Painted Illusions cards

Morning all, Happy St. Patricks Day! Corned beef is headed to the Crock Pot shortly!!

I broke into my Painted Illusions DSP the other day, and got 7 cards from ONE piece of 12 x 12! I saw a layout on Pinterest I liked and decided to give it a go! Not sure why I'm into strips and such with DSP, but they have been fun to try! Details on the layout below all the cards! This was lots of cutting, but maybe not as bad as you might think. Everything has a 1 1/4" measurement so I started by cutting the entire piece into strips. I started with this print

because I liked how the colors blended and changed. I cut horizontally so that they are mostly one color. Colors are Darling Duckling, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green and Lost Lagoon. The reverse print is the Lost Lagoon pattern. Here are the cards, each with a few notes. I used all retired ribbons, some retired saying stamps, some retired embellishments. If they are current I will note them, and they are listed in the product links at the bottom!

First, 2 in Darling Duckling!

This one uses 3 different prints, and I tried to not put them beside themselves. Thank You is from Lovely Arrangements, retired white ribbon, Clear accents are from the Opal Rounds Assortment.

This one has a little more color variation, but still 3 patterns, each in 2 places. Thank You from Lovely Arrangements this time stamped in Granny Apple Green. Retired white ribbon and Daffodil Delight accents from Opal Rounds Assortment.

Next, Lost Lagoon. For this one, I flipped the strips over.

Monochromatic, all Lost Lagoon! Retired ribbon, Hello Friend from Lovely Arrangements, Antique Pearls for accent.

Next, Granny Apple Green.

These are very similar, slight variation in the papers. No ribbon, retired saying. Retired glitter dots.

And finally, Petal Pink! These might be my favorite!

Just a slight variation in paper on these. Below is mostly all Petal Pink, above has more yellow on several pieces. Saying from Simply Said stamped in Pecan Pie. Retired Petal Pink ribbon. Accents from the Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems.

Layout details are below. I took one of the cards and added the measurements. As I said, I started with strips of 1 1/4" and then cut the second size depending on where the piece was going!

Click to enlarge and see the details. Hopefully you can then print if you would like! I attached each "saying section" with dimensionals. Ribbons are either on the corner or just off. I did want to note the original posting I found had the measurements for the "lower left" and "saying section" at 1/8" wider - so 2 5/8" instead of the 2 1/2" that I've noted. It seemed super crowded to me, I don't see an edge around most of the sayings and very little space on the lower section. But do what works for you! Make it wider if you have room!
