Sorry Sunflowers

Morning all. Hope your weekend is going well! Pretty quiet here and very nice day yesterday.

Here are a couple cards I made last week. I got the Sorry for Everything set while on sale recently. I've been admiring it for a while. I had an idea it would be great for sympathy cards and I was right. And, I'm not apologizing for using Painted Harvest again. They are the perfect combo! Two cards, slight variation in the DSP backgrounds.

Colors on both are Soft Suede, Crushed Curry and So Saffron. The background layer on both is from the retired Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. These were fairly neutral, but gave it just a little texture. Card base is Soft Suede, accent layer of Crushed Curry. I stamped on the DSP in Soft Suede the "Sorry" and "for your loss". Next I added flowers around. So Saffron is the "back" petal, Crushed Curry the "center" petal. Soft Suede centers and random dots, Mossy Meadow leaves. I attached Linen Thread around the end of the card and knotted a piece near the center. Beautiful!

There are LOTS of colors that would work with this, and probably many other flower stamps too. You will see this layout again from me :)

Have a great rest of your weekend and start to your week. I'll be back Wednesday with my creation for the Color Throwdown challenge. Hint, the colors were perfect for me. And, I tried a new stamp set!! Shopping links and product details below. Thanks for stopping by!!

Throwback Thursday!

Couldn't resist the color challenge at TGIF with this retired set, French Foliage. It is my all time favorite leaf set. I pulled it out last year after the garage sale and it is still hanging around :) Probably not going back on the sale block ever.

Early Espresso, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz. Card base is Early Espresso, accent layer of Calypso Coral and background of Very Vanilla. I stamped the leaves randomly, intermixing slightly. Then added dots stamped off once. I stamped the Happy Birthday from Perennial Birthday at the bottom of the Calypso layer in Espresso, then tore the bottom of the Vanilla background. I sponged all the edges of the Vanilla layer with Early Espresso. I tied a (retired) Pear Pizzazz ribbon around and layered it all together. Quick and easy and another birthday card for my stash!

Painted Harvest TGIF

Hey all! Back again. For the record, I did put Painted Harvest away over the weekend. And made two cards with different sets. But then I had to get it back out for the color challenge over at TGIF!! #TGIFC236 It caught my eye, and I've made two cards with it and I like them better every time I look at them! Here is the first

And, their challenge graphic. Colors are Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, Calypso Coral.

Card base is Early Espresso. Accent layer of Calypso Coral. Background of Very Vanilla. I stamped the "Friend" from Daisy Lane in the bottom corner in Early Espresso. Then two flowers. First the "back petal" layer by stamping off once in Calypso Coral. Then the "center petal" flower in full strength Calypso Coral. Center in Espresso. Accent leaves in Pear Pizzazz. I stamped another flower on a separate piece of Very Vanilla and cut it out. Ditto for 3 leaves but I punched them out. The cut out flower and leaves are attached with dimensionals. I knotted a (retired) Calypso Coral ribbon just above the saying. Last accent, just a "wink" of Stella on the centers of the flowers.

I sometimes struggle with the layout and these flowers, but this one works well! Thanks for stopping by today! Shopping links and product details below!

Rooted in Nature Fall

Hey, all! Back again :) Weekends at home are awesome!!

When I haven't stamped for a while I always start by browsing some of my favorite challenges. The color challenge at The Color Throwdown CTD567 caught by eye. Fall colors are also my favorite! Here is my card

based on their challenge of Teal, Olive, Rust and Navy. Stampin' Up! Colors are Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Night of Navy.

Card base is Night of Navy, accent layer of Bermuda Bay. Background is Very Vanilla that I stamped four different leaves on, one in each color. Took me two tries to get it where I liked it. My random is out of practice :) Copper trim is wrapped around the center and the top accent is a 2" circle layered onto the Starburst punch in Bermuda Bay. Pretty quick and easy to do!
