Tangerine Blossoms

Howdy all!! Had Club yesterday so I actually have something to share!! As usual, I'm always hoping to get back into more of a stamping mode but it probably isn't likely for a while. Too much to do outside and at school with it being the end of the year.

Here is the first card from Club, using the Summer Smooches DSP and Bright Blossoms set from the April Sneak Peak.

I had told the girls last month that I would play with the Designer Frames folders for this month. I didn't of course, but I was able to work them into a card fairly easily! I looked at the rectangle one and knew the flowers from Bright Blossoms would be perfect to put in the frame. I picked up the Summer Smooch paper and flipped through for a pattern I liked for the background. Some are quite bright, a couple were too busy (for this), but this Tangerine Tango print seemed perfect.

The card base is Basic Gray with a Tangerine accent layer behind the DSP background. At the bottom of the DSP we stamped a saying from Curly Cute in Basic Gray. This one is Thinking of You. Happy Birthday, Thank You and Congratulations were other options that would work! The ribbon is a Vanilla Satin strip that we attached a Basic Gray Glimmer Brad to. To do that, just open the back of the Brad (using the Paper Piercer) and tuck the ribbon in. Close the brad, trimming the ends if necessary with Craft & Rubber Scissor. The frame was embossed on a piece of Tangerine Tango card stock. Hint: attach the card stock to the folder before you run it through to prevent moving! This might not be necessary on larger pieces, but I found it sure was when the card stock was similar in size to the frame! The frame was layered onto an accent layer of Basic Gray. In the center is a smaller piece of Very Vanilla, cut just to fit inside the frame. On that we inked the vase with Basic Gray and stems with Old Olive. The image has circles for flowers at the top, which we inked just for placement. Over the circles we attached small Tangerine flowers punched with the round flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. On the flowers we added a medium rhinestone for sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Today is the last day to get this sneak peak set or paper until the new catalog goes live June 1. Today is also the last day to order from the Occasions Mini catalog unless items carry over.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 042712

Happy Friday all! Wow, what a week! I'm ready for some down time, but not sure I'm going to get it until Monday! What a crazy time of year with my Boys' school year winding down.

As you know, Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge and mini hop! Luckily, this was my sketch and I had an idea in my head going in! Brain power was quite low this evening when I finally got to this! But, it took me less than 15 minutes to do!! Yeah!

Here is the card I created.

based on this sketch

The card base is Daffodil Delight, with a Chocolate Chip accent layer behind the main layer of Confetti Cream. I scored the top layer with the Simply Scored every 1". The length of that layer was 5", so that was easy, but the width wasn't an even number. I tried to center it on the board, and score on the inch marks. Maybe not exact, but its close. I inked my flower image from Inspired by Nature using Markers: Lucky Limeade for the leaves and stems, Daffodil Delight for the petals, and Chocolate Chip for the flower centers. The accent on the top left and bottom right are the Chocolate Chip 5/16" Neutrals brads. I used the Mat Pack guide for perfect placement.

Going, Going, Gone!!

Howdy all! It’s time to say good bye to the current catalog and SU! has released all the retirement lists. Looks like lots of new things in the works!!

First, released previously, the stamps that are retiring. Remember, these are made by SU! and will not sell out. That is NOT true of the accessories!!

And accessories. Don’t panic when you see this-all the ink pads and many refills are on here, as well as most of the single markers. SU! has a new ink pad in store for us-a firm foam pad. It does look very nice and has a few bonus features I’ll keep a surprise for now J Craft pads will only be available in Black and White. And as for the markers, only a few will be available to purchase singly. Most will only be available in the Color Family set.

Oh, also 5 colors have been reconfigured. SU! does this on occasion if they think they have strayed from where they should be. You will see these on the list, and new ones will be available. The colors are Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum and Tempting Turquoise.

Hopefully I’ve covered all the basics! There is a lot to process and I’m pretty tired at this point of the day.  ***Remember, accessories WILL SELL OUT!! Check that last column on the Excel Sheet. X means it is gone!!

Your best bet for purchasing accessories is to shop online. You can do that at my SU! site HERE. Just click the Shop Now button top right.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 042012

Happy Friday all! Hope you had a good week! Very busy here again, but I guess that's just the new normal!!

As you know, Friday means another challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday and a mini hop. Here is my card

based on this sketch by Deb Currier.

Are you seeing a pattern with my last few creations??!!?? Haven't had time to clean my room, and the Summer Smooches DSP and Bright Blossoms set are out so I just keep using them! I do like the bright colors of them too for this time of year!!

Card base is Island Indigo with a background accent of Daffodil Delight behind the Summer Smooch print. The accent layers are also Summer Smooch prints layered onto card stock. The saying is from Friendly Phrases and was stamped in Island Indigo on the Daffodil print DSP. The flower is from Bright Blossoms. I inked the stem with Lucky Limeade and the small circles with Daffodil. The Tangerine Tango circle flower is a separate stamp I added at the top. I also colored in the center circle with the Daffodil Delight marker. Final accent is a Summer Smooch Fabric Brad beside the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today! If you haven't seen the Retirement list for stamps yet make sure you check out my last post!! Lots of great stamps on that list-get them NOW! while you can!!

Retiring Stamps!

Oh, boy! are you ready?? I'm not!! This one did sneak up on me and I haven't looked all the way through it yet (can't face it yet!!). But, the Retiring Stamps list has been released by Stampin' Up! and it's not a short list!!

Remember, the catalog cycle is changing. The current Idea Book & Catalog will end with May, NOT June as in the past and as it says on the catalog. May 31 is the end!!

Here are links to the retirement list:

one in PDF format HERE

and one in Excel that you can sort HERE

The PDF file is fairly difficult to read as its a very small print in light ink. I found the Excel one easier to see.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

The accessory list will be released on the 25th of April. Stay tuned!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 041312

Happy Friday all!! Hope your week was good. Busy here as usual, but I finally got the taxes done! YEAH!! Maybe I'll actually get to work in the stamp room this weekend as they are promising rain :)

As you know, Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge and mini tour. Here is my card

based on this sketch by Angela Walters.

I used the sneak peak Summer Smooches products again!! Get yours today!! My card base is Island Indigo with a Rich Razzleberry accent layer behind the Summer Smooches DSP panels. The main image is the vase/flower image from Bright Blossoms. For the large flower I used one of the Summer Smooches Fabric Designer Brads.  Note:  These brads are only available NOW during April. They WILL NOT be in the new catalog in June.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 040612

Happy Friday all! And Happy Easter too :) It was a no stamping week here for me-sorry! Life has just been crazy lately!! But, I did manage to create something for the Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge! Here is my card

based on this sketch by Tina Taves

My card base is Basic Gray with a Rich Razzleberry accent layer behind a DSP print background of Rich Razzleberry. The DSP is from the sneak peak Summer Smooches pack. The "scallop" border under the images was done by using the Edgelits Adorning Accents scallop and coordinating Embossing Folder. The flowers and vases are from the sneak peak set Bright Blossoms. I stamped some direct on the card stock, and others on a separate piece and cut them out. Those are attached with dimensionals for effect. I inked quite a few of the stamps using markers. The saying is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
