Coastal Celebrate

Morning, all! Happy Monday!! Had a little play time last night. I've been wanting to do some water coloring and I found an inspiration yesterday. See the blog post here for the samples I found from Leah. She calls them Daisies; I still think Sunflower when I use the set. To each their own!

Here are my first attempts. I did two and selected very different colors.

Coastal Cabana

and Merry Merlot

Both are pretty but I think I used too much water. Leah said to stamp with the color you are using and then watercolor. I did that but seem to have lost most of the detail from the flower image. Maybe too much added ink? Will try again!

So, steps. On watercolor paper, stamp the detail large flower image in your color of choice. Then watercolor. The stamped image will bleed, and I added more color. On the top one, I stamped in Coastal then added Crumb Cake in the center and Bermuda near the center. The Merlot one has Suede in the center and some Flirty Flamingo around the outside edge.

Next cut the outline large flower in the color you chose and cut out the detail flower with the large outline die. Attached together. This always gives me fits - I just don't do it often enough, I guess! The Coastal has a bit of Linen Thread under it - it needs more, and I may go back and fix that. It was the end of the roll, and I didn't take time to find another. The Merlot has the Gold Fine Art ribbon under it. Flower is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals over the ribbon. Gold Gilded Gems in the center of the Merlot, Coastal Sequins on the other.

Let me know if you have questions! I will likely be revisiting this. Have to order more watercolor paper or try it with cardstock and see how that works. Thanks for stopping by today! Product details and links below.
