ColorLab 8

Wow, another week gone, but that means it's time for another challenge over at the ColorLab! I think this one has lots of possibilities, but of course I waited til the last minute so didn't have time to explore many!!

BLUSHING BRIDE, CONCORD CRUSH, CERTAINLY CELERY, SAHARA SAND & VERY VANILLA!

Flowers came to mind as the best way to get all the colors in, so I reached for Flower Fancy. But then I still struggled with Sahara Sand. I worked it in though, can you see it?? Card base is Concord Crush, background is Very Vanilla. I stamped the large flower first, the center in Blushing Bride, outlined in Concord Crush. I added a few leaves with Certainly Celery by stamping the inside (solid) image first off once, then the outline image full strength. Remember, you always have two colors in each ink pad!! Next I added the small flowers, some solid Concord Crush with solid Certainly Celery leaves, and some outline Concord Crush with outline Certainly Celery leaves. To color the center of the small flowers, I grabbed a pencil on my desk and inked the eraser. Perfect!! Now comes the Sahara Sand. I used my Spritzer Tool and Sahara Sand marker and to give it some splatter! Just enough to fill in the plain areas. And I sponged the edges also with Sahara Sand. The saying is from All Holidays and is stamped in Concord Crush on Very Very Vanilla with 3 small Blushing Bride flowers for accent. Certainly Celery satin ribbon is knotted around the background under the saying.

Click here to drop by the Lab and play along!!  You'll find a linking tool there to post your creation for all to see!! Thanks all for stopping by, comments always welcome to know you were here :)

Hope you have a great weekend! I'm just so happy the temps have cooled a bit, and Fall may really come here after all! :D

I'd never put pink and purple together. Heck, I never use pink! But this looks great. I love the floral background you created---and the sahara sand! Beautiful Work. TFS!
