Sketch Frenzy Friday 020113

Happy Friday all! Wow, another week gone already! Today is February-I'm sure not ready for that!! Hope you had a GREAT week!

Friday means another round of Sketch Frenzy Friday! Here is my creation

based on this sketch by Maria Vanderform

My card base is Pacific Point with a background of DSP from the Sunshine & Sprinkles pack in the Spring Mini. The top layer is Daffodil Delight that was textured with the Fancy Fan Folder. In the center I cut a flower from the Floral Framelits set. I attached  Melon Mambo ribbon at two of the sides. I cut the ends of each at an angle and used a ruler to try and line it up. I stamped a Pacific Point flower using the Mixed Bunch set and punched it with the coordinating Blossom Punch. In the center is the saying "here's to you" from Friendly Phrases. It was stamped in Melon Mambo on Very Vanilla and punched with the 1-1/4 Scallop Circle Punch. I sponged the edges of that with Daffodil Delight. In the center, over the "o" is a Daffodil Delight small flower button with Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine knotted in the center. The flower was attached to the background with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you stop over at the main SFF blog to see what the rest of the team created, and to play along with us!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 062911

Happy Friday all! Hope it's been a good week for you!! I feel good to be back to stamping!! The room has been sorted out and new goodies have arrived!

As you know, Friday means another round of the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge and mini tour. Here is my creation of the week

based on this sketch by Deb Currier. Clean and simple-just what I needed tonight!!

My card base is Real Red with a background of Real Red DSP from the new Polka Dot Parade pack. The accent square is Daffodil Delight card stock backing a DSP print of Daffodil, also from the Polka Dot Parade pack. You'll be seeing lots of use of this paper!! These circles go with everything!! The flower is from Mixed Bunch-Real Red with a Daffodil Delight center and a Real Red button in the center with Whisper White Bakers Twine. Button have seemed to go perfectly with everything I've done this week! The saying is from Loving Thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by today!!! Continue on our tour by clicking HERE to see what Kim has created this week!!

Wisteria Wonderful

Card two from the Open Houses last weekend. Love this one, it's purple!!

Card base is Wisteria Wonder, with a Concord Crush layer behind the Whisper White background. On that background we stamped 4 Mixed Bunch solid flowers in Wisteria Wonder. Near the bottom flower, we added they saying from Loving Thoughts in Concord Crush. The accent flower in the center was made by punching a flower from Whisper White (no stamping first), then sponging the edge with Wisteria Wonder. In the center is a flower punched from Wisteria Wonder using the Triple Layer Blossom Bouquet punch and a Wisteria Wonder In Color Brad. The flower is attached to the background with Stampin' Dimensionals. We rounded the corners of the Whisper White and Concord Crush before attaching the layers together. Quick and easy!!

Concord Peach Mixed Bunch

Card three from the weekend! While surfing for inspiration late Saturday night, I found several cards similar to this and decided to take the idea and run with it!!

The basic idea starts with the Peach Parfait dotted flower. It is actually punched out of the top layer, Whisper White, and the Peach you see is the DSP layered below. Cool isn't it!!?? We added the center of the Peach flower by stamping the 3/4" circle image in Concord Crush and punching out. In the center is a brad from the Circle Fire Rhinestone Brad set. The Concord flower was stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White. We punched it out, added a DSP center, and a brad in the center. Both the Concord flower and the center of the Peach flower were attached with dimensionals. The two Peach outline flowers were stamped in Peach Parfait directly on the Whisper White. The bling in the center are the fabulous Rhinestone Jewels. The saying is from Friendly Phrases. The DSP, by the way, is from the 2010-2012 In Color Patterns stack. And, I'm sure you know what I'm going to say next!! These two colors are retiring with the catalog in May! STOCK UP NOW!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're having a fabulous week!!

Concord Pear Mixed Bunch

Busy stamping weekend for me so I will actually have cards to share this week!! Great time both days!! Days spent with fellow stampers are always GREAT days!!

