Dandelion Wishes!!

Hey all, long time no see! I made it back into the stamp room last night and actually created a few things!  Vacation plus extra work days has really gotten me out of the routine! Hopefully you'll see me a little more regular for a while. This is a card I made to send to a friend. Follow all the way through for a few notes and a couple other color variations.

Flirty Flamingo card base, Basic Gray accent layer, Shimmery White background. Background image from the Bokeh Dots set in Flirty Flamingo. Dandelion and saying from Dandelion Wishes in Basic Gray. Accents are Pearl sequins. Pretty quick and easy right? Well, sort of. The background image is not necessarily easy to stamp. I've seen grumbles about it online and this was my first time using it. I had it very well inked and tried to make sure the ink was even. This is a Distinktive set so it is a little tough to tell! I did OK with the Flirty Flamingo. It seemed like it maybe had an accent of sort around the edge but otherwise seemed right.

But then I tried other colors. I looked through my accents to find a color to use. Coastal Cabana seemed like it would be a good fit. It did NOT stamp well! Very dark edge and not even on the stamp. Coastal is not that dark of an ink. I will play more with it and see if it is a color thing, or how I'm inking the stamp! It was very late last night.

I did get two more done that are OK. You can see the background image is not as good as the one above. First, Mango Melody. Love this color and every time I use it I wonder why I haven't recently!

Mango Melody card base, Basic Gray accent layer and Shimmery White background. Stamped background in Mango Melody, flower and saying in Basic Gray. Sequins again Pearl.

Lastly, a new to me color. Seaside Spray. One of the new In Colors, it's been hanging around for awhile, but first time I've used it!

Like the color but again the background image wasn't perfect. And, let me explain those sequins!! Remember I said it was late! I pulled out the pack of sequins that includes the Pearl above, and also Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam. My tired brain put Soft Sea Foam and Seaside Spray together. One is green, the other blue! But honestly, in my room last night they were more iridescent than green. The scanner picked up green of course! It really depends on the lighting and the angle! Here on my desk this afternoon there is some green, depending on the angle. It works!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I do have another card in process. And a few new thing to play with! If I don't find tax forms in my mail box, I may go play for the rest of the afternoon :) Product details and stamping links below!
