Howdy all, happy Thursday! Back with another creation from last weekend. I'm having as much trouble finding time to post as I usually do to stamp! We got blasted with snow Monday, 12 inches or so. Luckily the plow came down the road in good time and hubby is good at getting the drive cleaned off. I need to go re-shovel some sidewalks and the deck today! Very messy out and about!
So, Celebrate Sunflowers. When I first got this set I sat down and colored several sunflowers with Stampin' Blends. One made it to a card right away, see it HERE in Purple Posy. The other 3 have been sitting on my desk 😞 I picked them up and decided it was time they made it to cards!! Here is the first in traditional sunflower colors.
The sunflower was colored with So Saffron light and dark, Daffodil Delight light and dark and Soft Suede light and dark. The sunflower was first stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. After coloring it was cut with the coordinating die for the large flower from the Sunflowers die set. Card base is Daffodil Delight with a Soft Suede accent layer behind the Very Vanilla background. I stamped the background with the Stacked Stone background stamp. I makes me think of home and my favorite university :). I stamped it off once so it wasn't too dark. Accents leaves and stems cut from Soft Suede with the die set. The Happy Birthday is from the Peaceful Moments set and is stamped in Soft Suede on a Stitched Rectangle. Ribbon is the new Fine Art from the new mini. Saying and flower are attached with dimensionals, the accents with Fine Tip glue. I'm having a love/hate relationship with that right now! Think I'm just not used to using it, I feel like a Kindergartner with the mess I make 😧
Thanks for stopping by today! Bookwork, a Walmart run and my snow shovel are in my future. Hopefully I can make time to schedule posts for the other two sunflower cards and maybe make it back to the stamp room where I have a few birthday cards under construction.