This card is from a workshop on Saturday. The layout is probably familiar as it's the same as my Club girls did last month. My inspiration was a card by my upline, Linda Gutierrez. See her version HERE.

Card base is Concord Crush. An accent layer of Pear Pizzazz behind the background layer. The background is a Whisper White layer with a DSP print of Pear Pizzazz at the top. The DSP is from the Twitterpated pack in the Occasions Mini. Missing these colors already!! Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz are two of the five 2010-2012 In Colors that will be going away when this catalog retired May 31. :( Stock up NOW!!! Across the center is a strip of the fabulous Pear Pizzazz Pleated Satin ribbon. Thinking of You at the bottom is from the Curly Cute set and was stamped in Concord Crush at the bottom of the Whisper White. Happy Birthday, Congratulations and Thinking of you from this set also work well on this card! The flower was stamped in Concord Crush and punched with the matching Blossom Punch. The center image was stamped in Pear Pizzazz and punched with the 1" Circle punch. The final accent is a Pear Pizzazz Glimmer Brad in the Center. I also did versions with Concord Crush and Silver Glimmer brads. The flower is attached with dimensionals to sit over the ribbon. Quick and easy, yet WOW!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! More to come this week-make sure you stop back by!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 030212

Happy Friday all! Hope your week has been good and you have great plans for the weekend.  A road trip home for me on the agenda-excited to see Family!!

As you know Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge and mini tour. The sketch this week was brought to us by Patrice Herrera. Here is what I came up with.

based on this sketch by Patrice.

I really like the end result, but I have to admit I wasn't sure at first!! Maybe it's just our various products go together SO WELL!! The color is Calypso Coral. Base of Chocolate Chip with a card stock accent behind the DSP print in Calypso Coral. I stamped the flower from Mixed Bunch in Calypso on Naturals Ivory card stock and punched it with the coordinating Blossom punch. In the center is a Champagne Glimmer Brad. The saying is from Friendly Phrases.

Thanks for stopping by today! We hope you'll play along with us this week! Upload your creation at the main blog post HERE. Hope to be back soon!!

Cherry Mixed Thanks

Card two from Club last weekend. This was inspired by cards my upline Linda Gutierrez shared. See her versions here. I love the simple yet WOW! look of them!! I only have the pleated ribbon in Baja Breeze & Blushing Bride, and I was short on the Blushing Bride, so I had to look at DSP that would work with the Baja. Here is what I settled on.

The DSP print is Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler and is from the Twitterpated pack in the Occasions Mini. I love the contrast of these colors together!! Card base is Cherry Cobbler with a Baja accent layer behind the Whisper White/DSP layer. I cut a full layer of Whisper White and we attached the DSP at the very top. The ribbon is attached across the center with Snail adhesive or Mini Glue dots. It is not tucked at the edge, just trimmed neatly. When doing that, make sure you have some adhesive right at the edge of the card. The bold flower was stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White and punched with the Blossom punch. The center was stamped in Baja Breeze, also on Whisper White, and attached with Snail. In the center is a Glimmer Brad from the Basics set. I used Silver on one of my samples, and Basic Gray on the other and both looked great! The flower is attached with dimensionals to straddle the ribbon. The 'Thank You' is from Curly Cute and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler on the bottom corner.

Thanks for stopping by today!! I will be posting the last club card on Saturday, and don't miss the latest challenge from Sketch Frenzy Friday tomorrow! Maybe more posts if I get done cleaning today and find to stamp!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 021012

Happy Friday all! Wow, I had one of "those weeks" where I didn't touch the stamps at all! Yikes!! Not cool! and that will be a problem very soon as I have Club this weekend!! Actually, it's early yet for that!! Sunday afternoon is a long time away :)

Anyway, as you know Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch and mini hop. Sketch this week by me!! Here is the card

Based on this sketch:

