Timeless Note

Hey all! Happy Holiday weekend! Hope you are enjoying time with family and staying cool! It is far to hot here for this early!! We're staying in and much as possible!

I've been working on sorting my stamp room for the new catalog, and a general overall purge, but I took time last night to make a card. Always feels good to create!

I combined two challenges for this creation. Color Throwdown has a Red, White & Blue challenge. #CTD494

And Global Design Project has a "Note" challenge. #GDP139

I grabbed the Timeless Textures stamp to make a background. My colors are Real Red and the NEW Blueberry Bushel. Background is Shimmery White cardstock, layered onto Real Red and then a card base of Blueberry Bushel. I used both Real Red and Blueberry Bushel in creating the background, some stamped full strength, some off once. The flower is cut from Blueberry Bushel with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlit. 1/8" Real Red ribbon is attached around. The saying is from Thankful Thoughts and is stamped on Shimmery White CS in Blueberry Bushel and punched with the Classic Label punch. I punched a second from Real Red, cut in half and attached at each end. I attached the element to the card base with Mini Dimensionals.

Dragonfly Berry JAI #398

More stamping!! Fun, fun, fun!!

Tonight I browsed a few challenges before heading up to the stamp room. This color challenge from Just Add Ink inspired me! Sometimes color only is a challenge and this one proved to be, as two of the three colors here are essentially neutrals. That leaves ONLY Berry Burst! Here is what I came up with using Dragonfly Dreams and a few other things!

I started with the background and went with a collage look using stamps from Dragonfly Dreams, Timeless Textures and Touches of Texture in Sahara Sand and Berry Burst on Whisper White. The edges of this layer are sponged with Sahara Sand. After stamping, I ran the background through the Big Shot using the Sparkle Embossing Folder. Next, I knotted a Berry Burst ribbon around, cut a Dragonfly out of Berry Burst and stamped the saying in Berry Burst on Sahara Sand. The dragonfly has a coating of Wink of Stella glitter and is attached with dimensionals.

Bold Butterfly Fab Friday!

Hello all! Hope your weekend is going well! We started with some back breaking sweaty work outside - weeding the garden! After that we pretty much crashed! We have a bit more to do, we'll see if that happens tomorrow morning before the heat kicks in!!

I decided I needed some time in the stamp room, but before I headed that way I browsed through some challenges. I didn't initially print or save the image for this one, but it stuck with me. I've always had a thing for rainbows and I think that is why my brain kept going back! Then I saw a card on Pinterest created in a similar way with a now retired stamp set and punch and I started looking to see what I had that would work! Here is the card I created.

Based on this Color Challenge from Fab Friday!

I started with my background of Whisper White and scanned through my sets that I thought would work for a background. I didn't want to solid or bold so I settled on this dotted image from the Timeless Textures set. I didn't try to get them even or perfectly lined up, just somewhat spaced OK for the top to bottom coverage. Then I cut a butterfly in each of the colors using the Bold Butterfly Framelit. The saying is from Watercolor Wings. I have trouble not putting a saying of some sort, but this one needed to be fairly small for the bottom corner. Perfect fit!

I staggered the butterflies and tried to overlap just a little while attaching each near its background color. Lastly I added a large White Perfect Accent. Love the little pop that gives them! The Whisper White with butterflies was layered onto Daffodil Delight and then a card base of Bermuda Bay.

Thanks for stopping by! Product details below. I'm heading back up and have a few other cards here to post from previous stamping time. Come back again soon!
