More leaves!

This time from the retired set French Foliage. Cards, and a plate! I found this "ribbon plate" while going through boxes in my room. I used to decorate it frequently, changing with seasons or occasions at the house. It got put away many years ago and forgotten! I happened on some wide ribbon the other day and inspiration hit!

The plate is by Southern Living, and I purchased it at a neighbor's party when we lived in Lincoln, over 20 years ago. I'm excited to have it back out. The ribbon colors looked like Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Garden Green. I grabbed the inks, French Foliage and the alphabet set (don't remember the name) and went to town! Love how it came out!! It has landed in a permanent position in the basement and will get a Christmas update right after Thanksgiving :)

While those inks and French Foliage were on my desk I made four backgrounds with the leaves. A few days ago, I finally made them into cards! Here are two versions, click the pictures to enlarge and see if you can see the difference!

Do you see it? One background is raised, one is recessed. I ran the backgrounds through an embossing folder and did them different ways. Depending on the folder you can get very different looks! Some may not work but this one did. I like them both ways! I layered the background on a Rich Razzleberry base and knotted a satin ribbon around. The "thank you" is from a retired set themed thank you. It is stamped is Razzleberry and layered onto Garden Green, attached with dimensionals over the ribbon.

Four more cards for the "stash!!". Thanks for stopping by!!

Foliage Thanks

Hey all, hope you are staying in and warm! The weather here in Nebraska is absolutely frightful! Super cold and lots of blowing snow. I've had two awful drives to down this week - I don't recommend it!

We are staying productive and continuing to work on purging our house. Big job, but it will make moving later this year so much easier! The stamp room is one of the worst parts but I'm slowly making progress! And I have been stamping here and there!!

To share today I have two versions of a thank you note I made this fall. My father passed away and the task of sending these fell to me. I couldn't bring myself to use the ones the funeral home game me, I had to make my own! I reached for an old favorite, French Foliage and came up with these!

I also grabbed some older cardstock - trying to use up things that have been hanging around! I actually wish we still had these, just for variety. The top is Naturals Ivory, and the bottom Naturals White.

Same card and layout, different colors. The top is a Natural Ivory base, Early Espresso accent layer. The Ivory background is stamped with a clear block (Block E) in Crumb Cake and then leaves over in Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie. The ribbon is a retired natural type that went perfect with these colors!

This one has a Natural White base with a Gorgeous Grape accent layer behind the Naturals White background. On that I again stamped Crumb Cake with Clear Block E and then leaves over in Gorgeous Grape, Crushed Curry and Garden Green. Another retired ribbon, this one in Gorgeous Grape.

The "Thank You" on both is from a current set, Inked & Tiled.

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be back, in addition to all the purging and sorting I have been mailing some birthday cards. I don't like to post those ahead of when they are received so it will be a bit. Let me know if you have any questions!! I do have some new things on the way too :)

French Foliage Color 3

Morning all! Hope your weekend is going well. All is good here, getting stuff done around the house and in the stamp room :) Love it when the ideas are running around in my head!

Here is the second card I did for the 3rd SU! Color Challenge to #keepstamping.

The retired French Foliage set has always been a favorite and it's been hanging around the stamp table since the last garage sale. I happened to see it the other day and thought it would be perfect with these colors. Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. Very happy with this one!!

I didn't necessarily want the blues to be the primary color, so I went with Early Espresso for the large leaf and started stamping. Added in the rounder leaf in Pool Party and the smaller one in Pretty Peacock. Stamped and alternated until the background was full. Then I grabbed the dots and went all over in Crumb Cake, some full strength, some off once. Once all done I put the entire background through the Subtle Embossing folder. Click to see if you can see the detail, it now looks like textured cardstock. Trimmed to size and added to an Early Espresso accent layer. The Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen ribbon was the perfect accent before adding to the Pretty Peacock card base. Tag is from the Painted Labels Die set, saying from Peaceful Moments. Attached over the ribbon with Mini Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by! #keepstamping I'll be back, I have several more cards in que! I broke into some old things yesterday and I'm having a lot of fun with this! Lots of cards to mail too! Shopping links and product details below!

Throwback Thursday!

Couldn't resist the color challenge at TGIF with this retired set, French Foliage. It is my all time favorite leaf set. I pulled it out last year after the garage sale and it is still hanging around :) Probably not going back on the sale block ever.

Early Espresso, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz. Card base is Early Espresso, accent layer of Calypso Coral and background of Very Vanilla. I stamped the leaves randomly, intermixing slightly. Then added dots stamped off once. I stamped the Happy Birthday from Perennial Birthday at the bottom of the Calypso layer in Espresso, then tore the bottom of the Vanilla background. I sponged all the edges of the Vanilla layer with Early Espresso. I tied a (retired) Pear Pizzazz ribbon around and layered it all together. Quick and easy and another birthday card for my stash!