This sketch is based on a card I did last fall for my Open House using the Baby Wipe technique. So, of course I was inspired to do that again but using the fun new Mixed Bunch set. I looked for some Springy colors, something bright and cheery. It's finally decided to be Winter here in Nebraska and I'm NOT liking that! We had about a foot of snow last weekend-YUCK!! Anyway, my fun colors are Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze and So Saffron. I used reinker on a Baby Wipe and made a blended stamp pad with all three colors. I inked the ornate flower using that ink pad and stamped the background. The card base is Poppy Parade with a Baja Breeze accent layer. The edge of the background layer was sponged with So Saffron. The saying is from Curly Cute. I sponged the edge of that layer also with So Saffron and layered onto So Saffron that had the edges punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch.

OK, to the good stuff! You will find detailed product information below the links if you need to see specific products and item numbers. Also, you can click the pictures to enlarge the card to see the detail more clearly.

First up is this wedding card using Love & Laughter.

Blushing Bride, Basic Gray & Shimmery White. The background print is from the Twitterpated DSP in the Occasions Mini. I layered it and the Basic Gray accent layer together, then put it through the Big Shot with the Adorning Accents Edgelit, cutting them both together. Then, I embossed it with the Adorning Accents matching folder. The dress in the center was stamped in Blushing Bride on Shimmery White and cut out. I added Blushing Bride Pleated Satin ribbon at the bottom edge and a Blushing Bride flower button at the hip. The rectangle I was layering the dress onto what just a tad too big, so guess what: Adoring Accents Edgelit to the rescue. I cut all three layers at the same time with just a little bit of a fuzzy edge that a sanding block took care of. The dress is attached with dimensionals and the whole element is attached to the background with dimensionals.

Next up is these Cherry Flowers.

I'm loving these big, bold flowers from Mixed Bunch!! While thinking through colors that might work for these, I remembered the new Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler and knew I had to try it. I pulled out the outline flower and stamped it 3 times in Cherry Cobbler. After punching with the matching Blossom punch, I added the Dazzling Details to the center and the lines through the petals. Let it dry while you do the rest of the card. Anyone know what I made the "pot" from?? ....

The center of the Scallop Oval Bigz die. I've done something similar in the past with oval punches and had a feeling this was going to be the right scale for these flowers. Yep-works perfect!! I cut each end off with the paper cutter to give it the pot shape. The card base is Cherry Cobbler, with a Basic Gray accent layer behind a Whisper White background. I'm really liking Basic Gray right now!! It's the perfect accent color with so many colors!! The 'Happiness' is from the new set in the Occasions Mini, Loving Thoughts. I stamped it in Basic Gray then added a Whisper White grosgrain ribbon around the pot. The flowers once dry were attached to the card with dimensionals. Very sparkly and pretty in real life!!

Next, this birthday card using the lovely roses from Apothecary Art.

This card started while preparing for Club a few weeks back. I wanted to use this new set, but I decided the coloring was too stressful for a group setting. It's fine at home just me and the stamp table though, so I finished it for the tour. The Rose label image was stamped with Basic Gray and then colored with Regal Rose, Blushing Bride & Old Olive. I did the roses with a mix of Blushing Bride and Regal Rose markers. The leaf images were done with a blender pen and Old Olive Classic ink. I never much like my coloring, but from a distance it looks OK :) The Apothecary Art set coordinates with the new Labels Framelits Dies so I cut the image out after coloring with the closest size die. You can see it leaves a little edge around the stamp image. As for layering, the next size die is a little more larger than I'd like, so I did something cool someone on SUDSOL shared the other day. Remember how we layer the Decorative Label? Yep, cut two more of the same size. Cut one in half vertically, the other horizontally and layer to the back of the colored panel. It gives you a few more bumps on the outside edge, but it works for me. Thanks SUDSOL for the great idea!! I think it was Robin Messenheimer who shared it!!

