Hope it's been a good week for all of you. Crazy start here, but now much calmer! Looking forward to a weekend with nothing major on the agenda for me!! Hoping to spend time in the stamp room!!

Friday as you know means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Angela Walters.

I grabbed the new set Too Kind and two new colors Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar. It's a two step stamp and you'll want the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. Actually, I didn't try it without and if you're using clear you might be able to wing it. My set is wood-mount so I can do a vellum sheet for the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and just leave it with the set. Also, I learned something else tonight. I love the new ink pads for how well they stamp, but they don't work very well for stamping off. I didn't want to use two colors for the flower, I wanted to stamp the back image off once. Doesn't work well, but if you're quick with that first stamp and don't hold it on the paper it works OK. Do hold it then on your cardstock though.

Make sure you stop over at the main Sketch Frenzy Friday blog and see the creations of the rest of the team and play along with us!! We love to see your creations!!

Have a GREAT weekend all!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 080913

Happy Friday all! Another one of "those weeks" here, but I've made it through!! Hope you all had a GREAT week with fantastic plans for the weekend.

Friday as you know means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Sharon Wheet.

I was inspired by the new Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. All Basic Black and Very Vanilla-love it!! The card base is Basic Black with a Very Vanilla accent layer behind the DSP print background. I grabbed my new set, Million and One, and used it after I put it together :). Two very nice phrases in this one!! I cut the shape using the Labels Collection Framelits in the Big Shot. Same size for the Very Vanilla and two Basic Black. The black is split in half, one vertically, one horizontally and attached to the back of the Vanilla. To me, the sizes of Framelits are just a little too wide and I prefer a smaller layer. At the top is a DSP flower punched with the new Pansy punch-think you'll be seeing lots of this one!! I punched the polka-dot black DSP print and added a Very Vanilla button in the center. Final accent, a Victoria Crochet Trim bow.

Thanks for stopping by today! Still not much stamping this week, but hopefully soon! One boy is all signed up & fees paid-ready to go back to High School on Monday. The other goes off to College the following Monday. Throw in an upcoming Estate Auction, general life, a traveling husband, and an overproducing garden and we're running like crazy around here! It will slow down---it has too :)

Sketch Frenzy Friday 080213

Happy Friday all!! Have I shocked you?? A post from me!! with a creation!! Hoping to get back on track, here is step one! My Sketch Frenzy Friday creation of the week!!

based on this sketch by Robbie Rubala.

I dug into my new box of goodies that have been sitting for FAR too long!! The colors, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight. Starting with the Gingham Garden DSP pack. The card base is Island Indigo, the background a Melon Mambo print. A multi stripe print is the accent on the left side. A Daffodil Delight print is the background for the flowers. The flowers are from the FUN new set, Flower Shop which coordinates with the new Pansy punch. LOVE IT!! The saying is from the Really Good Greetings set. The flowers were stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White and punched with the Pansy punch. They are attached with Mini Glue Dots or Dimensionals. The buttons are Island Indigo color from the NEW Regals Designer Buttons. Fun new stuff!!

Sketch Frenzy Frenzy 070513

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a good week and a Great 4th of July! Pretty quiet around here, aside from all the "stuff" going on! Not getting any stamping time, so I don't have a creation to share, but I did want to share the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch of the week, created by me. Hope to get a creation added in over the weekend...HOPE!!

Make sure you stop over and see what the team has created!! You won't be disappointed!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 062813

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a good week! A little too warm & humid here for my taste, but not much I can do about that but live with it!! :0) Hopefully a little cooler for the weekend.

Friday means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday, and one that I actually played along with!! Still trying to get back on track and starting to feel a little better about it!

Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Deb Currier

I wanted to try a new color or two, and after looking for a bit, settled on Pleasant Poppies as the stamp to use. I just put it together the other day! It isn't new this year, but recently new to me. I settled on the Strawberry Slush for the main color, and Basic Gray and Whisper White to compliment. I'm still operating without much new stuff, although it is arriving soon! My ribbon and accessories are very limited, and I don't have the new Color Coach yet for color suggestions. I stamped the big image in Strawberry Slush on a background layer of Whisper White. That was layered onto Strawberry Slush. Near the bottom I attached a strip of Strawberry Slush DSP from the Quatrefancy Specialty pack. Over that and around both layers is a Basic Gray 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon. Over that, I added a 2-3/8" Basic Gray Scallop Circle. On that I added a Whisper White circle that was cut with the Circles #2 Bigz Die. On the White I stamped more Poppies in Strawberry Slush and added the saying "Imagine" in Basic Gray. I did use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the placement I wanted as I cut the circle first. I added a ribbon bow of Whisper White Taffeta at the bottom of that element, and attached the entire circle with dimensionals over the DSP and ribbon. All of that is attached to the card base of Basic Gray.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 061413

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a good week and have GREAT plans for the weekend!

As you know, Friday means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday! And, I actually have something to share this week! Sorry I've been so in and out over the last few months!! Hoping to get back on track soon and stay there :)

Here is my creation of the week

based on this sketch by Sharon Wheet.

I looked at this for a VERY long time before finding my direction. That's what happens when I'm not stamping very often!! I like the final result though! Colors are Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I don't have many new accessories yet so I'm somewhat limited on options!!

I stamped the En Francais background stamp on the Crumb Cake background in Crumb Cake. The flower was stamped in Raspberry Ripple and the words in Soft Suede. A Crumb Cake ribbon accents the side, a Soft Suede flower sits behind the flower/saying element. And finally, two Vintage brads provide and accent.

Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget to stop over at the main SFF blog to see what the rest of the team created, AND to play along!! Have a GREAT weekend all!!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 053113

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a GREAT week! Full of weather here! Storms all week, plenty of rain, and luckily no severe stuff!!

As you know, Friday means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Patrice Herrera.

My color combination: Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight. I found a DSP print that I liked in the new DSP pack, Quartrefancy Specialty, in Daffodil Delight. I knew that would go with Rich Razzleberry, then looked to find a 3rd color for contrast. The returning Bermuda Bay!! I stamped the butterflies from Papillion Potpouri on Whisper White and punched with the coordinating punches. The saying is from a new greeting set, Really Good Greetings, and was stamped in Rich Razzleberry directly on the DSP. The butterflies were attached with dimensionals and have added "bling" rhinestones.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 052413

Happy Friday all, thanks for stopping by!! Thanks for hanging with me over the last few months with my scattered posting!! Hoping soon to get back on a more regular schedule!!

As you know, Friday means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday!! Great sketch this week by Tammy Fite! Here is my card

based on this sketch by Tammy:

I walked into my room tonight (Thursday, after 8:30 pm!!) with no clue where I was going with this! Love that SU! makes such great stuff that I can easily pull something together that works so well!!

The Chevron pattern in the sketch caught my eye, so I started looking at DSP. I landed on the Parker's Patterns pack from the Spring Mini and found a Chevron print in Daffodil Delight. My brain immediately went to a sunflower type flower for the element (imagine that!!). I briefly considered building a flower with the Fun Flowers die, but then settled on the Perfect Pennant Die for the element, with a Secret Garden die cut flower. Colors, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. Simple and Sweet :)

Make sure you stop over at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the rest of the team created, trust me you will NOT be disappointed. Then, play along with us!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 051013

Happy Friday all! and Happy Graduation to all those Seniors who are gracing the stage tomorrow!! My Oldest Son included!! Stressful for Mom, but a VERY special time!!

Today's Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch is by yours truly! Quick and simple and perfect for a couple more graduation cards!! Here is what I came up with

based on this sketch

I needed two cards for out of town cousins and this worked perfectly. Both invites seem to indicate the school colors are Red & Black, with Silver and White accents. I happened to think of the Red Glimmer paper and knew I was set! Card base is Real Red with a Basic Black background layer. I stamped the saying on Whisper White in Real Red and added a graduation cap in Black. The silver brads were the perfect accent for the sketch, and the cap! Hopefully these will be in the mail tomorrow!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Stop over at the main SFF Blog to see what the rest of the team created, and to play along!!

Howdy all, Happy Friday! Sadly, this another one of those "I don't have a card" posts! So sorry! I always have the best of intentions, but this time of year is just crazy! My boys are almost done with their school year, and one of them is graduating next weekend (YIKES). We've been jammed with end of year activities and graduation party prep! I won't bore you with any more details :)

Here is the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch of the week, by Deb Currier.
