Spotlight Texture Birthday

Hey all! Happy Holiday weekend! I did a little creating this week to catch up on birthday cards. Here is the result!

I again combined Elements of Text and Spotlight on Nature for a fabulous result! So many color combos this would work for! I'm using up retired items and colors, but also so many current that would work! This particular is Mango Melody with accents of Parakeet Party. Think Peach Pie and Lemon Lime Twist or Granny Apple Green.

Card base is Mango Melody, accent of Basic Black behind Basic White. The edges of both the Black and White have been roughed. On the Basic White I stamped the round text image in Crumb cake. Over that I stamped the large flower with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the flower image with Stampin' Blends in Mango Melody and Parakeet Party. Once that was done, I sponged Crumb Cake on the edges of the card front, and used the small blender brush to add just a touch of color over the text words as well. Light touch here!! Accents of Champagne rhinestones and a grosgrain ribbon (retired) are the perfect final touches.

Remarkable Friends

Howdy all! Been awhile over here, we got busy :) Definitely no boredom in retirement!! First Spring here so many projects on our to do list!! I have still been working through past Paper Pumpkin and kits. Made a few cards last night for friends so sharing one here!

This is a relatively new Online Exclusive set, You Are Remarkable. It caught my eye and I had to have it! I've also been feeling the need to color so it works for that! I need lots of practice with water coloring! I actually did these twice as I ended up not liking the first ones.

Pecan Pie card base, background of Daffodil Delight. Watercolor paper layer for the flower. Both the flower layer and the Daffodil Delight are cut with dies from the Textured Notes set. I water colored the flower with the Daffodil Delight pencil with a few accents of Crushed Curry. Pecan Pie in the center with a little Early Espresso. Old Olive for the leaves and stems. Retired ribbon knotted around the flower.
