Hello all! Finally found some time in the stamp room this weekend! My weeks get crazy but the weekends have been more calm lately. We did some work outside early yesterday then spent the rest of the day inside, with the AC on!
Since I've been more out of stamping than in, I've spent some time browsing around for stamping challenges. Some of the ones I used to follow aren't active anymore. One I've found is Global Design Project and here is my creation for their color challenge!
The challenge was to use Basic Black, Old Olive and Calypso Coral. I recently put together my Awesomely Artistic set so I reached for that. I was picturing something much different, but I like how this came out. Not sure why I was inspired to watercolor, I don't usually like to do that! I stamped the image in Memento ink on Whisper White. First I used my Old Olive and Calypso Coral markers to color the darker areas. Then I grabbed a blender pen and added lighter colors. I used my Basic Black marker to add a center dot to the flowers. Since I didn't have any ribbon that matched, I grabbed the stamp in this set that resembles ribbon or Washi tape and stamped it twice near the bottom in Old Olive. I stamped the oval element in Calypso Coral and added the Friend in Basic Black. I cut that out and attached over the Old Olive with dimensionals. The Whisper White background is layered onto Old Olive, then Calypso Coral and finally onto a Basic Black card base.
