Art Gallery Butterfly

Howdy all. Still stamping and watching basketball. Family bracket challenge makes it fun! Here is a creation for today. Modified from where I was originally headed, but that is OK. I know what I like. The first attempt was NOT it! This is better.

This has been floating around in my head since I saw it last week as a sketch challenge over at TGIF. The challenge is closed, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. The colors came from a another challenge and this is where I modified. The challenge was Blackberry Bliss, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue and gold. That is more colors than I generally work with, and definitely too many for this layout. The flower is Highland Heather for the back layer, Gorgeous Grape on the front. I initially did the butterfly with Balmy Blue and Blackberry Stampin' Blends but I didn't like it. Ripped it off (gently!) and redid with Balmy and Highland. Much better! Card base is Gorgeous Grape with accent layers of both Balmy Blue and Highland Heather. Shimmery white background embossed with the Painted Texture 3D folder. Gold accents are Gold Glitter Enamel Dots. Great birthday card to add to my stash and hopefully send someone soon!

Razzleberry Art

Happy Monday all. Monday already, and February. How did that happen???

Here are some birthday cards I worked up last weekend, mostly last Monday while it was snowing. I was inspired by a color challenge at The Color Throwdown, but I ran out of steam before I got any done to post by their deadline. The challenge was Plum, Cream and Black and I knew immediately it would work with Rich Razzleberry! Here is the first card I came up with. I was shooting to do several of these for birthday's I missed in January.

Card base is Rich Razzleberry, accent layer of Basic Black and background of Very Vanilla that I textured with the new Painted Texture 3D folder. Love that background! I added Mossy Meadow to the mix for my flower stems. I stamped the flower and leaves on Very Vanilla and cut with the coordinating Floral Gallery dies. I was trying to add a little more black and found a retired shimmery ribbon and some sequins. The sequins are from the Poppy suite last year and they do not come with adhesive. More fun with the Fine Tip glue! I really thought they would pop right off once dry, but they do not! Quite secure. It is a little bit of work though! I like the look, what do you think? They saying and the tab it is on are also from this stamp and die set.

Here are two more versions. This one, I added pearls instead of the sequins. 


Much more subtle but I like it too. I think I could have used larger pearls too, this size almost gets lost!

And the last version, no accents but the ribbon.


Likely I just got lazy here! But let me know if you like pearls or sequins better than plain and I can still add them! Hoping to mail at least a few of these today!

Sunflower Birthday 2

Howdy again, another sunflower card!! 💜 this set!!

This is the second flower that hung around on my desk for forever! I opted to do different backgrounds with each of the 3 cards I did this weekend. This one features DSP!

The sunflower here was colored on Vanilla with Flirty Flamingo light & dark Stampin' Blends. Center is Gray Granite, also Stampin' Blends. The flower image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored, then cut with the "outline" sunflower coordinating die. To put this together I chose a Flirty Flamingo card base, Gray Granite accent layer, and a DSP background from the In Good Taste pack. So many great prints in this pack!! Accent leaves cut with coordinating dies in Gray Granite, stems in Flirty Flamingo. Ribbon is Shimmery Gray Granite. Saying is on a very narrow Stitched Rectangle from the Art Gallery set. Flower and Saying attached with dimensionals, leaf and stem accents with Fine Tip Glue.
