Soft Seedlings

Hey all, look who's here! It has been far too long, but I've got a few things in the works! A weekend at home hopefully will let me get some things created!!

I saw a color challenge the other day that stuck with me and got the creativity wheel spinning. Made it to the stamp room last night, and came out with this!

For the Challenge at Color Throwdown here.

Challenge colors are Navy, Mustard and Brown. That came out as Night of Navy, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede. I tried Espresso but it was just too dark! Card base is Soft Suede, accent layers of both Navy and Curry. Rectangle die cut the Very Vanilla base. 3 leaves stamped, one in each color rotating the stamp. Smaller rectangle with the saying in Suede attached with dimensionals. Ribbon accents - the Espresso is current, Curry is not.

Quick and easy! And the desk is clean and ready to go again!! I finished a Paper Pumpkin that I will share soon, and peeked at another to start!! Have a GREAT Friday all and Happy Weekend. I'm excited for one at home!!

Forever Fern CTD634

Howdy all. Took myself to the stamp room this afternoon, finally! Basketball and trying to get my creativity back! Came up with one card so far, inspired by a color challenge over at Color Throwdown. Pretty sure it is the first time I've used Forever Fern - sad! I always like the cards I see, just never made time for it!

Here is the challenge graphic. Light Green, Dark Green, Gold and White.

Card base is Whisper White with a background also of Whisper White but textured with the Subtle 3D Embossing folder. My greens are Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz. Gold in the ribbon and accents around the leaves. I cut one non stamped leaf in Pear Pizzazz for the very back. I stamped two different leaves in Pear Pizzazz and two in Garden Green and cut with the coordinating die. I layed them down and rearranged until I liked the look. Some are attached direct to the card with various adhesives, some with Mini Dimensionals for added dimension. Ribbon around the bottom to cover the stems. Saying at the very bottom on a shape from the Tasteful Labels die set.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm headed back upstairs so wish me luck in managing more creativity! Product details and shopping links below as usual.

Life is Beautiful!

Happy Thursday all! Looks foggy damp and dreary outside and it's still very dark at 7:30 am. Fall is fast becoming Winter! Here is the second card I created Tuesday night. Great color combo from my friends over at The Color Throwdown

And their color challenge. Kraft, Cream and Cranberry.

Stampin' Up! Colors used are Crumb Cake, Merry Merlot and Very Vanilla. But I used a Shimmery Vanilla (non SU!) so it is very soft and pretty! Accent layer of Merry Merlot and card base of Crumb Cake. Tree was stamped on the Vanilla with Crumb Cake. I did the shadow at the bottom and dots on the tree with Crumb Cake stamped off once so it's very light. I then went over the tree again with the sparkle image in Merry Merlot. Saying in Merlot on a separate piece of Vanilla accented by Merry Merlot attached with dimensionals over gold edged Vanilla ribbon. Gold gems for accent on the tree and under the saying.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope to be back soon :) Shopping link and product list below!

Tasteful Touches

Hey, all! I finally made it to the stamp room AND created something! Yeah! Always feels good to have something work. Took a few tries, but that's OK! As usual when I'm out of practice I browsed through some of my favorite challenges and the color combo at Color Throwdown caught my eye. Especially after I read the colors :) #ctd604 #colorthrowdown Here is my card

and their graphic

It looks like brown, black and white but the verbal says Terracotta so... I had to reach for our In Color Terra-Cotta Tile! I haven't used it often but I like it when I do. It works great for Fall color combos so keep it in mind as we head into Fall! Also my first use of the Tasteful Touches set that is new in the annual catalog. Love all the cards I've seen with it and like how this came out. I did a background with the squares image alternating black and Terra-Cotta and stamping most off once. The background is Shimmery White which I textured with the Subtle 3D folder. Sometimes just a touch of texture is the perfect step up. I sponged the edge with Terra-Cotta ink and attached to an accent layer of Basic Black. The flower was stamped on a separate piece of Shimmery White and colored with a sponge dauber and Terra-Cotta ink. I went over it with my Wink of Stella glitter brush and attached to the background with Stampin' Dimensionals. I knotted a Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon between the saying and background stamping and attached to a Terra-Cotta card base.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to be back soon. It is gorgeous outside though so a few weeds are calling my name. I'm putting a link to my store below but skipping the product links for now as our base website is changing on Tuesday. If you have questions, email me. I will try to come back Tuesday or Wednesday and add products once I know what the new links will look like. Happy weekend all!

Painted Thinking

A new color combo with a favorite set and card layout! Red is not a go to color for me, but every once in a while...

Created for the challenge of the week at The Color Throwdown. #ctd589

Red, Black, Gray and White. In SU! Colors, Real Red, Basic Black (Memento ink), Smoky Slate and Whisper White. Painted Harvest set with saying from Rooted in Nature. I've done several of these cards before in a variety of colors. I had the set out for the most recent SU! Color Challenge, which I will share in a few days but I wondered if it would work for this too. Really wasn't sure if the black would be too much for the flower centers. I don't think so and really like how it came out! Card base is Real Red, Basic Black accent layer, Shimmery White background. Flowers were stamped with Smoky Slate as the "background" petal, Real Red "center" petal, Black center with dots over and Smoky Slate leaves. Also dots randomly around in varying strengths of Black and Real Red. Thinking of You in Black as well. Real Red (retired) narrow ribbon.

Ornate Style

Happy weekend all. A busy but good day at the office, martini now in hand :) Various around the house plans for the weekend. Some outside, some in the office, some in the stamp room and probably some Disney movies as we try out new to us Disney+.

My first play with the Ornate Garden Suite uses just the Ornate Style large flower! Colors are from The Color Throwdown Challenge of the week #CTD587.

Colors are listed as Pink, Gray, Green and Kraft. The SU! Colors I chose are Flirty Flamingo, Gray Granite, Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake.

I stamped the image with Memento ink and let it dry. The cardstock used is a Shimmery Vanilla (contraband) but very similar to the Shimmery White that we carry. I used Stampin' Blends to color. First the leaves with Mint Macaron. I like to color the entire image with the light color, then accent and edge with the dark. So on the leaves I did up against the flowers dark and the lines. Then go over the blended area again with the light. Small flowers are Gray Granite. Center flowers and stems are Crumb Cake. Large Flowers Flirty Flamingo. Very happy with it, especially considering I haven't stamped at all for a while, and it's been FOREVER since I colored anything! Smile is from Daisy Lane. Card base is Flirty Flamingo, accent layer Gray Granite.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a GREAT weekend! Stay home, stay safe :) #keepstamping Product details and shopping links below.
