Butterfly Friend

Hey all, back again. Got lost in other activities recently, Spring, Basketball, taxes (UGH!), Unfortunately it happens and won't be the last time :) March Madness is just getting started and my tax timeline is getting shorter!! Oh, and Spring is coming. Temporary set back this weekend, but it is on the way! That means lots of things need to happen outside!!

I walked away from the office desk yesterday because I wasn't feeling it. Didn't have much better luck in the stamp room, but I did come out with this, my first attempt with the new Butterfly Brilliance bundle.

Not as wow as I would like, turns out the butterflies are on paper that isn't great to color with Stampin' Blends. I stamped and cut a bunch of these a while back. Should have tested first! They are on the Pearlescent Specialty paper in the current mini. The paper is really pretty and I'm sure there are great uses for it, but this isn't one! The Memento ink bleeds a bit and the Blends didn't blend like they do on cardstock. My bad for not testing! I'll be exploring other avenues to color the rest of these! This is completely fixable - just use cardstock for the butterflies before coloring!

Card base is Calypso Coral, accent layer of Basic Black and Mango Melody behind the DSP background. This DSP is one of the prints from the Butterfly Bijou set. Love the color combo! I colored 3 different butterflies with Mango Melody & Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends. The saying is from the Peaceful Moments set. Retired sparkly Basic Black ribbon knotted around.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hoping to make it back upstairs - being consistent definitely helps the creativity!! And I'm really curious now to do more with these butterflies!! There is LOTS of potential there :) Have a GREAT Sunday all. Product details and shopping links below as usual.
