Special Tasteful

Howdy all! My first creation of the weekend! Very cold here in Nebraska with snow off and on and lots in the forecast, ugh! Glad at this point I don't work Mondays. I was scrolling through challenges Saturday looking for inspiration and found a color one that intrigued me. Here is what I came up with

based on this color challenge from Stamping Pals.

Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue. So soft and pretty and makes me think of Spring!

Card base is Daffodil Delight, accent layer of Balmy Blue and a Whisper White background. I looked at several sets for something that would work before landing on Tasteful Touches. I first stamped the leaf image in Pear Pizzazz twice angling out from the center of the background. Then added the squares in Balmy Blue. The flower I stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White and cut out. I textured the background after stamping with the Tasteful Textile 3D folder. The saying "tag" was cut with a die from the coordinating Tasteful Labels set. The saying was added in Balmy Blue. I figure this will work for a birthday card since I'm trying to get in the habit of mailing more of those :) Flower was attached with dimensionals and a retired Daffodil ribbon knotted under the saying. Blue gems were the perfect accent under the saying.

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be back this week as I put together a few more cards last night and have a few more ideas in my head that I hope to get to today or tomorrow. Snow days are the perfect stamping days!! Happy Stamping all. Product details and shopping links below.

Mango Plaid Sunflower

Hey all! Back with the other card I created this week. This version has Happy Birthday on it, but some were the same Thank you as the previous ones.

This plaid print is a blend of Mango Melody and Rich Razzleberry. Card base is Mango Melody, Whisper White background with texture from the Tasteful Texture folder, background flower of plaid DSP, accent layer is Rich Razzleberry and leaves in Mango. Rhinestones under the Happy Birthday and Shimmery Crystal Effects in the center of the flower. Accents attached with Fine Tip Glue for more sticky fingers :)

Plaid Bunch

Howdy all, happy weekend! I finally finished some cards I started back around the first of the year. It was a great idea, just a little more labor than I thought they would take! But, I mailed 14 cards yesterday and that feels GREAT! So, there are two versions, here is the first.

Inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. You all know I love sunflowers and this just spoke to me! The plaid is Designer Series Paper from the August-December mini catalog which unfortunately is no longer available. The colors and blends from the plaid designs are awesome. This one is pretty basic in Bumble Bee and white but it is perfect for a sunflower! Tomorrow, you'll see one with more color :)

Card base is Bumblebee. Background is Whisper White embossed with the Tasteful Texture 3D folder. The dies from the Sunflowers set cut the background flower (plaid), the accent flower in Early Espresso and 3 leaves in Bumblebee. The rectangle is from the Stitched Rectangles die set. I stamped the saying in Early Espresso and added some rhinestones. The flower accent was attached to the background with fine tip glue as were the leaves to the background. The rectangle is attached with Mini Dimensionals, and the flower with regular Dimensionals. In the center of the flower I added some Shimmery Crystal Effects.

I need more practice with the Fine Tip Glue, I had it everywhere! My fingers were definitely sticky, not inky this time! Thanks for stopping by today! Product details and shopping links below. Remember Whisper White is now Basic White. I have lots of Whisper I'll be using up, butI will get a Basic soon to compare!

Cajun Art Birthday

Howdy all, Happy Monday! I tried to stamp last night but it just wasn't clicking. But, woke up this morning with an idea running through my head so to the stamp room I went! The rest of my to do list will wait! And, luckily it worked today. Came out quite nice actually:) Here is the card

Colors inspired by my friends over at The Color Throwdown. Rust, Cream and Brown.

Or in Stampin' Up! colors, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede. This is a new set from the January - June Mini Catalog, Art Gallery. Beautiful flower set with great sayings, coordinating dies and DSP! You'll be seeing more of it for sure! The card base is Thick Very Vanilla, with a Cajun Craze accent layer under the large Stitched Rectangle Very Vanilla background. I stamped the stem in Soft Suede, and the flower in Cajun Craze. I did a second flower on a separate piece of Very Vanilla and die cut. It is attached over the first one with Mini Dimensionals. Saying on a small rectangle also attached with Mini Dimensionals and new Fine Art Gold ribbon knotted over the stem.

2021 Part 2

Hey, all! Happy New Year! Quiet weekend at home for us so I'm alternating between things around the house, taking down Christmas and stamping. I got the second half of my desk calendar done yesterday and started on another project I'll share when mailed. For now, here are the 2nd half for 2021.

Same set, Beauty Abounds, and  mostly just dots like the first 6. July. No real reason to pick purple, except that purple is always the right answer :) My reason last time was that flowers around here are generally in full bloom and they are almost always purple! This is all 3 shades of purple we currently have: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Purple Posy. Large circles are Grape, small Heather, dots Posy. Card base and accent also Grape. Tricolor ribbon knotted around.

August. I made notes of my colors last time and this one said Sunflower. Sunflowers generally do bloom around then here and I am a big fan! Colors here are the new In Color Bumblebee (large dots, speckles, base and accent) and Cinnamon Cider (small dots). Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon tied around for accent.

September. This is a very different combo than any done previously. This says fall to me, like Mums. Blackberry Bliss and Bumblebee. Large dots, background and accent in Blackberry. Small dots in Bumblebee, splatters in Smoky Slate. Bumblebee ribbon for accent.

October. This is a combo I stumbled on accidentally last time with these: Merry Merlot and Crumb Cake. The Merlot always feels a little red to me, and I'm generally not a fan of that. But Merlot (the wine!) I am a huge fan of! October is the time of year we generally go to Napa, or I should say in the past have gone to Napa. Not sure that will ever happen again, but I still like this combo! Large dots, base and accent layers are Merlot. Small dots and ribbon Crumb cake. Smoky Slate splatter dots.

November. Fall, Thanksgiving. The splatter is a little too dark on this one, but I'll live with it! Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede. Suede splatter, Curry small dots, Pumpkin large dots, accent and background.

Lastly! December. Cherry Cobbler and Gray Granite. Did the dots a little different, they kind of make me think of snowmen! and no small dots, just some splatters. Cherry dots, accent and base layer. Granite splatter and ribbon. Done!

Thanks all for stopping by today! Ask if any questions. I haven't been doing product detail link, but I can help if you have questions. Some of the ribbon I've used are retired but colors this round are all current. I'm going to go finish a few Christmas boxes and try to get back to the stamp room for a while!
