Grape Butterfly Birthday

Hey all, a card today that makes me happy. Purple, butterfly, birthday, and glitter ribbon! Perfect! Some retired stuff, but when I make it to the stamp room with very much time to spend, I try to work through something old as well as creating something new. It's going to take me years, but every little bit helps!

Color is Gorgeous Grape with a Basic Black accent layer behind striped DSP. The paper was from the Brights 6x6 stack last year. The butterfly is from Beautiful Day and was colored on Shimmery White Cardstock. With what, I'm not 100% sure! Guessing Highland Heather blends, layered to be fairly dark. It was cut out and attached with dimensionals over the DSP. I added some Stella over the center (darkest) areas. Ribbon is current 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon. Good to know - I would have guessed retired from the Holiday Mini :) Happy Birthday from Perennial Birthday on a stitched rectangle. Pretty easy, aside from cutting out that butterfly!

Just Breathe

Needed this tonight...in so many ways! Long weekend with just too much today. Went immediately to the stamp room after dinner to create. Love the simplicity, and the message.

Inspired by the Color Throwdown colors of the week, even though I missed being able to enter. It was more about the creation and me time tonight. Here is their challenge block.

Orange, Brown, Moss Green and Cream. Or, in my Stampin' Up! World, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla.

Stamp set is Colorful Seasons with accent "dots" from Perennial Birthday. I stamped the saying first, then the large leaves in Pumpkin Pie, small leaves in Mint Macaron and then dots. Some full, some off once, some off twice. Final accent was some Faceted dots in Mint Macaron, but apparently they are retired (sorry!). Card base is Thick Very Vanilla, accent of Soft Suede and background of Very Vanilla. More #simplestamping

Throwback Thursday!

Couldn't resist the color challenge at TGIF with this retired set, French Foliage. It is my all time favorite leaf set. I pulled it out last year after the garage sale and it is still hanging around :) Probably not going back on the sale block ever.

Early Espresso, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz. Card base is Early Espresso, accent layer of Calypso Coral and background of Very Vanilla. I stamped the leaves randomly, intermixing slightly. Then added dots stamped off once. I stamped the Happy Birthday from Perennial Birthday at the bottom of the Calypso layer in Espresso, then tore the bottom of the Vanilla background. I sponged all the edges of the Vanilla layer with Early Espresso. I tied a (retired) Pear Pizzazz ribbon around and layered it all together. Quick and easy and another birthday card for my stash!

Crooked Harvest

Hey all, finally - a card finished! I probably started this one over a month ago. Don't exactly remember but with as busy as last month was, and we were gone every weekend, it had to be!

Painted Harvest again. Still on my Desk. Sorry not sorry! This one followed the last one (click to see if you don't remember), and in part spun from it. I continued my "purple" theme and decided to try the new striped 3 purple ribbon. Purple is my thing as you all know. I was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest. See it here, and I do recommend clicking over. Her post has lots of good, general info about Painted Harvest! Thank you Diane.  OK, the card.

Raise your hand if the crooked aspect bothers you? I admit it does me too, more than I thought it would. But I like it too. And different is always good!! The flower was stamped before I had a Purple Posy ink pad, or it might have been all purple. Background flower layer is Highland Heather, the center flower is Gorgeous Grape. Center flower and leaves Smoky Slate. The ribbon is stripes of all 3 purples as I mentioned: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Purple Posy.  The flower was stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White and cut out. I stamped 3 sets of leaves on a separate piece as well and punched with the Leaf punch. Card base is Gorgeous Grape, accent layer of Smoky Slate. On the Whisper White background I stamped two sets of leaves, then random dots in several spots. I do now have Purple Posy so some of those are Purple Posy. Happy Birthday is from Perennial Birthday. The flower and leaves were attached with dimensionals over the ribbon and lastly I added some Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequin flowers in Highland Heather.

May have to do another with all purple on the flower. Just because I can :)
