Darling Thank You

Happy snow day, again! UGH! Pretty over it at this point. And so cold! But, enough whining and on to something fun. Darling Donkey's are all over right now as one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration sets. Too fun! I finally made a card and tried out the new blending brushes - wow!!!

I decided I wanted to try the blending brushes, I've seen lots of great cards and a few videos using them. Have you noticed them? Page 70 of the current Mini Catalog.

Note: there are other versions "out there" too and maybe they've been out for a while. I keep my circle very close to home with just Stampin' Up! stuff so sorry if I'm late to the party. Let me just say my first impression is these are awesome. Looking at them, they look stiff. But they are super soft! I started with a light color so as not to stain the brush right out of the gate. Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray and Whisper White are the cardstocks used here. I dabbed the blending brush on the ink pad, tapped onto scratch paper so as not to have a dark spot, then blended ink onto the Whisper White in a circular motion. Darker in the center, lighter around. Very easy to clean BTW, I dabbed it right onto my damp Simply Shammy and almost all came right off! You can clean with water too but you'll want to give it plenty of time to dry before using again.

Once I had the color the way I wanted, I stamped the donkey over with Basic Gray. I added the Hee Haw at the top and Thank you from Peaceful Moments below. I added some Gray do the Donkey with a blender pen (picked up ink from the lid of the ink pad), then went over the entire Donkey with Stella. Final accent some retired Epoxy dots in various sizes of Coastal Cabana.
