2021 Calendar part 1

Hey all, remember me? Finally some ink on my fingers today! 😍 Hope your Christmas was wonderful! Different I'm sure as it was for us. Luckily both boys made it home and we had a good time!

I started on my 2021 desk calendar today. History, this started as a Paper Pumpkin kit in 2015 for a 2016 calendar. I did that first year and really liked having it on my desk. Didn't realize there was an option to have it again for 2017 so I got by without. Then I realized someone had made the 2018 calendar and I was back in business! I didn't get a full year done for 2018, 6 of 12, but for 2019 I did a full year using my favorite then set Painted Harvest. 2020 I cheated and didn't start over but redid the calendar parts. I still like this set, but it felt like I should start all over for 2021. No bad karma to continue into next year from 2020!!

So, here is the first half of 2021! I settled on Beauty Abounds for my set. Love these dots!! Note also, these are going to be a little rough. They are just for my desk so I wasn't too worried about perfect. Partly because I forgot to change the printer to a nicer print quality! I also cut these free hand so the corners especially are rough!! And there will be retired items used, especially ribbon!

I stuck with my same color reasoning as from 2019. There will be changes I'm sure. But, for each month I think what color goes with? January is cold, winter, snowy. So blue. This one is Seaside Spray, Pacific Point, Misty Moonlight and Smoky Slate. Large dots are Seaside, small dots in both Pacific and Misty. Splatters in Smoky Slate, some full strength, some stamped off once. Base and accent layer are Misty Moonlight, ribbon is Seaside Spray, background is Whisper White.

February is Valentines day so Red or pink. This is all Poppy Parade. Red is not always a favorite for me, but I do like this Poppy! Always so cheerful! Large dots are all full strength. Small ones are a mix, some full, some off once and maybe twice. Splatters in Smoky Slate. Base and accent layer are Poppy Parade. Retired Poppy Parade striped ribbon.

March, St. Patrick's Day. Green. Not a holiday we celebrate at all, maybe we do corned beef and cabbage but that is it! But I do like the challenge of using green. I went back to an old favorite here, retired color Lemon Lime Twist. Love it! Large circles in Lemon Lime, smaller in Smoky Slate. Splatters over all in Smoky Slate, some full strength, some off once or twice. Retired Lemon Lime ribbon.

April. Generally Easter, so pastel colors come to mind with Easter Eggs. I grabbed my Purple Posy because Purple. Remember this color ink was discontinued because of issues. I'm starting to see variance. It was OK at first, but the ink is definitely more blue now than the cardstock. This is more light than I would have liked too, but I didn't want to start over. All circles stamped in Purple Posy, some splatters with Smoky Slate. White weave ribbon for accent.

May. Things are coming back to life and generally the first flowers I see around here are roses that are bright pink. So I grabbed the In Color Magenta Madness. Not sure I've used it before, but I like it! All dots are full strength Magenta and I added some butterflies to the largest circle. A few light dots in Smoky Slate. Magenta Madness ribbon for accent.

June. This might be my favorite! Summer, Flag Day, Fathers Day. Probably several options there for other colors, but one of my boys was born on Flag Day so Red, White and Blue is my choice here. I did opt for a lighter blue though and I like it. Balmy Blue, Poppy Parade and Whisper White cardstock for the white.  Larger circles in Balmy Blue, smaller for accent in Poppy Parade. No splatters this time for a very clean look! That accent on the 15th will be our 30th Anniversary, wow!! 💜

Thank you for stopping by today! I will have a news update post tomorrow and hopefully the rest of the calendar year soon!
