Debossed Sunflower

Hey all, it has been a minute! Sorry! But I was very creative yesterday and will have several things to share this week! First up, this lovely sunflower card! Everyone needs a sunflower in January :)

How fun right? Just a bit of time, and a little messy but otherwise straightforward. Emboss your cardstock in the Sunflower folder, then turn over to the debossed side. The indent, not the raised. Color in the "low" areas. Anything that is raised will get inked with the pad later, and likely some of what you color. But look at the petals, centers, leaves. I used Blends, I assume regular markers would work too. They are a little more intense and hard to direct to certain areas. Blends also give you light and dark. I may give it a shot though, later this week and see! I used Daffodil Delight light and dark for the petals, Old Olive for the leaves, and Crumb Cake in the flower centers.

Then I went over it all with my Early Espresso ink pad. A foam pad is going to work best and a fairly well inked one. Not over inked as that will likely just bleed everywhere! I laid it down sideways (shorter) on scratch paper, and with the pad at an angle, so the top edge is catching the cardstock but not the entire pad, went top to bottom twice in one spot, then moved over. About 3 "stripes" will cover all. You can repeat anywhere you need to. Angle your pad just a tad and don't have a heavy hand. Let it sit and dry for several minutes!! I love it and can't believe I waited this long to try it!

The folder is on my desk so I hope to play more! I have one more to share later plus several other cards as well. So check back this week!
