SUDSOL Blog Tour!!

SUDSOL Blog Tour, February 1st!

Welcome all to another edition of the SUDSOL Blog Tour!! We are featuring items from the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration Mini catalogs. If I know my fellow SUDSOL members, you will NOT be disappointed!!

Customers, remember this tour is geared toward SU! Demonstrators and you will see commercials along the way. Just enjoy the great ideas you're seeing and continue past the commercials. Fellow demonstrators, check out SUDSOL along the way! Sign up for the FREE Two Week Trial!! You won't be sorry-I promise!!

I've been a member of SUDSOL almost as long as I've been a demonstrator. I do not have a local upline so SUDSOL has always been my source of inspiration. Information is shared very promptly, and questions asked are always answered!! And the best part-TONS of GREAT ideas are shared every day!! And the Gallery holds them all!!

OK, to the good stuff! You will find detailed product information below the links if you need to see specific products and item numbers. Also, you can click the pictures to enlarge the card to see the detail more clearly.

First up is this wedding card using Love & Laughter.

Blushing Bride, Basic Gray & Shimmery White. The background print is from the Twitterpated DSP in the Occasions Mini. I layered it and the Basic Gray accent layer together, then put it through the Big Shot with the Adorning Accents Edgelit, cutting them both together. Then, I embossed it with the Adorning Accents matching folder. The dress in the center was stamped in Blushing Bride on Shimmery White and cut out. I added Blushing Bride Pleated Satin ribbon at the bottom edge and a Blushing Bride flower button at the hip. The rectangle I was layering the dress onto what just a tad too big, so guess what: Adoring Accents Edgelit to the rescue. I cut all three layers at the same time with just a little bit of a fuzzy edge that a sanding block took care of. The dress is attached with dimensionals and the whole element is attached to the background with dimensionals.

Next up is these Cherry Flowers.

I'm loving these big, bold flowers from Mixed Bunch!! While thinking through colors that might work for these, I remembered the new Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler and knew I had to try it. I pulled out the outline flower and stamped it 3 times in Cherry Cobbler. After punching with the matching Blossom punch, I added the Dazzling Details to the center and the lines through the petals. Let it dry while you do the rest of the card. Anyone know what I made the "pot" from?? ....

The center of the Scallop Oval Bigz die. I've done something similar in the past with oval punches and had a feeling this was going to be the right scale for these flowers. Yep-works perfect!! I cut each end off with the paper cutter to give it the pot shape. The card base is Cherry Cobbler, with a Basic Gray accent layer behind a Whisper White background. I'm really liking Basic Gray right now!! It's the perfect accent color with so many colors!! The 'Happiness' is from the new set in the Occasions Mini, Loving Thoughts. I stamped it in Basic Gray then added a Whisper White grosgrain ribbon around the pot. The flowers once dry were attached to the card with dimensionals. Very sparkly and pretty in real life!!

Next, this birthday card using the lovely roses from Apothecary Art.

This card started while preparing for Club a few weeks back. I wanted to use this new set, but I decided the coloring was too stressful for a group setting. It's fine at home just me and the stamp table though, so I finished it for the tour. The Rose label image was stamped with Basic Gray and then colored with Regal Rose, Blushing Bride & Old Olive. I did the roses with a mix of Blushing Bride and Regal Rose markers. The leaf images were done with a blender pen and Old Olive Classic ink. I never much like my coloring, but from a distance it looks OK :) The Apothecary Art set coordinates with the new Labels Framelits Dies so I cut the image out after coloring with the closest size die. You can see it leaves a little edge around the stamp image. As for layering, the next size die is a little more larger than I'd like, so I did something cool someone on SUDSOL shared the other day. Remember how we layer the Decorative Label? Yep, cut two more of the same size. Cut one in half vertically, the other horizontally and layer to the back of the colored panel. It gives you a few more bumps on the outside edge, but it works for me. Thanks SUDSOL for the great idea!! I think it was Robin Messenheimer who shared it!!

Lastly, this bright and cheery card using FREE goodies from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

I used the items from the Hostess bundle: the Fresh Vintage stamp set, the Everyday Enchantment DSP and the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack. Hostesses earn this with a $400 workshop. Customers can earn each item separately with a $50 purchase. The card base is Poppy Parade with a Baja Breeze accent layer behind the DSP print background. The flower image from the stamp set was stamped three times on a Whisper White strip, two in Poppy Parade and one in Baja Breeze. To the center of each flower I added a brad from the Brad pack. Two are Lucky Limeade, one Poppy Parade. On the edge of the Whisper White strip I added some of the Lucky Limeade ribbon from the Ribbon Pack. I find this ribbon a little tricky to tie nicely, so I don't. I wrapped it several time around and secured to the back of the whisper white. Then, I knotted two smaller pieced around the front and trim. Give yourself plenty of ribbon to work with! Small pieces just frustrate you!!

OK, that's it for me!! Thanks for stopping by today!! Continue on the tour by using the links below!! I hope you'll stop back and see me again soon!! Don't forget the Two Week FREE trial!!

Jennifer, I love your work! I cased your Cherry flower card for a swap. I used the same set, but was going to ues a different flower. I was having issues with one of the stamps, so I had to punch my flowers out of the card stock instead of stamping them. Everyone still seemed to like it:)Thanks for the inspiration and have a great day!
