Dragonfly Dreams CTD524

Hey all! Hope everyone is doing GREAT so far this year! I've found some more time in the stamp room - yeah! Tonight is a card I created for the color challenge at Color Throwdown. Love the bright colors, but especially at this time of year when everything outside is so drab! Here is the card

And the challenge inspiration. In Stampin' Up! Colors I chose Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple Green, white and black.

The card base is Granny Apple Green with a Basic Black accent layer behind the background of Shimmery White. I stamped that with the dot image from Dragonfly Dreams in both Granny Apple Green and Pineapple Punch. Some angled to the left, some to the right, some overlap. I also ran it through the Big Shot with the Polka Dots Basics Embossing Folder.  For the dragonfly, I first took the "solid" wing image and colored with markers. Pineapple on the outside, Granny Apple on the inside. I stamped that on a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock, then stamped the outline of the dragonfly over it with Memento Black. I then picked up the markers again and made both colors darker. After using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit to cut it out, I ran over all of the dragonfly with the Wink of Stella to give it LOTS of shimmer. The saying at the bottom was just cut and layered onto Basic Black and attached with dimensionals. A Pineapple Punch 1/8" grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the card base 5 times, then knotted in the center with a separate piece. Dragonfly attached with mini dimensionals and done.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back tomorrow, I'll have the next 3 calendar pages posted sometime then. Shopping links and product details below.

Gorgeous Grape Dragonfly!

As I typed that Title for the post I wondered....WHY did I wait so long to try this NEW color??? We ALL know I LOVE purple. LOVE this color!! Look...

Click to enlarge !! :)  I'm now on a mission to try out MORE New Colors!! If only I didn't have to work. And keep up with my garden. and Yard. Oh, and that garage sale I promised...

This card was fairly quick and easy. Card base of Gorgeous Grape. Accent layer of Basic Black behind a background of Shimmery White. I stamped the Dragonfly on a separate piece of Shimmery White a cut with the coordinating Thinlit. I tried stamping with the "2 step" stamp, but thought the Grape was too dark, so I reached for my Marker and a Blender Pen. I did very little with the marker, mostly used the Blender Pen and the ink pad (squeeze the pad to get ink on the lid). Once done I went over it all with the Wink of Stella pen. Again it's very light because my pen is almost empty. I attached the dragonfly with some Mini Dimensionals. The saying was stamped at the bottom with Gorgeous Grape. Check out that new ribbon - more LOVE!!! And those Glitter Dots!!

Hope you like it as much as I do!! Product details and shopping links below! Thanks all for stopping by today. Back soon, I hope!

Beautiful Poppy!

Hey all! Hope your weekend has been a good one! Pretty low key here! Some work done, some resting done :)  I was very productive today so made a point to get to the stamp room tonight!! Here is one of the cards I came out with.

After hanging out with some stamping friends last week and talking about the new colors of Stampin' Blends, I decided to play with at least one of them. I also had the new Brights 6x6 DSP. The combo of those led me to Poppy Parade! I'm not a huge fan of red anymore, but I did like Poppy Parade when it was an In Color. And I really like how this came out! I started with Thick Whisper White cardstock and stamped the flower from Beautiful Day with Memento Tuxedo Black. I then colored with the Poppy Parade, Pineapple Punch and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. Generally for shading, I color the image all in light, then come back in and edge the dark. Grab the light again and blend where they meet. LOVE!! The saying is from Dragonfly Dreams and was stamped in Poppy Parade on a banner of Thick Whisper White. The banner was cut using the Lakeside Framelits. I layered a second banner under of Basic Black.

The card base is Poppy Parade with an accent layer of Basic Black behind the striped DSP Poppy Parade background. After coloring the flower with the Stampin' Blends I went over it all with my Stella Wink of Glitter pen. It is almost empty so it is a little light. The flower was cut out and attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. A Basic Black 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon is knotted around between the flower and the banner.