Lastly, this bright and cheery card using FREE goodies from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

I used the items from the Hostess bundle: the Fresh Vintage stamp set, the Everyday Enchantment DSP and the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack. Hostesses earn this with a $400 workshop. Customers can earn each item separately with a $50 purchase. The card base is Poppy Parade with a Baja Breeze accent layer behind the DSP print background. The flower image from the stamp set was stamped three times on a Whisper White strip, two in Poppy Parade and one in Baja Breeze. To the center of each flower I added a brad from the Brad pack. Two are Lucky Limeade, one Poppy Parade. On the edge of the Whisper White strip I added some of the Lucky Limeade ribbon from the Ribbon Pack. I find this ribbon a little tricky to tie nicely, so I don't. I wrapped it several time around and secured to the back of the whisper white. Then, I knotted two smaller pieced around the front and trim. Give yourself plenty of ribbon to work with! Small pieces just frustrate you!!

OK, that's it for me!! Thanks for stopping by today!! Continue on the tour by using the links below!! I hope you'll stop back and see me again soon!! Don't forget the Two Week FREE trial!!

Mixed Bunch Royalty Sunshine

Took a little time to play tonight after spending most of the day doing paperwork I've neglected during the year. Oops :) Stampin' Royalty has a picture inspiration challenge this week, and this idea has been running around in my head for a few days.

Here is the challenge picture

and my creation. I knew the minute I saw the picture I was doing something with the Mixed Bunch Flowers. Great new set!!

The colors are Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight. Think I'm ready for Spring-too much blah outside right now!! Card base is Marina Mist with a Daffodil Delight accent layer behind the background Daffodil Delight DSP dot print. I stamped two of the bold flowers in Daffodil, and two in Marina Mist and punched with the Blossom Punch. Same with the centers but punched with the 1" circle punch. Then I pulled out buttons (from the Subtles & Brights sets) in the same colors and added White Bakers Twine to the center of each. The saying is from Pursuit of Happiness and was stamped in Marina Mist on the Daffodil DSP. The flowers were all attached with dimensional, the Marina ones first, then the Daffodil ones. Love it-Bright and Cherry!!

Daffodil Mixed Bunch

Card three from the weekend. A very last minute creation and a quick and easy WOW card!!

Concord Crush and Daffodil Delight-love it!! I'm starting to miss Concord Crush already-it's days are numbered :(

Card base is Concord Crush with an accent layer of Daffodil Delight behind a Whisper White background. On that background we stamped the 'thinking if you' from Curly Cute bottom center in Concord Crush. We stamped 3 bold flowers from Mixed Bunch in Daffodil Delight, and 3 centers in Concord Crush. The flowers were punched with the coordinating Blossom punch, and the centers with the 1" circle punch. The centers were attached to the flowers and the flowers to the background with dimensionals. The center flower is set above the two outside ones, and has a yellow brad (Fire Circle set) in the center for extra accent.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 012012

Happy Friday all! Hope you've had a good week. I'm looking forward to a weekend full of stamping! Club with the Girls on Sunday-YEAH!!

As you know, Friday means another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge and tour. Here is my card

based on this sketch by Tina Munzke.

Colors are Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Calypso Coral. I used the same DSP pack as last week, the SAB FREE item, the Everyday Enchantment pack. Love it!! Card base is Lucky Limeade with a Calypso Coral accent layer behind the striped DSP. The Scallop Circle was cut from another print and attached on the side. The flower is from the new set in the Occasions Mini, Mixed Bunch. Another matching punch-yeah!! I stamped the flower in Calypso Coral on Whisper White and punch it out. I punched a second from Calypso Coral and layered behind. In the center is a Pool Party brad from the In Color brad set. The leaves are Lucky Limeade punched with the Large Oval punch. the flower is attached to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I knotted a Lucky Limeade ribbon around the bottom, actually it's a cheater bow! The strip is attached around the card front, and a small piece was knotted over that. The saying is from Friendly Phrases and was stamped in Basic Black.

Thanks for stopping by today! Continue on our tour by clicking HERE to see what Kim as created this week! We hope to see you playing along this week! Link your creations to the SFF blog HERE. :)
