July, August, September!

Howdy all! Hope your week if off too a GREAT start! Quiet weekend with some things accomplished, and off to a running start today! This time of year brings lots of tax related home office work for me but I'm feeling good about where I'm at. Still finding some time to stamp too!

July, August and September detailed below! October actually is done too, but I'll save it to share with November and December soon!

July. What color does July say?? Red, White and Blue obviously, but I used that for June. So I went with Purple. Purple is always the right answer for me! I thought July usually starts with full bloom on flowers around the house. They may not survive the heat of the month, but we at least start with them in full bloom! My pots usually contain at least some purple petunias. Sometimes all purple, sometime mixed. Here is what I did.

I was very glad to see a darker purple return to our color families! Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Gray Granite. The base, center petal, July, and center dots are Gorgeous Grape. Back petal is Highland Heather. Center and background dots and ribbon are Gray Granite. Awesome, right?

August I went with "regular" sunflower colors. There are soooo many varieties of sunflowers out there! I generally plant a few different ones. Here is my basic version.

Crushed Curry base, center petal, August and some dots in background. Daffodil Delight back petal. Soft Suede center and some background dots. Crumb Cake leaves, center dots and background dots. Burlap ribbon for accent.

September, a more fall colored Sunflower.

I hope that you are all seeing how flexible this awesome set Painted Harvest is! Many color options whether you want it to look like a sunflower or something else!!

This one is Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake. The card base and accent layer, center petal, center dots and September are Cajun Craze. Back petal and background dots are Crushed Curry. Center and background dots Crumb Cake. The ribbon accent is Copper Trim. It looks darker in the scan than it is in real life!

More Desk Calendar!!

So I'm officially as far as I made it last year! 6 months done. And I have color notes for more months, just need time at the desk to get them done!  Here are April, May and June!

April to me says Easter and therefore pastel colors.

I turned my ink caddy to the Subtles side and started pulling colors! Base is Highland Heather. Accent layer Blushing Bride. Flowers are Balmy Blue back petal layer, Highland Heather center petal, Blushing Bride center, So Saffron dots center and in the background, Mint Macaron leaves, Granite Gray dots in the background and sponged edges. For the ribbon I took the 1/8"Sheer Whisper White and colored it with my dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blend.

May is generally the time when the roses in my yard give us their first full bloom. Bright pink Knock Out Shrub roses.

Lovely Lipstick and Melon Mambo. Had to test them to make sure the went together, and see which was darker but LOVE the result! Lovely Lipstick base and accent layer. Also the center petal, dots in the center and background and "may". Melon Mambo is the back petal. Gray Granite center, leaves, background dots and sponged edges.

June. My first thought was patriotic. Maybe not a common thought for June, buy my Son was born on Flag Day. I debated saving that for July, but went ahead with June. Still thinking on July!

Base and accent layers are Pacific Point. Flowers are Real Red back flower petals and center dots, Pacific Point center petals, Gray Granite centers and background dots. Since we have two dates next to each other this month, I did one blue and one red. Ribbon is the Real Red 1/8" Solid Ribbon. I also dropped the month lower than usual on this one so almost a full flower shows at the top.

Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully back soon! Product details and shopping links below.

Dragonfly Dreams CTD524

Hey all! Hope everyone is doing GREAT so far this year! I've found some more time in the stamp room - yeah! Tonight is a card I created for the color challenge at Color Throwdown. Love the bright colors, but especially at this time of year when everything outside is so drab! Here is the card

And the challenge inspiration. In Stampin' Up! Colors I chose Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple Green, white and black.

The card base is Granny Apple Green with a Basic Black accent layer behind the background of Shimmery White. I stamped that with the dot image from Dragonfly Dreams in both Granny Apple Green and Pineapple Punch. Some angled to the left, some to the right, some overlap. I also ran it through the Big Shot with the Polka Dots Basics Embossing Folder.  For the dragonfly, I first took the "solid" wing image and colored with markers. Pineapple on the outside, Granny Apple on the inside. I stamped that on a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock, then stamped the outline of the dragonfly over it with Memento Black. I then picked up the markers again and made both colors darker. After using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit to cut it out, I ran over all of the dragonfly with the Wink of Stella to give it LOTS of shimmer. The saying at the bottom was just cut and layered onto Basic Black and attached with dimensionals. A Pineapple Punch 1/8" grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the card base 5 times, then knotted in the center with a separate piece. Dragonfly attached with mini dimensionals and done.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back tomorrow, I'll have the next 3 calendar pages posted sometime then. Shopping links and product details below.
