Petite Petals

Here are a few cards from the weekend. Set is retired, but all but one color is current. So first, the backstory. I have this plate, which I may have shared here? I keep it downstairs on a cupboard and stamp it seasonally.

I was updating things to Spring/Easter this weekend. Previously the plate was Valentines, same ribbon but had hearts all around the words. I decided I liked this flower sprig nearby so went with those colors. I was initially looking at a newer set, but then saw this one, Petite Petals in my cupboard. 6 small flowers - perfect for this! The ribbon is retired Riding Hood Red. I chose Crushed Curry, Balmy Blue and Old Olive to go with. The letters did not cooperate this go around! The surface is slick. Lining them up is always tricky, and this time I got lots of spotty looks. I redid a few, and then decided it was good enough!

And, since I had the set out, I decided to make a few cards with it! And I liked the colors together.

I stamped all the backgrounds, randomly. Then grabbed some cardstock in Riding Hood Red, Crushed Curry and Balmy Blue and some ribbons in both Riding Hood and Curry. The set has a coordinating punch so did a flower in each color with a simple embellishment in the center, knotted a ribbon and did a simple Hello saying on a banner. Not bad!!

Then I thought, I wonder what some texture would do. I embossed the next 2 backgrounds with the Dotted & Circle folder. WOW! Click to zoom if need be, but this makes them pop!

The beauty of this layout also is you can go up or down with your ribbon/saying and they all look good!

I hope I've inspired you to go through your stash and play with something you haven't used in a while! This is such a simple little set but I love how these came out! 4 cards done in very little time!
