Hey all! Going stir crazy? I'm getting there, but trying to stay busy. Made it to the stamp room last night and finished the February Paper Pumpkin, Lovely Day.
First, take a look at the new packaging. Shrink wrapped to prevent water damage!
Also the label is now on the shrink wrap, so the box is nice and pretty underneath if you want to reuse it! I've never had one wet, a couple slightly squished but no damage to anything inside. But my mail man is good, and my mail box is a good size so the box fits in!
Ok, the kit!
Birthday Cards! And the stamp set...
Very nice flower, words, and cake! Rococco Rose was the ink spot color this month. Coordinating colors, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Pretty Peacock, Rich Razzleberry, Rococco Rose and Old Olive.
I generally put these together as instructed and vary very little. But you could, and many people do. I'm generally just impressed with myself to get a kit done that I don't try to be creative :) These were a perfect fit for me as I'm trying to create birthday cards to have a stash on hand to mail. Boom, 8 cards done!
As per the usual, not a lot of stamping. Paper Pumpkin tries to make it easy to they can be completed quickly! Preprinted elements and paper. All the sayings on the banners are stamped, the center of the cake on the top card, the flower accent on the second, and the flower outline on the third. See below for before and after.
Left is how the white layer was printed, right is after I stamped the flower. Very cool! The banners and bigger words are rose foil accented. Sequins were included in the kit, so those have been added to all cards. I learned how to use my Take Your Pick Tool! Many of our accents have adhesive on them so this isn't really necessary but these did not and using the adhesive dots in the kit did not sound like a good idea. Great combination with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen!!
Here is a video by Stampin' Up! on the Take Your Pick Tool in case you aren't familiar!!
