Birthday Leaves

Couldn't resist one more! Was looking to make some birthday cards and came across a color challenge that was perfect for these leaves!! Maybe the last one, I moved on to something else yesterday that has no leaves :) Here is my card

Inspired by this color challenge at Color Throwdown

My Stampin' Up Colors are Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Pretty Peacock. These die cut leaves are a bit tedious, but now that I've got my fine tip glue functioning it will go faster! Also, get a Silicone Mat to keep the glue off the work surface!! Sticky spots make me crazy!! Card base is Pretty Peacock, accent layer of Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla background. I stamped the splatter image twice with Crushed Curry, then layered outline leaves in Pretty Peacock and die cut stamped leaves in Cherry Cobbler. Fine tip glue for the outline leaves, Mini Dimensionals on the Cherry ones. Crushed Curry bow in the center, attached with glue dots over the stems in the middle. Happy Birthday from Simply Said.

Thanks for stopping by! We're off to K-State football later (go Cats!) and need to get some chores done first! There is a project on my table so hopefully I'll be back soon!

More leaves!

This time from the retired set French Foliage. Cards, and a plate! I found this "ribbon plate" while going through boxes in my room. I used to decorate it frequently, changing with seasons or occasions at the house. It got put away many years ago and forgotten! I happened on some wide ribbon the other day and inspiration hit!

The plate is by Southern Living, and I purchased it at a neighbor's party when we lived in Lincoln, over 20 years ago. I'm excited to have it back out. The ribbon colors looked like Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Garden Green. I grabbed the inks, French Foliage and the alphabet set (don't remember the name) and went to town! Love how it came out!! It has landed in a permanent position in the basement and will get a Christmas update right after Thanksgiving :)

While those inks and French Foliage were on my desk I made four backgrounds with the leaves. A few days ago, I finally made them into cards! Here are two versions, click the pictures to enlarge and see if you can see the difference!

Do you see it? One background is raised, one is recessed. I ran the backgrounds through an embossing folder and did them different ways. Depending on the folder you can get very different looks! Some may not work but this one did. I like them both ways! I layered the background on a Rich Razzleberry base and knotted a satin ribbon around. The "thank you" is from a retired set themed thank you. It is stamped is Razzleberry and layered onto Garden Green, attached with dimensionals over the ribbon.

Four more cards for the "stash!!". Thanks for stopping by!!

Thinking of you Leaves

Needed a card for a friend today, so I reached for this beautiful leaf set from a few years back, Gorgeous Leaves and the coordinating die set Intricate Leaves! One can never have too many leaves for fall creations :)

I wanted this one fairly clean and simple and this is what I came up with!

Colors are Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie and Coastal Cabana. Base is Pecan, accent of Pumpkin behind a background of Very Vanilla. I stamped the splatter image in Coastal Cabana in the center, then layered over a die cut leaf in Pecan and a stamped Pumpkin leaf also die cut with an outline image. I used fine glue for the Pecan leaf and mini dimensionals for the Pumpkin leaf. A braided linen trim bow for accent and saying from Everyday Greetings in Pecan.

Thanks for stopping by today! More creations to come :) Details links below for current items used!

Misty Season

Hey all! A Christmas card to share today. I finally got one made for that challenge! Still hope to catch up the missed ones, but who knows if that will happen! Here is the card.

I choose a color I haven't used very much; Misty Moonlight and I really like it! Card base is Misty Moonlight, background of Basic White that I textured with an embossing folder. Trees were stamped on Basic White with Misty Moonlight and cut with the coordinating dies. The saying/die are the Greetings of the Season bundle (stamps and dies). The trees by the way are the Peaceful Evergreen bundle (stamps and dies). The trees and the saying were all attached with dimensionals. For accent, I added some gems to the trees and a ribbon with staple on the saying! Product details and shopping links below!!
